Oct 28, 2024 · Allison JordanI really love staying at the Blackwoods campground. The bathrooms are clean, and it’s quiet after 10pm. The amphitheater is a really fun place for stargazing. You need a park pass to camp here, and the camping sites are a bit close to each other.
Sep 01, 2024 · Arpit JainAmazing campsites, with plenty of room for tents and a cute lil fireplace. The bathrooms were clean and tidy. Highly recommended to stay here if you're visiting Acadia!
Aug 13, 2024 · Tanvi AjantiwalayThis is a great location for camping in Acadia National Park. The roads are paved, it's nicely wooded and spaciously laid out making the sites semi-private. There are no showers but we found a pay shower with laundry facility a short distance from the campground entrance. It's just a short hike to find some great scenic views of Otter Cove. Plan your daily trips around the island to take into account the one way drive!
Aug 02, 2023 · DWe were looking forward to camping here but you never know who is going to camp next to you. Unfortunately, we had a bunch of guys next to us that seemed to think the F word had to be used as every other word and yelled throughout the campground they were extremely loud and seating and yelling even when walking to the bathroom or dumpster. It seemed that the quiet time didn't apply to them, so you had to listen to it all into the late night, and again, early in the morning, it would start over. I'm sure those with kids didn't appreciate it either. They left at the end of the weekend so the rest of our stay was great. We never saw a ranger in the campground, and there was no camp host. The bathrooms were not very clean. The men's bathroom never had toilet paper, and the women's bathroom was out of soap. You had to bring your own. I think they refilled it sometime towards the end of our stay. There is no where to dry your hands, which I thought was odd for a national park. I've never stayed in one that didn't have hand towels or a hand dryer. Be sure to bring a towel or paper towels with you. Maybe carry extra toilet paper too. Our site was a perfect size for us. You are close to your neighbors, but that's okay since most are respectful and quiet. We were in a small trailer, but you could easily have a large tent or several tents instead of a trailer. They have great tent sites. They are spacious. We were in the B loop and stayed a week. There are no hook ups in the campground, it is adry camp. There is an Island Explorer bus that comes into the campground to pick you up and take you to several locations. It was a wonderful thing to have.
