Withlacoochee Backwaters RV & MH Park Introduce
For local users in the Dunnellon, Florida area searching for "RV parks near me," Withlacoochee Backwaters RV & MH Park, located at 19151 SE 135th Ct, Dunnellon, FL 34431, offers a potentially serene and welcoming environment. Based on recent customer reviews, this park appears to have been under the friendly and helpful ownership of Rich and Pittina, who have since sold the property to an LLC. The reviews provide valuable insights into the park's atmosphere and location, which are key considerations for anyone seeking a long-term or short-term RV stay in the area.
One reviewer who moved into their unit in September found Rich and Pittina to be "very welcoming and friendly!" This positive initial experience suggests that the previous management prioritized creating a hospitable environment for new residents. The reviewer also notes that the park is "very quiet," which can be a significant draw for RV travelers seeking a peaceful retreat away from busier areas. The tranquility of Withlacoochee Backwaters RV & MH Park could make it an appealing option for those looking to relax and enjoy a slower pace of life in the Dunnellon area.
The park's name, "Withlacoochee Backwaters," and the reviewer's comment, "if you like the water with critters (lol) not me!!" clearly indicate a proximity to the Withlacoochee River or its backwaters. This waterfront location could be a major attraction for those who enjoy water-based activities such as fishing, kayaking, or simply being near the water. The mention of "critters" suggests that the natural environment around the water is active with wildlife, which might appeal to nature enthusiasts. However, as the reviewer humorously notes, it might not be for everyone, especially those less fond of aquatic wildlife.
Despite the reviewer's personal preference regarding the "critters," they conclude that the park is "a great place to call home!!" This strong endorsement speaks to the overall positive living experience within the community. Furthermore, they mention that "Neighbors are very nice!!" highlighting a friendly and community-oriented atmosphere among the residents. A welcoming neighborly environment can significantly enhance the quality of life for both short-term and long-term RVers.
Adding to the welcoming ambiance is the "Smily face sign welcoming to driveway!!" This small detail suggests a friendly and inviting initial impression upon arrival at the park. Such personal touches can contribute to a positive overall feeling about a place.
Another reviewer, new to full-time RV living, also had a highly positive experience with the previous owners, Rick and Pettina (likely the same individuals as Rich and Pittina mentioned in the other review). They describe the owners as "extremely helpful and welcoming!" This is particularly important for those new to RV living, as having supportive and knowledgeable management can make the transition much smoother. The reviewer expresses gratitude for stopping in and asking for information, calling it the "Best decision I’ve made lately. 🏕️" This enthusiastic feedback underscores the positive impact of the previous owners on the residents' experiences.
However, a crucial piece of information is that Rich and Pittina "have since sold the place to an LLC." The first reviewer expresses hope that "the place does not change!" This introduces an element of uncertainty for the future of the park. While the positive aspects highlighted in the reviews – the quiet environment, the waterfront location, the friendly neighbors, and the welcoming atmosphere – were established under the previous ownership, the new management under an LLC could potentially bring changes to the park's operation, amenities, or overall environment. Local users considering Withlacoochee Backwaters RV & MH Park should be mindful of this recent change in ownership and might want to inquire about the new management's plans and policies.
The reviews do not provide specific details about the services and features offered at Withlacoochee Backwaters RV & MH Park. Typically, RV parks offer amenities such as water, electric (various amperage), and sewer hookups at individual sites. Depending on the park, there might also be restroom and shower facilities, laundry rooms, Wi-Fi access, and recreational areas. Given that the name includes "MH Park" (Mobile Home Park), it likely caters to longer-term residents as well, which could influence the types of amenities available. For RV users, it would be important to confirm the availability and quality of essential hookups and any other amenities that might be important for their stay.
Similarly, there is no specific promotional information available in the provided reviews. Local users interested in staying at Withlacoochee Backwaters RV & MH Park should contact the new management (the LLC) directly using the provided phone number, (352) 489-6691 or +1 352-489-6691, to inquire about current rates, availability, any special offers, and the policies under the new ownership. It would also be prudent to ask about any planned changes to the park's environment or services.
In conclusion, Withlacoochee Backwaters RV & MH Park in Dunnellon appears to have been a tranquil and welcoming park with a desirable waterfront location under its previous ownership. The friendly community and helpful management were significant positives highlighted by residents. However, the recent sale to an LLC introduces uncertainty about the future. Local users searching for "RV parks near me" in the Dunnellon area should consider the positive aspects mentioned in the reviews but also be aware of the change in ownership and the need to gather information about the new management's plans and the current services and features offered. Contacting the park directly is essential to get the most up-to-date information and determine if it still aligns with their needs and preferences for an RV stay.

Dec 13, 2024 · Julia SpencerMy first camper and living in it full time. I didn’t know much about living in a camper. The owners-Rick and Pettina have been extremely helpful and welcoming! I’m so glad I decided to stop in and ask for information. Best decision I’ve made lately. 🏕️
Jun 13, 2024 · Leslie BluntThis is a very nice RV/MH park. The hard work by the owners definitely shows from the moment you enter the park being greeted my a big smiley face and an airplane! The owners, are an absolute pleasure to deal with. There is no Internet or TV service at the campground, so don't be disappointed. Get out and enjoy nature.
Aug 07, 2023 · Jennifer WalczakGreat spot, wonderful owners and everyone we have met is warm and friendly. Made it there for the New Years breakfast on our first day. Delicious food! We found a keeper here! Looking forward to many years to come. 🐢🦎
Mar 08, 2023 · Gregory ARick and Bettina were so friendly, welcoming and helpful! We took the RV for an overnight trip to go to the springs the next day. Rick kindly answered my questions to help me get the RV set as it was our first time out in it. We also brought my nieces and nephews (4 children age 9 months-10 years) who were absolutely melting down after a long car ride and excitement. Certainly not ideal, but they Rick and Bettina were understanding. We were able to take the kids down by the lake and spot some baby gators and other wildlife. There was a cute sitting area and fire pit where we were able to purchase a bundle of wood and grill some burgers, hot dogs and s'mores. The area was quiet (well once the kids settled in), safe and close to the area we wanted to be. I highly recommend staying here!
