Camp Ben Lomond Introduce
For local adventurers seeking exceptional "camping near me" in a picturesque mountain setting, Camp Ben Lomond, located at 2635 E 5100 N in Eden, Utah, offers a potentially amazing experience. Based on recent customer reviews, this campground provides both traditional campsites and a well-equipped lodge, catering to a variety of camping needs, from individual tent camping to larger family or group gatherings. Situated in the scenic area of Eden, Utah, campers can anticipate a natural environment with the beauty of the surrounding mountains.
The environment at Camp Ben Lomond is described as "amazing" by one reviewer, suggesting a setting that is likely scenic and conducive to an enjoyable outdoor experience. The mention of "decent amount of snakes," specifically garden snakes, indicates that the campground is located in a natural habitat where wildlife, though harmless in this case, may be present. This is typical of many campgrounds and highlights the importance of being aware of the local fauna. The reviewer's experience of encountering only garden snakes without any bites suggests that while wildlife is present, it may not pose a significant threat. However, it's a factor that potential visitors should be mindful of, especially those with a fear of snakes.
The services and facilities at Camp Ben Lomond appear to be well-received. One reviewer who used the campground for a "Ptm" event (the meaning of which isn't specified but implies a group activity) described it as "great." This suggests that the campground is equipped to handle group outings. Another reviewer specifically praised the lodge, noting its "well appointed kitchen and nice bathrooms," which made it comfortable and easy to organize a family gathering. This indicates that Camp Ben Lomond offers more than just basic campsites, providing options for indoor accommodations with amenities that enhance comfort and convenience, particularly for larger groups or those seeking a more sheltered experience.
A notable feature of Camp Ben Lomond is the availability of a lodge for rent, which is well-suited for family gatherings or other group events. The presence of a well-appointed kitchen and nice bathrooms in the lodge adds a level of comfort that can be particularly appealing for those who prefer more amenities than traditional tent camping offers. This makes Camp Ben Lomond a versatile option for different types of camping experiences, from rustic tent stays to more comfortable lodge accommodations.
The review also provides a crucial piece of information regarding a specific campsite: campsite 3 was reported as flooded upon arrival. While the reviewer noted that there were some dry patches, this suggests that certain areas of the campground may be susceptible to flooding under certain conditions. This is valuable information for potential campers, advising them to possibly inquire about campsite conditions, especially after periods of heavy rain or snowmelt, and perhaps avoid campsite 3 based on this feedback. The fact that the reviewer still had an overall "great experience" despite this issue speaks to the positive aspects of the rest of the campground and the overall management's handling of the situation (implied by their willingness to find dry patches). The reviewer also mentioned "some dry patches," indicating that even in a flooded site, there might be usable areas.
Despite the minor issues mentioned, the overall sentiment from the reviews is positive, with one reviewer stating they "would definitely recommend" Camp Ben Lomond. This endorsement, coupled with the praise for the lodge's facilities, suggests that the campground generally provides a high-quality experience for its visitors. The combination of a potentially scenic mountain environment, well-equipped accommodations like the lodge, and the ability to host group events makes it an attractive option for those searching for "camping near me" in the Eden, Utah area.

Camp Ben Lomond Reviews
Amazing campground, went here for Ptm and it was great. There are a decent amount of snakes though, the only kind that were found were garden snakes... No bites or anything, I don't recommend campsite 3 as it was flooded when we got there but there were some dry patches. Overall a great experience here. Would definitely recommend.
Jun 01, 2024 · Orlando PitcherWe reserved the lodge for a family gathering and it was great. A well appointed kitchen and nice bathrooms made it comfortable and easy to put our activity together. Thanks!
Nov 25, 2022 · Brad TannerThis is great environment for a church group camp. It has a lodge with indoor plumbing and a full size kitchen. There is a grass area north west of the lodge that large enough to play soccer or softball or any other large group activity. I would be requesting to camp there in the future.
Aug 11, 2017 · Jeremy Alvin TurnerThis is a wonderful Latter Day Saint camping spot. Lodge is spacious with modern working kitchen and rest rooms. Individual camp sites are well kept, stocked with firewood in season, and each has a frostproof hose bib for washing, cooking, fire control. The water has been certified safe. Ampitheater will accomodate several hundred. There are 2 fields for games and assemblies. Modern improved flag pole. Easy access to the environmental center too.
