Welcome Home Community Office Introduce
Are you searching for "RV parks near me" in the Wichita, Kansas area and exploring options for a more long-term stay or even homeownership? Welcome Home Community Office, located at 5111 S Meridian Ave, Wichita, KS 67217, presents a unique opportunity with its rent-to-own trailer options, potentially offering a different path compared to traditional RV parks. You can contact them at (316) 524-3400 or +1 316-524-3400 for more information.
Based on a detailed review from a long-term resident of four years, Welcome Home Community appears to foster a positive and responsive living environment. The property managers and maintenance staff are consistently praised for their "timely" responses and helpfulness. This is a significant advantage for residents, ensuring that concerns are addressed efficiently.
A key feature of Welcome Home Community is the "rent to own" model for the trailers. This means that while internal home maintenance falls under the tenant's responsibility, any issues outside the home are handled by the community's maintenance team. The reviewer shared a positive experience where the maintenance staff resolved an unexpected power outage promptly and free of charge, highlighting their dedication and efficiency. The proactive communication from the management, including advance notice via text messages about water line shutdowns, street closures, or changes in trash collection schedules, further contributes to a well-informed and organized community.
The resident also noted that while rent has increased slightly over time, these increases were communicated well in advance and remain "well below other neighborhoods in the area." This suggests that Welcome Home Community strives to maintain affordability while providing a certain level of service and upkeep.
However, prospective residents should be aware of the community's emphasis on lawn care. The review mentions that the management can be "picky" about lawn maintenance, issuing notices on Fridays to mow grass if it's deemed too tall, with a $40 charge for non-compliance by the following Monday. While the resident found this "a little annoying," they also understood the community's desire to maintain a neat appearance and counter negative stereotypes associated with "trailer parks." This indicates a commitment to community aesthetics, which may be a pro for some and a con for others.
Overall, the resident describes the neighborhood as "typically calm, quiet, and clean," fostering a sense of safety and providing an enjoyable environment for walks with family. Despite a few minor "hiccups" over the years, the reviewer's positive experience underscores the potential for a comfortable long-term living situation.
It's important to also consider a review from an individual who made pick-ups and deliveries to the location. While this perspective doesn't reflect the experience of a resident, it offers insights into the community's layout and upkeep. This reviewer noted that the streets are "a little narrow" and the cul-de-sacs are "very small to get turned around in," which could be a consideration for those with larger vehicles or trailers. They also mentioned that the numbering system for houses can be "strange," potentially making navigation within the community challenging for visitors. However, they did acknowledge that the community appeared "seemingly clean and well maintained."
Considering these perspectives, Welcome Home Community offers a unique living experience that blends aspects of a mobile home park with a potential pathway to homeownership through their rent-to-own program. Compared to traditional "RV parks near me," it appears to prioritize a sense of community, proactive management, and a commitment to maintaining the neighborhood's appearance. The responsive maintenance and clear communication are significant advantages highlighted by a long-term resident.
However, potential residents should be prepared for the emphasis on lawn care and be mindful of the potentially narrow streets and confusing numbering system if they anticipate frequent visitors or have larger vehicles. The rent-to-own model also implies a different level of responsibility for internal home maintenance compared to renting a space in an RV park.
For local users seeking a more permanent housing solution than temporary RV stays, Welcome Home Community presents an interesting option. The rent-to-own program could be particularly attractive to those looking to build equity while residing in a stable community. The positive feedback regarding management responsiveness and community upkeep suggests a well-run environment.
To gain a comprehensive understanding, it is recommended that interested individuals contact Welcome Home Community Office directly at (316) 524-3400 or +1 316-524-3400 to inquire about the rent-to-own process, current availability, specific community rules and regulations, and to address any questions arising from these reviews. A visit to the community would also provide valuable firsthand insight into the environment and layout.
In conclusion, Welcome Home Community offers a distinct alternative to typical "RV parks near me" in Wichita, providing a long-term residential setting with a rent-to-own option, responsive management, and a focus on community maintenance. While the emphasis on lawn care and the internal street layout are points to consider, the overall positive experiences shared by a long-term resident suggest a welcoming and well-managed community for those seeking a more permanent housing solution.

Welcome Home Community Office Reviews
I have lived here for 4 years now and have grown to really love it. The property managers and maintenance staff always respond in a timely manner and are very helpful. The trailers are rent to own, so issues inside the home are the tenant's responsibility, but any issues outside the home they will take care off. My power went out unexpectedly in January during 30° weather. When I contacted Evergy they said they couldn't do anything about it because on their end my power was on and to call an electrician. I called Joel the next day instead and he said it was good I called them first because maintenance would take care of it for free, and they did that same day! Joel was very diligent in updating me about the issue while I was at work and I was extremely relieved to come home to a warm house that night. The staff and maintenance have always been very helpful and answer questions. They send out text messages to the community in advance if water lines are scheduled to be shut off for maintenance, if certain streets close for repairs, or if the trash day is moved due to a holiday or weather. They keep the community informed. Rent has increased a bit since I first moved in, but they always gave notice months in advance and it is still well below other neighborhoods in the area. My ONLY real complaint is how picky they can be about lawn care at times. If your grass is too tall they will give you a notice on Friday to mow it or they will charge $40 to do it for you the following Monday. They prefer the lawns short. It's a little annoying, but I can understand wanting to keep the neighborhood looking nice, especially since "trailer parks" have a stereotype. The neighborhood is typically calm, quiet, and clean. There have been a few hiccups over the years, but I've always felt safe here and enjoy walking around the neighborhood with my family. All in all, I have enjoyed living here!
Aug 16, 2024 · Baylee BristowFull disclosure: this review is solely from the perspective of making pick-ups and deliveries to the location, I've never lived there or transacted business with the owners. The streets are a little narrow and the cul de sacs are very small to get turned around in. If you're pulling a trailer it's very snug at best. The numbering system is strange making finding houses annoying too. Otherwise, seemingly clean and well maintained.
Jun 10, 2024 · DOOD JQuick to grab your money but won't put any of it back into the park. The office staff are useless and only care about taking your money and won't help with anything. They will also illegally change your locks BEFORE your final move out day and refuse to let you into your unit to let you finish moving out. Sketchy and grubby management for sure.
Mar 25, 2024 · Ashlee BaugherDon’t have any issues with the management team, but definitely not happy the rent increase is $30.00 starting 2024. I can understand an increase, but by $30.00!? That’s not even realistic! We are already in recession and most of us living in poverty… can’t barely afford food in the house but let’s spend $30.00 on rent instead of groceries! $70.00 barley gets you dinner for ONE NIGHT! That’s half the increase of this lot rent! Ugh!
Dec 10, 2023 · Jessica JaegerIt's cool gas stations are close to Welcome Home and that you can Live here with big Trailers and fit a lot of stuff here but it might not feel comfortable at first but the more you live In Welcome Home the more you get comfortable and used to the environment.
