Boynton Landing Introduce
Looking for a unique and potentially secluded "camping near me" experience centered around river access? Boynton Landing, located at 5183 Boynton Cutoff Rd, Vernon, FL 32462, offers a distinctive option for those seeking a quiet and private spot directly on the Choctawhatchee River. Based on the available customer reviews, Boynton Landing appears to be primarily a well-developed boat ramp area with a single, reservable campsite.
Environment and Location: Boynton Landing is situated in Vernon, Florida, and provides direct access to the Choctawhatchee River, a significant waterway in the Florida Panhandle. One review notes its location off of Highway 79, just north of Panama City Beach (PCBeach), indicating a relatively accessible location. The environment is clearly riverine, offering waterfront views and the natural sounds of the river. The mention of a "big river" suggests a substantial body of water, likely suitable for boating, fishing, and enjoying the riverside scenery. The quietness reported by one reviewer implies a peaceful setting, undisturbed by excessive noise, even from early morning boaters.
Services and Features: The customer reviews provide specific details about the limited but notable services and features at Boynton Landing:
- Well-Developed Boat Ramp: This is a primary feature, indicating easy access to the Choctawhatchee River for boaters.
- Porta John: The presence of a portable toilet suggests basic sanitation facilities are available.
- Reservation Required: This implies that the single campsite must be booked in advance.
- Only ONE Spot: This is a crucial piece of information, highlighting the exclusivity and privacy of this camping location. It's not a traditional campground with multiple sites.
- Pavilion/Concrete Pad: The campsite includes a pavilion, likely offering some shelter, and a concrete pad, which could be for parking or setting up camping equipment.
- Directly on the River: The campsite's immediate proximity to the Choctawhatchee River is a significant draw for those who want to be right on the water.
Given that there is only one campsite, the services and features are concentrated on making that single spot functional and enjoyable for the reserved party. The combination of a boat ramp, pavilion, and river access suggests it's particularly well-suited for those who plan to engage in boating or fishing activities on the Choctawhatchee River.
Promotional Aspects and Why Choose Boynton Landing: For local users in the "camping near me" category seeking a unique and private waterfront camping experience, Boynton Landing offers an exclusive opportunity. Boynton Landing Reviews
It was quiet, private and those launching their boats at dark o'clock in the morning before sunrise are as quiet as can be.
Mar 25, 2025 · RaquelThis is a well developed boat ramp on the Choctawhatchee River off of Hwy79 just north of PCBeach….Porta John…..reservation required…..only ONE spot…..Pavillion/ concrete pad……Directly on the River, big river…..
Mar 18, 2025 · SPOK ARTThis is a place to put your boat in the river, and a place to sleep for free. I went there just to sleep. It's close to a couple homes. There's a portapotty stinking up the sleeping area, so I put my tent in the parking area. The whole place is quite small, sandwiched between the river and a swamp. The owls and jumping sturgeon were making a ruckus that night.
