SWEET WATER RV PARK Introduce
For local users in the Port Allen and Greater Baton Rouge areas who are searching for "RV parks near me," SWEET WATER RV PARK, located at 2553 Court St, Port Allen, LA 70767, USA, offers a straightforward option for overnight stays and potentially longer visits. You can contact them at (225) 603-5595 or +1 225-603-5595. Based on recent customer reviews, SWEET WATER RV PARK provides essential amenities like full hookups and good cellular service, but it also has some limitations that potential guests should consider.
One reviewer described their experience as an "ok overnight stay," indicating that the park meets basic needs for a short stopover. A significant advantage mentioned is the availability of "full hookups," which typically includes water, electricity, and sewer connections, essential for the comfort and convenience of RV travelers. The presence of a "gravel driveway" is also noted, which is a common surface for RV parks and provides a relatively stable parking area.
For those who rely on mobile communication and internet access, SWEET WATER RV PARK seems to offer good connectivity, with the reviewer specifically mentioning "Good Verizon and T Mobile service." This is an important factor for many travelers who need to stay connected for work or personal reasons while on the road.
The nightly rate reported in one review is "$40 a night," which provides a concrete piece of pricing information for budget-conscious travelers. This price point should be compared with other "RV parks near me" in the vicinity to determine its competitiveness.
In terms of amenities, the only one specifically mentioned is a "little run down laundry room." The description "run down" suggests that the laundry facilities might be basic and potentially not in the best condition. This is an important consideration for guests who plan to do laundry during their stay. The lack of other amenities is also notable, implying that SWEET WATER RV PARK focuses on providing essential hookups rather than extensive recreational or comfort facilities.
A significant environmental factor mentioned in one review is "significant road noise." This suggests that the park is located near a busy road, which could be disruptive, especially during peak traffic hours or for light sleepers. Potential guests should consider this if a quiet environment is a priority.
One of the reviews details a negative experience regarding the reservation and check-in process. The guest "made a reservation and were told which spot to take upon arrival," but upon arrival, "well that spot was occupied." The subsequent attempt to resolve this issue involved multiple calls and messages to the office "without any luck." This lack of immediate responsiveness and the miscommunication regarding the assigned spot are definite drawbacks. The guest eventually decided to park in an empty spot and then had to wait "45 min later" to receive a message (not even a phone call) confirming that it was okay to stay in the chosen spot. The lack of an apology ("That's all not even sorry for the miscommunication") further detracts from the initial impression of the park's management and customer service.
On a more positive note, the second review offers a contrasting perspective, describing SWEET WATER RV PARK as "Very nice a quiet rv park… not too close to the city!!" This contradicts the first review's mention of significant road noise, suggesting that the noise level might vary depending on the specific location within the park or the time of day. The reviewer also appreciates that the park is not too far from the city, offering "easy fast access to city if you want to head out there…" This indicates a convenient location that balances a quieter setting with accessibility to the amenities and attractions of Baton Rouge.
The second reviewer also praises the owner, stating that they are "very polite and understanding…" This positive feedback about the owner's demeanor and approach to guests is a significant plus and contrasts with the negative communication experience reported in the first review. It suggests that while there might be occasional lapses in communication, the owner generally has a good rapport with guests.
In summary, SWEET WATER RV PARK in Port Allen offers full hookups and good cell service at a rate of $40 per night, making it a potentially convenient option for overnight stays. It has a gravel driveway and a basic, possibly run-down, laundry room as its only mentioned amenity. While one reviewer experienced significant road noise, another described the park as quiet and appreciated its location offering easy access to Baton Rouge. There is a mixed experience regarding customer service and communication, with one instance of poor handling of a reservation issue and another highlighting a polite and understanding owner.
For local users searching for "RV parks near me" for a short stopover near Port Allen or with easy access to Baton Rouge, SWEET WATER RV PARK provides the essentials. The good cell service is a definite plus for those needing to stay connected. However, the potential for road noise and the reported issues with reservation handling and communication are factors that should be taken into consideration. The basic and possibly run-down laundry room might also be a limitation for some travelers.
The conflicting reports about the noise level suggest that the experience might vary depending on the site within the park. Potential guests might want to inquire about site locations relative to the road when making a reservation. The positive feedback about the owner being polite and understanding is encouraging, but the incident with the occupied spot and the lack of apology indicate a need for improvement in communication and reservation management.
As there is no specific promotional information provided, local users interested in SWEET WATER RV PARK should contact them directly at (225) 603-5595 or +1 225-603-5595 to inquire about current rates, availability, specific site information (including proximity to the road), and the current condition and operating hours of the laundry room. It would also be prudent to confirm the reservation process and what to do in case of any discrepancies upon arrival.
In conclusion, SWEET WATER RV PARK offers a basic but functional option for RVers in the Port Allen area, particularly for overnight stays. Its full hookups and good cell service are advantages, while the potential for road noise, the basic laundry facility, and the reported issues with reservation handling are drawbacks to consider. The polite owner mentioned in one review suggests a generally positive management attitude, but improvements in communication and reservation processes appear to be needed.

SWEET WATER RV PARK Reviews
It is ok overnight stay, full hookups and gravel driveway. Good Verizon and T Mobile service. 40$ a night. A little run down laundry room is the only amenities available. There is significant road noise. We made a reservation and were told which spot to take upon arrival, well that spot was occupied. We called and messaged the office multiple times without any luck, then we decided to park in an empty spot, message the office and waited for the answer. 45 min later we received the message not even the phone call that it is ok to stay in the spot we have chosen. That's all not even sorry for the miscommunication.

Oct 27, 2024 · Lowell CourvillePerfect overnight stay, or long term if you are working in the area. There are no facilities as of yet, but full hookups on every site. The staff was super friendly and accommodated us last minute and after hours.
Jun 22, 2024 · Neil MorrisonPulled in close to midnight and were greeted with the warmest welcome ever. This is a smaller RV park but accommodated our 39ft momentum perfectly. The whole park is extra clean quiet and very well maintained. Al is the greatest host. Very helpful. We look forward to staying again and would recommend to others. Thanks AL
