Burney Falls / Hat Creek KOA Holiday Introduce
Looking for exceptional "camping near me" in the stunning landscapes of Northern California? Consider Burney Falls / Hat Creek KOA Holiday, a welcoming and amenity-rich campground situated at 15565 Black Angus Ln, Hat Creek, CA 96040, USA. This KOA campground has garnered positive reviews from families and outdoor enthusiasts alike, making it a strong contender for your next camping adventure. With a phone number of (530) 335-7418 or +1 530-335-7418, reaching out to plan your stay is easy.
Based on customer feedback, Burney Falls / Hat Creek KOA Holiday is described as a "cozy little campground with lots of trees," suggesting a shaded and pleasant environment for campers. The presence of a "nice little pond where you can do catch and release" adds a recreational element, perfect for families and those who enjoy leisurely fishing. This feature provides a relaxing activity right within the campground itself.
A significant highlight mentioned by multiple reviewers is the animal petting area. This interactive feature allows visitors, especially children, to engage with animals and even feed them, creating memorable experiences. For pet owners, the inclusion of "dog parks" is a valuable amenity, providing dedicated spaces for furry companions to exercise and socialize safely. The campground's pet-friendly nature is a definite plus for those who travel with their animals.
The staff at Burney Falls / Hat Creek KOA Holiday consistently receive praise for being "friendly and helpful." One reviewer shared an experience where a maintenance issue (a broken bench in the dog park) was addressed and resolved immediately upon being reported. This responsiveness indicates a commitment to guest satisfaction and maintaining the campground's facilities to a high standard. The overall impression is that the campground is "well kept, with clean bathrooms," which is a crucial aspect for a comfortable camping experience.
While the campground offers numerous positives, some areas for potential improvement have been noted. The Wi-Fi service is one such area, with reviewers mentioning that it is only reliably accessible near the main building or office/store. This could be a consideration for campers who require internet access for work, communication, or entertainment. If Wi-Fi at your campsite is a necessity, this limitation should be taken into account.
Another aspect to be aware of, particularly during peak seasons like holiday weekends, is the proximity of RV sites. One reviewer noted that the "RV sites are pretty close together" when the campground is full. While this might not be an issue for all campers, those seeking more space and privacy between RV setups might find this less ideal during busy times. It's advisable to inquire about site layouts and spacing when making reservations, especially if you have specific preferences regarding privacy.
For those needing laundry facilities, Burney Falls / Hat Creek KOA Holiday offers a laundromat. However, it's worth noting the reported costs: $3.00 for a wash and $3.00 for a dry. Additionally, the washing machines are described as "small," which might not be suitable for larger items like blankets. The dryer provides 45 minutes of drying time for $3.00, but one reviewer found this insufficient for a load of towels and jeans. If you plan to use the laundry facilities, consider the capacity and potential costs.
Despite these minor drawbacks, the overall consensus is that Burney Falls / Hat Creek KOA Holiday is a "great campground" and "worth trying again." The availability of amenities such as catch and release fishing at the pond, a game room, a petting zoo, and a playground makes it an excellent choice for families. Its strategic location, approximately 20 minutes from the renowned Burney Falls, further enhances its appeal. Burney Falls State Park is a must-visit destination in the area, known for its stunning and unique waterfall.
Beyond Burney Falls, the campground's location in Hat Creek, California, provides access to a wealth of outdoor activities and natural beauty. Burney Falls / Hat Creek KOA Holiday Reviews
Our family has been going travel trailer camping at Burney Falls/ Hat Creek KOA once a year for the past four summers. We absolutely love this place! It's a cozy little campground with lots of trees and a nice little pond where you can do catch and release. We love the animal petting area where you can give the animals food. Our dogs love the dog parks. The staff is friendly and helpful. If you let them know something needs fixing, like a bench in the dog park. We let them know and someone went over and fixed it immediately. The place is well kept, with clean bathrooms. I do wish the wifi was a little better. You can get wifi next to the main building only.
Aug 09, 2024 · JenPlaidXNice campground. We went on a holiday weekend so it was very full and rv sites are pretty close together. Very clean. Heads up- the wifi only works by the office/store. We didn’t need it, but if you do need it, that would be a problem. Laundromat was clean, but $3.00 for a wash and $3.00 for a dry. Washers are small. Fine for clothes, but blankets wouldn’t work. The dryer gives you 45 minutes for your $3.00, but our load of towels and jeans wasn’t dry at the end of the 45 minutes. Other than those things, it’s a great campground. Catch and release fishing at the pond, a game room, petting zoo, playground. About 20 minutes from Burney Falls. Worth trying again.
May 26, 2024 · Miguel SantiagoThis was our first time staying at Koa Holiday hat creek. We had amazing service Kelly at the front desk was helpful, friendly felt like family. All staff were personable 👋 make you feel at home. We stayed in our motorhome 35ft nice space full hookups, showers and bathrooms were huge extremely clean well maintained. My kids are 1 year old and almost for year old and park was great, they have there bikes and loved all the cement to ride and walk around
Jun 11, 2024 · Kim WoodThis is the standard all KOA's should shoot for. Very nice clean park with lots of pull-throughs and great back-in spots along the lake/pond. You are not on top of your neighbor and all the sites seemed to have fire pits. The bathrooms were the best I have seen in a KOA and they were clean. There are Kamp-K9's for your pet, play area for kids, and a great loop around the pond to walk and relax.
Sep 15, 2024 · KOI PondGreat location to camp at before heading down to SLT, coming from Lassen Volcanic NP.Very clean, nice and quiet KOA. Not too busy, and very spacious camp sites. Looks like they have a café open on the weekends and some activities for the kids. My son loved the bikes and gaming room. The laundry rooms and bathrooms were very clean. The only downfall is it's quite expensive to do laundry, 3.50 and 4.50 for washing and drying. I've been to other KOA Holidays and they don't charge that much. And WiFi only worked up near the office.
