For those seeking a traditional camping experience, Buffalo Bay Campground offers a "hidden gem" for tent campers. Initially, some visitors might have reservations due to the campground's proximity to a casino. However, the tent sites are thoughtfully designed and positioned to be neatly tucked away from the view of the casino building, ensuring a more natural and secluded ambiance. A significant advantage of these tent sites is their direct placement on the lakefront. This provides campers with absolutely gorgeous views right from their campsite, allowing them to wake up to the serene beauty of the water and enjoy breathtaking sunsets. The immersive natural setting is a key feature that appeals to those looking for a peaceful lakeside retreat.
In terms of essential amenities for campers, Buffalo Bay Campground provides indoor showers and bathrooms, which are available free of charge with a reservation. This is a significant convenience and adds value to the camping experience, ensuring comfort and hygiene for guests. The availability of these facilities eliminates the need for campers to rely on potentially less convenient outdoor options or incur extra costs for showers, making it a more attractive proposition for those who appreciate these comforts.
The pricing for tent campsites is also clearly stated at $33, tax included. This transparent pricing allows campers to budget effectively for their trip without unexpected additional costs. The reasonable price point, combined with the stunning lakefront views and free access to indoor showers and bathrooms, positions Buffalo Bay Campground as an attractive and value-for-money option for tent campers in the region.

Buffalo Bay Marina is by far the best spot to have a boat at the Apostle Islands! The proximity and amenities like a restaurant, pool and hot tub are just some of the reasons I love it here. The staff is always doing there best to make this little piece of paradise spectacular!
Jun 08, 2024 · Shelly HollandA hidden gem of a campsite! Originally we had our doubts due to it's close proximity to the Casino, but all tent sites are neatly tucked away from view of the building. The views that are provided are absolutely gorgeous, as each site is placed directly on the lake.Indoor showers and bathrooms are provided as well for free with a reservation!Tent campsites are $33, tax included.
Jul 09, 2023 · Rakkety DashCatching up on helpful Google reviews from previous stays. I usually place reviews on Campendium for RV parks.----------------Good location. Campground has a comfy natural setting but could use some maintenance/upkeep.Stayed 2 nights in mid-July 2023.Site type: Back-in, water and electric (50 amp) with grass3 stars solely because of the location on the water.$45/night3 nightsSite #11THE GOOD:Town is close: Bayfield is only 7 ish minutes away.Gas/Food: Gas is right near the campground (1-2 min)The view: from behind our site was amazing and you can just drop in a kayak about 100 feet away.THE BAD:Site 21: We had a planned move to this site but it is positioned perpendicular to the other sites and very awkward. See satellite view before booking as an FYI.WORTH NOTING (Not good or bad)Sites: All sites are water and electric only. Oddly shaped sites that are tighter than most.Check-in: Go directly to the casino check-in desk.Connectivity: AT&T only and is minimal.Better site views: Choose sites 09, 07, and 05 if you would like to have a campfire with a view on the water.
Apr 25, 2024 · Nick FLoved it here. We had site 1 right on the lake and it was beautiful. It was great to sit out by the fire, next to the lake, and see the Apostle islands stretch off into the distance. It is a short drive to Bayfield, which is a nice little town with plenty of restaurants and shops to peruse. We did the Apostle Islands tour from there as well which was well worth the price. Nice little casino onsite as well. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and will come back if we plan another trip to this area.
Jul 09, 2023 · Keith LathropWe loved our stay here! Campgrounds are kept very clean. The workers are very friendly. The showers and bathroom area is very nice. Plus the casino is very nice too! We loved our stay here so much we kept extending our trip to stay longer! :)
