Based on recent feedback from campers, Baker Creek State Park Campground boasts significant potential, primarily due to its stunning natural setting. A key highlight is that the majority of the campsites are situated directly on the lakefront, providing campers with beautiful and unobstructed views of the water. Waking up to such scenery can truly enhance the camping experience, offering a sense of tranquility and immersion in nature right from your campsite.
In terms of facilities, the campground receives positive remarks for its clean and modern bathhouses. Clean and well-maintained restrooms and showers are essential for a comfortable camping trip, and the positive feedback suggests that Baker Creek State Park Campground meets these expectations. Additionally, the staff is consistently described as nice and helpful, contributing to a welcoming and supportive atmosphere for visitors. Friendly and accommodating staff can significantly enhance a camper's overall experience, providing assistance and information as needed.
While the campground offers many appealing aspects, some areas are currently undergoing improvements. Reviewers have noted that certain campsites and roadways have been affected by washout, resulting in uneven dirt and paved surfaces. This is an important point for local users to be aware of, particularly those with mobility concerns or specific requirements for their camping setup. However, the feedback also indicates that the park authorities are actively working on solutions to address these issues, suggesting a commitment to improving the overall infrastructure of the campground.
Adding to the convenience and appeal of Baker Creek State Park Campground is the recent addition of a camp store. This new facility stocks typical camping essentials and other items that campers might need during their stay, eliminating the need to travel to nearby towns for basic supplies. The presence of a well-stocked camp store can significantly enhance the convenience of a camping trip, providing access to necessities and perhaps even some treats.
Furthermore, improvements are also underway in other areas of the park. The pavilion decking has been updated, suggesting an enhanced space for gatherings and enjoying the park's amenities. Excitingly, a new beach area is reported to be nearing completion and is expected to be ready for the summer season. A beach within a state park campground offers a fantastic recreational opportunity for swimming, sunbathing, and enjoying the lake in a designated area. This upcoming addition is a significant draw for local families and individuals looking to cool off and enjoy water activities during the warmer months.
Another reviewer described the park as "big and rugged looking," which might appeal to those who appreciate a more natural and less manicured environment. This ruggedness is also reflected in the condition of the main road, which is noted as being a bit rough. Campers should be prepared for potentially uneven road surfaces within the park. Despite the rugged terrain, the reviewer also highlighted that there are "a great deal of good spots to access the water," reinforcing the park's strong connection to the lake and the opportunities for lakeside activities.
The hosts at Baker Creek State Park Campground are also mentioned as being friendly, echoing the sentiment about the helpful staff. The facilities are described as "just enough," suggesting that while they might not be overly elaborate, they meet the basic needs of campers. This aligns with the positive feedback about the clean and modern bathhouses, indicating that essential amenities are well-maintained.

Baker Creek State Park Campground Reviews
This state park has much potential despite not having many campsites. On a good note most sites are lake front with good views. Bathhouses are clean and modern. Staff is nice and helpful. Where the problem lies is areas of washout have taken over some of the campsites and created some uneven dirt and paved roadways. They are working on solutions it appears. A new to me camp store is now open with typical items you would expect. The pavilion decking has been updated and the new to me beach area is looking about ready for the summer.
May 06, 2023 · William Cain (Old Medic Doc)Big and rugged looking park. The main road is a bit rough. Not a lot of campsites and some being worked on. A great deal of good spots to access the water though. Hosts are friendly. Facilities are just enough.
May 31, 2022 · Galina DifortCamp site entry was dangerous do to lack of maintenance. Pictures of campsites on website are old maybe 10 years old or more. Bath house is stocked daily but was not cleaned even one time in the week we stayed. Bath house also needs repairs. Water pipes are exposed in entryways to many campsites. Tree maintenance needs to be done. Many large tree limbs fell.
Jun 14, 2020 · Brandon BrooksEnjoyed our very short stay. Would be 5 star if bathrooms were updated and we enjoy a little more space between sites. We were also there in the off season and did not interact with the staff. Just a couple nights sleep and enjoying a youth hunt in the area.
Jan 07, 2024 · Doug SlaytonAbsolutely STUNNING campgrounds! Only gave 4 stars because we could not get cell phone reception nor wifi, so we had to leave early because we work from home. So if you need reception, I wouldn't reccomend....but the views & campsites are just incredible
