Sundermeier RV Park Introduce
Sundermeier RV Park, located at 111 Transit St in St. Charles, Missouri, is an RV park that caters to travelers seeking "RV parks near me" in the St. Charles area. Situated in a historic city on the banks of the Missouri River, St. Charles offers a blend of cultural attractions, entertainment, and convenient access to the wider St. Louis metropolitan region. However, the available customer reviews for Sundermeier RV Park present a mixed and concerning picture that potential visitors should carefully consider.
One reviewer who stayed for an overnight stop expressed reservations about extending their stay beyond a single night. This individual, who booked online using a military discount, reported a discrepancy at check-in regarding the applicability of the discount, being told it was only for retirees and not active duty personnel. This encounter left the reviewer with the impression that the park might not be particularly welcoming to traditional campers and families. The reviewer also mentioned being asked to pay a rate difference and the unusual refusal to accept cash due to the register being closed. Furthermore, they found the inquiry about the exact breeds of their small dogs to be strange for a self-proclaimed pet-friendly establishment.
On a more positive note, this reviewer found the sites to be level and clean. However, they also highlighted a significant issue with "insane" water pressure, reportedly at 100 psi, requiring the use of two regulators to bring it down to a safe level. The reviewer also noted the proximity and noise from nearby train tracks and an overhead interstate highway. A significant drawback mentioned was the lack of amenities at the park, despite charging rates comparable to campgrounds offering more facilities. The reviewer concluded that while the park was acceptable for a single overnight stay, they would not recommend it for longer durations.
Another, more concerning review came from a traveling nurse couple who reported significant issues during their one-month stay. They described encounters with a "creepy male couple" who allegedly followed the wife to the bathrooms on multiple occasions. Following an incident where the owners and manager reportedly yelled, screamed, banged on the wife's shower stall, and removed her clothes for showering in the women's restroom with her husband (for safety reasons, as they stated), the couple was told that men were not allowed in the women's restroom, regardless of identification. Subsequently, they were asked to leave the park. The reviewers also alleged being overcharged for water and electricity and reported the presence of homeless individuals in the park's gazebo and restrooms.
This second review raises serious concerns about the safety, management practices, and overall environment of Sundermeier RV Park. The allegations of harassment, discriminatory treatment based on gender identity, and the presence of non-guests utilizing park facilities are significant red flags for potential visitors. The claim of being overcharged for utilities adds another layer of concern regarding the park's business practices.
Based on these reviews, the environment of Sundermeier RV Park appears to be impacted by noise from nearby transportation infrastructure and potentially by the presence of individuals who are not registered guests. The sense of safety and security is also called into question by the reported incidents. The lack of amenities, as mentioned by one reviewer, further detracts from the overall value proposition of the park.
Information regarding specific services and features is limited and largely negative. While the sites are described as level and clean by one reviewer, this is overshadowed by concerns about water pressure and the absence of expected campground amenities. The management is portrayed negatively in both reviews, with allegations of inconsistent policy application, unprofessional behavior, and potentially discriminatory practices. The second review also suggests a lack of control over who is using the park's facilities.
There is no information available regarding any promotional offers at Sundermeier RV Park. Given the concerns raised in the reviews, potential visitors would likely prioritize addressing the safety, management, and amenity issues over any potential discounts. It is crucial for the park to address the serious allegations made by former guests to improve its reputation and attract more positive feedback.
For individuals searching for "RV parks near me" in St. Charles, Missouri, Sundermeier RV Park is an option that appears. However, the available customer reviews contain significant negative feedback regarding management, safety, amenities, and the overall environment. Potential visitors are strongly urged to exercise extreme caution and conduct thorough due diligence before considering a stay at this park. This should include seeking more recent reviews from multiple sources, contacting the park management directly to address the concerns raised, and potentially looking at alternative RV parks in the St. Charles area that may offer a more positive and secure experience.
In conclusion, the current online feedback for Sundermeier RV Park in St. Charles, MO, raises substantial concerns that cannot be ignored. The allegations of inconsistent policies, high water pressure, noise, lack of amenities, safety issues, and questionable management practices paint a picture that warrants significant caution. While the location in St. Charles may be appealing, prospective RV travelers should carefully weigh these potential drawbacks against any perceived benefits and consider whether other "RV parks near me" might offer a more reliable and enjoyable experience. It is imperative for the management of Sundermeier RV Park to address the serious issues raised in these reviews to ensure a safe and welcoming environment for all guests.

Sundermeier RV Park Reviews
We stayed here just as an overnight stop and that’s as long as I recommend staying. Booked online with military discount. When I checked in the woman at the desk told me that the discount was for retirees only, not active duty. This gave me an indication that this was not a place that wanted traditional campers and families. She then requested I pay the $6 difference in rate for the military discount. Would not accept cash because she had already closed her register. She then questioned me about the breed of dogs I had with me and I assured her that they were all small. She demanded to know exact breeds which I found strange considering the place was rated as pet friendly.Sites are level and clean, but the water pressure was insane at 100 psi. I needed 2 regulators to get it down to an acceptable level. Train tracks and interstate overhead were easily accessible but noisy. There are no Amenities at this “campground” but charged similar to places with everything.Overall fine for a one night stay but would not recommend staying here for anything more than that.
Jan 03, 2025 · Lori FearnsideWe are a traveling nurse couple from out of state. We had issues with a creepy male couple who followed my wife to the bathrooms on more than one occasion. We took showers together whether in men’s or women’s didn’t see issue as it’s for our safety and boy were we correct. We were in separate showers and the owner and manager yelled and screamed banged on my wife’s shower stall and took her clothes telling her to get out. We than were told no man is allowed in women’s restroom whether they identify as woman or not. We were than told to leave which was quite allright but we were ripped off over 300$ for supposed water and electric for just one month. If you identify as a woman as a man I would not recommend staying here you will be harassed by the people who run the park. You will also see homeless people throughout park in their gazebo and in their restrooms. My hope is that more identifiers stay there and get them in trouble for not following the laws. There are better parks that are safer for families and provide better amenities for the price they charge.
Mar 03, 2025 · Ryan BaileySundermeier RV Park in St. Charles, MO is a nice place to camp when visiting the Saint Louis Metro area whether it's winter or summer, there are lots of thing to do. You'll find the park has concrete pads to accommodate large and small Motor Homes and Trailers and is out of the way of heavy traffic but close to the Interstate highway systems. I spent 2 months here this summer and it seemed there was a festival in Old St Charles French Town area every two weeks and whether walking or biking; the 50 mile Katy Trail gives great views of the Missouri River.
Nov 27, 2024 · J ZThis RV park is the pits as for what you pay to stay there in the tiny spots with neighbors back to back on each side and close behind you. You have no yard area whatsoever unless you stay on a corner spot which are few. Then the ole park owner Carolyn Sundermeier isn’t nice and couldn’t care less about your water or electric working since she will never have someone there to fix it when stuff breaks. Gotta wait for her guy friend she knows to fix it as a favor. She was a mean person the whole time we stayed there and doesn’t know the first thing about people and property. Then the office assistant Mrs D Duncan, she’s a whole another story. Between being completely lazy and lying, to doing things behind the owners back, then when she gets caught she will do the unthinkable. An absolute mess that place was. Oh and don’t trust her with your mail either cuz she will open it. The laundry room was a joke too, just smelled all the time and machines are very small and old like the office. As far as the restrooms? You want hot water for your shower? You better go somewhere else for that. The only thing this park has going for it is the location being in town and close to ole French townBut even that isn’t great considering the immediate neighborhood is run down , full of druggies and graffiti all over in the city park behind them.
Dec 18, 2024 · AmandaThis park is good. It’s in a really good location, close to many stores driving, close enough to enjoy St. Louis and far away enough from the city. We felt safe and slept great, quiet and peaceful. It’s all concrete and asphalt, easy to navigate with a 28 foot class C pulling a vehicle. The spaces are large and concrete with a picnic table, well lit. The restrooms and showers are clean. The office staff was nice. We would I stay here again no doubt.
