Lake Rousseau RV Resort Introduce
When searching for "RV parks near me" in the Crystal River, Florida area, Lake Rousseau RV Resort, located at 10811 N Coveview Terrace Office, is one option that may appear. This introduction aims to provide local users with a detailed, objective overview of the RV park based on the information available, including its environment, services, features, and any notable feedback from recent customers.
Lake Rousseau RV Resort advertises itself as having "nice primitive campsites and a boat ramp," as indicated in one customer's account of their initial phone inquiry. This suggests that the resort caters to RVers looking for a more basic camping experience alongside the convenience of water access for boating activities on Lake Rousseau. The presence of a boat ramp could be a significant draw for those wishing to explore the lake and enjoy water-based recreation directly from the RV park.
However, the same customer's experience upon arrival paints a less favorable picture regarding the actual condition and usability of these advertised features. The review details the discovery that the "boat ramp is completely weed choked and unusable," forcing the customer to trailer their boat to a different ramp. This discrepancy between the initial information provided and the reality on the ground is a critical point for potential visitors to consider, especially those for whom boat access is a primary reason for choosing this location.
Furthermore, the review describes significant issues with the allocated campsites. The first site was described as being "sandwiched tightly between RV's," with the added unpleasantness of a neighboring RV's "stinky slinky" (sewer hose) emptying onto the site. This raises concerns about site spacing, privacy, and basic sanitation. Upon complaining, the customer was moved to another site, also located "right between 2 RV's, on the main drag," which suggests a lack of desirable alternatives and potential issues with noise and traffic within the park.
The financial aspect of this particular customer's experience is also noteworthy. The campsite was booked "site unseen" for $80, which the reviewer considered "the most expensive campsite of my life." Despite the significant issues encountered, the resort reportedly refused a refund, leaving the customer with no choice but to "take the hit." This account highlights potential concerns regarding the value proposition and the resort's customer service policies when issues arise.
The reviewer's overall impression of Lake Rousseau RV Resort is quite negative, describing it as "as crowded as a Walmart parking lot" and stating that visitors "will not find peace." This suggests a potentially high density of RVs and a lack of the tranquility that many seek in an RV park setting. The strong recommendation to "steer clear of this crappy destination" should be taken into consideration by those prioritizing a peaceful and spacious environment.
In contrast to this negative experience, other reviews offer a more positive perspective. One reviewer praises the "staff and residents" as being "so nice," specifically mentioning Mr. Corky, Ms. Barbara, and Ms. Lori for their wonderful assistance with everything during their stay. This suggests that the resort may have friendly and helpful personnel who contribute positively to the guest experience for some visitors.
This positive review also describes the resort as "well maintained and peaceful," directly contradicting the previous reviewer's assessment of crowding and lack of peace. This highlights the potential for variability in the experience at Lake Rousseau RV Resort, or perhaps different standards and expectations among visitors. The mention of "living the life of a small community" suggests a social and connected atmosphere that some RVers may find appealing.
Another brief positive comment expresses gratitude to the Lake Rousseau RV Park staff for taking good care of a family member during their stay. This further supports the idea that the staff can be a significant asset to the resort, providing care and assistance to guests.
Considering these contrasting reviews, it is challenging to form a definitive picture of the environment and overall experience at Lake Rousseau RV Resort. Potential local users should be aware of both the positive feedback regarding friendly staff and a sense of community, as well as the significant concerns raised about campsite quality, crowding, boat ramp usability, and customer service in handling complaints.
To gain a more comprehensive understanding of the services and features offered at Lake Rousseau RV Resort, it would be beneficial to contact them directly using the provided phone numbers: (352) 795-6336 or +1 352-795-6336. When inquiring, local users may want to specifically ask about:

- The typical spacing and layout of the campsites to gauge privacy and potential crowding.
- The amenities offered, such as restrooms, showers, laundry facilities, Wi-Fi access, and any recreational areas.
- The resort's policies on refunds and complaint resolution.
- Any specific rules or regulations that might impact their stay.
Given the mixed reviews, it would also be prudent to inquire about recent improvements or changes that might address the concerns raised in the negative feedback. Asking for recent guest testimonials or perhaps even requesting to see the campsite options before booking (if feasible) could help potential visitors make a more informed decision.
At this time, there is no specific promotional information available in the provided text. Local users interested in potential discounts for local residents, extended stays, or seasonal offers should inquire directly with the resort management when contacting them.
In conclusion, Lake Rousseau RV Resort presents a complex picture for those searching for "RV parks near me" in Crystal River. While some visitors have praised the friendly staff, the sense of community, and the peaceful atmosphere, others have reported significant issues with campsite conditions, crowding, and the usability of advertised amenities like the boat ramp. Potential local users are strongly encouraged to contact the resort directly, ask detailed questions based on the feedback provided, and carefully consider their priorities regarding campsite quality, amenities, and overall environment before making a booking decision.

Lake Rousseau RV Resort Reviews
Called and was told they have nice primitive campsites and a boat ramp. Booked a night, site unseen, for $80!!! Most expensive campsite of my life. I get there early Saturday to discover the boat ramp is completely weed choked and unusable. So have to trailer to a different ramp. The campsite they gave me was sandwiched tightly between RV's, with one's "stinky slinky" emptying into the ground on my site. No way, complained, and they gave me a new site, right between 2 RV's, on the main drag. NO. They won't refund my $80. I had no choice but to take the hit. This place is as crowded as a Walmart parking lot. You will not find peace. They do not have an operational boat ramp. And they're so hungry for money, they will not refund you. Steer clear of this crappy destination.

It's living the life of a small community and I love it there. Best RV Resort I've been to.Thank you Lake Rousseau RV Park staff for taking such good care of my daughter and my grandson during their stay there.
May 31, 2024 · Patricia PerryWe can't speak highly enough about this campground! The people here, the staff here, are the friendliest we have ever experienced! We honestly felt like home, and really hated to leave.I highly recommend slip #77, which has a front and center view of Lake Rousseau. We have never seen so much wildlife in one place before either. We are definitely looking forward to returning soon.

Oct 22, 2024 · Scotty StullAbsolutely love the spot we camped in. Great view. Quiet. Nice people. Alligators can be seen daily. If you don’t bother them they won’t bother you.
