Wekiva Falls RV Resort Introduce
As you search for "RV parks near me" in the scenic region of Sorrento, Florida, Wekiva Falls RV Resort, located at 30700 Wekiva River Rd, Sorrento, FL 32776, USA, emerges as a potential option. However, a closer examination of recent customer reviews reveals a somewhat mixed experience, suggesting that prospective visitors should be aware of both the positive and negative aspects reported by those who have stayed at this location. This introduction aims to provide a detailed and objective overview of Wekiva Falls RV Resort based on the available feedback, allowing local users to make an informed decision.
One of the primary points of contention raised in the reviews is the park's designation as a "resort." One reviewer emphatically stated, "This is not a resort! This is a mobile home/rv park, that is not what pictures show. It's very run down." This suggests a potential discrepancy between the expectations set by the park's name and marketing materials and the actual reality experienced by at least one guest. The reviewer's impression of the park being "very run down" is a significant concern that potential visitors should consider.
Adding to this disappointment was the reported closure of the lagoon, a potentially key amenity depicted in promotional materials. The reviewer expressed frustration that this closure was not disclosed at the time of booking and deposit, only being discovered upon arrival. The closure of a major amenity without prior notification can significantly impact the overall experience and value for money for guests.
The same reviewer also noted a significant number of long-term residents, stating, "Place has a ton of people the have lived here for years and years." While a strong sense of community among long-term residents can be a positive aspect, the context of the review suggests that this might contribute to the perception of it being more of a mobile home park with RV sites rather than a transient-friendly resort.
A particularly concerning issue raised is the quality and reliability of the water supply. The reviewer reported frequent water outages, both short and long, accompanied by "messages about boil it" due to the water being "nasty!" This is a serious health and safety concern that would undoubtedly impact the comfort and well-being of anyone staying at the park. The fact that the reviewer, who stayed for a job, had to change their water filter "sometimes twice a month" further underscores the severity of the water quality issues.
The first review also mentioned some positive aspects, including a "cool" golf cart trail and some fishing opportunities. However, these were juxtaposed with the overall negative assessment of it not being a resort and the presence of "alot of very dirty lots and trash." The alarming mention of "Seem more and more items are being stolen also" raises serious security concerns for potential guests.
In contrast to the first review, a more recent review from a guest who stayed during the 2024 Christmas trip presented a more positive experience, describing the park as an "Awesome place, very clean, quiet, and well taken care off." This reviewer stayed in a "super site" located conveniently near various amenities such as the Market, playground, trash disposal, and laundry facilities. The abundance of picnic tables throughout the park was also noted as a positive feature.
This second reviewer acknowledged the lagoon was closed during their visit but attributed it to the cold weather, suggesting it might be a seasonal closure rather than a long-term issue. They also mentioned a "very basic" dog park with a problem of uncollected pet waste, despite the availability of poop bags and trash receptacles. This highlights a potential issue with some pet owners not adhering to park rules.
The friendly and helpful staff in the front office were commended by the second reviewer. They also noted limited cell service and less-than-great Wi-Fi, but stated it wasn't an issue for their stay. Importantly, this reviewer concluded with a positive intention to return, indicating an overall satisfactory experience despite the noted drawbacks.
Considering both reviews, Wekiva Falls RV Resort appears to offer a mixed bag of experiences. Potential positive aspects include:
- Cleanliness (as reported by one reviewer): At least some areas of the park are perceived as clean and well-maintained.
- Friendly and Helpful Staff: The front office staff seems to be a strong point, providing good customer service.
- Convenient "Super Sites": Some sites are well-located near amenities.
- Amenities: The park offers a market, playground, laundry facilities, and a basic dog park.
- Golf Cart Trail and Fishing: Opportunities for recreation exist within the park.
- Quiet Atmosphere (as reported by one reviewer): Some guests appreciate the peaceful environment.
- Picnic Tables: Ample picnic tables are available throughout the park.
However, potential negative aspects and concerns include:
- Misrepresentation as a "Resort": At least one reviewer felt the park did not live up to the standards of a resort and was more akin to a run-down mobile home/RV park.
- Lagoon Closure: The lagoon, a potentially significant amenity, has been closed for an extended period, with poor communication regarding its status.
- Water Quality Issues: Frequent water outages and concerns about water potability, requiring frequent water filter changes, are serious health and convenience issues.
- Dirty Lots and Trash: Some areas of the park are reported to be unclean and have excessive trash.
- Security Concerns: Reports of increasing theft are alarming for the safety and security of guests and their belongings.
- Basic and Potentially Unhygienic Dog Park: While a dog park is available, issues with uncollected pet waste detract from its usability.
- Limited Connectivity: Poor cell service and unreliable Wi-Fi might be an inconvenience for some guests.
Given this conflicting feedback, local users searching for "RV parks near me" who are considering Wekiva Falls RV Resort should weigh these points carefully. The positive review suggests that some guests have had enjoyable stays, particularly if they value cleanliness and helpful staff and are not reliant on amenities like the lagoon or strong internet connectivity. However, the negative review raises significant red flags regarding the overall condition of the park, water quality, and security.
There is no promotional information available in the provided reviews. Potential visitors should inquire directly with the park management about any current specials, discounts, or the status of the lagoon and water issues. It would also be prudent to ask about security measures in place to address the reported thefts.
In conclusion, Wekiva Falls RV Resort in Sorrento, Florida, presents a complex picture based on the limited recent reviews. While some guests have appreciated its cleanliness and friendly staff, significant concerns have been raised about its condition, the prolonged closure of the lagoon, serious water quality issues, and security. Local users searching for "RV parks near me" should carefully consider these points and perhaps seek more recent reviews or even visit the park in person to assess the current conditions before making a reservation. Direct communication with the management is crucial to obtain accurate information about the status of amenities and any ongoing issues within the park. It is essential to align your expectations with the realities of the park as reported by recent guests to ensure a satisfactory camping experience.

Wekiva Falls RV Resort Reviews
This is not a resort! This is a mobile home/rv park, that is not what pictures show. It's very run down. The lagoon was closed! This was not disclosed to us when we paid our deposit over the phone, we discovered this once we arrived. Place has a ton of people the have lived here for years and years. The water goes out all the time sometimes short sometimes long time. They always have messages about boil it and all that because water is nasty! When it is actually on. Stayed here for a job and had to change my water filter sometimes twice a month. The golf cart trail is cool and some fishing also, But again no resort. Alot of very dirty lots and trash. Seem more and more items are being stolen also. HAPPY CAMPING!!
May 02, 2025 · Kyle JohnsonAwesome place, very clean, quiet, and well taken care off. We had a “super site” next to the Market, playground, trash and laundry. Plenty of things to do and picnic tables everywhere. The lagoon was closed but too cold to swim anyway during our 2024 Christmas trip. Dog park was very basic but lots of poop left everywhere. Really sad when they have dog poop bags and trash and stationed everywhere (not the sites fault). Very helpful and friendly staff in the front office. No cell service and WiFi wasn’t really great but we didn’t need it anyway. We will definitely be back.
Jan 03, 2025 · Stephanie BowenIt was so calming and the residents were so friendly and loving. The sulfur sprite was under construction but the tribe was very welcoming. Love you Jen, James, Mrs. Debbie and of course my lovely sister Jessica, you guys made our stay very memorable!💗
Apr 20, 2025 · Sharon RamosVery nice RV Resort. I’m pretty impressed with how well maintained it is, and how orderly the community is. Even with as big of a park as it is, and the number of people out and about, it is fairly quiet. We have a Doberman, and typically have trouble finding parks. This park is very dog friendly and don’t have breed restrictions. More of a case by case to if the show aggression. There is a lot of water with the river and several small pond areas. Lots of wildlife and alligators. Me and wife live the walks to see what we may see.
Jan 13, 2024 · Ralph PlaceWe love it here! We visit every year. During the winter months the lagoon is not busy and it’s fabulous! The staff is so unbelievably nice and professional. The spots where we like over by the pool are sandy so you sink in, we wished we brought some wood to put our stands on. Also be sure to bring a large outdoor mat. There is a mineral smell (boiled egg) but that is the water and it’s natural, just be prepared for it.I do wish they would add fans in the laundry room so you don’t melt while doing laundry.
