Beavertail Hill Campground Introduce
For local residents in Montana searching for "camping near me" in the vicinity of Clinton, Beavertail Hill Campground, located at 29895 Bonita Station Rd, Clinton, MT 59825, USA, presents an appealing option for a relaxing outdoor experience. Based on recent customer reviews, this campground offers a blend of natural beauty, convenient amenities, and access to various recreational activities, making it a noteworthy consideration for your next camping trip.
Environment and Features:
Beavertail Hill Campground is consistently described as "beautiful," suggesting a scenic natural setting that campers can appreciate. One of the standout features is a 1.6-mile nature trail that encircles the campground. This provides an easily accessible opportunity for leisurely walks, enjoying the local flora and fauna, and immersing oneself in the peaceful surroundings without having to venture far from the campsite. The presence of a small lake within a short distance of the campground adds another dimension to the recreational possibilities. This lake is suitable for paddleboarding, swimming, and kayaking, offering a refreshing way to spend a warm day. Additionally, the area is noted for good fishing and biking opportunities nearby, catering to those who enjoy more active outdoor pursuits.
The campground itself appears to be well-maintained, with one reviewer specifically mentioning "Very clean bathrooms (flushable🙂)." This is a significant amenity that often enhances the camping experience, providing a level of comfort and hygiene that might not be available at more rustic campgrounds. The presence of a friendly and knowledgeable Camp Host is also highlighted, suggesting that campers can expect assistance and helpful information about the area.
Services and Amenities:
Based on the available reviews, Beavertail Hill Campground offers the following services and amenities:
- Flushable Toilets: The availability of clean flushable toilets is a notable convenience for campers.
- Camp Host: A friendly and knowledgeable Camp Host is on-site, providing assistance and local information.
- Nature Trail: A beautiful 1.6-mile nature trail encircles the campground, perfect for walking and enjoying the scenery.
- Proximity to a Small Lake: A lake suitable for paddleboarding, swimming, and kayaking is located within a short distance.
- Nearby Fishing and Biking: Good opportunities for fishing and biking are available in the vicinity of the campground.
- Cell Phone Service (Verizon): According to one reviewer, Verizon cell phone service works perfectly at the campground, which can be important for staying connected or in case of emergencies. However, another review notes "Mobile signal is weak," indicating that coverage might be variable or depend on the carrier.
- Nearby Restaurant, Bakery, and RV Dump: Conveniently located just 4 miles away is a restaurant and bakery, which also offers an RV dump station – the closest one to the campground.
Potential Drawbacks:
While the reviews are largely positive, there is one significant amenity that Beavertail Hill Campground lacks: showers. One reviewer pointed this out, stating "No showers but you can Wade across the river and splash yourself." This suggests that campers looking for showering facilities will need to find alternatives, such as using portable camping showers or seeking facilities outside the campground. The mention of wading across the river for a makeshift wash highlights the resourcefulness of campers but also underscores the absence of dedicated shower facilities.
Another point to consider is the conflicting information regarding mobile signal strength. While one user reported perfect Verizon service, another noted a weak signal. This suggests that cell phone reception might be unreliable or carrier-dependent, and campers should be prepared for potentially limited connectivity.

Sep 07, 2024 · Aimer From OrkneyWe come here every year. This year, we came back on 3 occasions. The campsite is beautiful. The nature trail is just long enough for a nice walk. The river has plenty of access. Restrooms are clean! It’s dog friendly. It's just a wonderful place to stay. We love Montana!
