Camp Yale Introduce
Looking for "camping near me" in the scenic McKenzie Bridge area of Oregon? Camp Yale, located at 58980 McKenzie Hwy, offers potential options for RV camping. Based on recent customer feedback, there are aspects to consider when planning your stay. While one reviewer expressed initial reluctance but was ultimately glad they stayed, another who appears to have used a lodging facility on the property noted some shortcomings. Let's delve into what Camp Yale might offer based on these limited insights.
Environment: Beautiful Area, Varied Accommodation Experiences
One consistent element from the reviews is the acknowledged beauty of the surrounding area near McKenzie Bridge. This region of Oregon is known for its stunning natural landscapes, including the McKenzie River, lush forests, and potentially access to hiking trails and other outdoor activities. If you are drawn to the natural beauty of the Oregon Cascades, Camp Yale's location could be appealing. However, the reviews also hint at different types of accommodations within Camp Yale. One reviewer mentioned RV spots, while another referred to staying in a "house" on the property, suggesting that Camp Yale might offer a range of lodging options beyond just RV camping.
The review about the house being "sub par" in terms of stocked supplies, ripped-up carpet, and broken kitchen cabinets indicates that the quality of lodging facilities (if you choose that over an RV site) might vary. This suggests that if you are considering renting a cabin or house at Camp Yale, it would be prudent to inquire about the specific condition and amenities of the unit you are booking.
Services: RV Hookups Available
For RV campers, one positive aspect highlighted is the availability of "full hook ups" at the RV spots. This is a significant convenience for RV travelers, typically including connections for water, electricity (both 30 and 50 AMP choices were mentioned), and sewer. The reviewer who stayed in an RV did note that the spots were "pretty close to each other," which might be a consideration for those seeking more space and privacy between RV sites. The mention of a desire to stay "down by the lodge" in their RV next time suggests that there might be different areas within the campground offering potentially varying experiences for RVers.
The review concerning the "house" being under-equipped suggests that services related to lodging might be less consistent. It's unclear if this reflects a general issue or was specific to the unit rented. For campers in RVs, the availability of full hookups is a definite service provided.
Features: RV Camping and Potential Lodge Area
Based on the reviews, a primary feature of Camp Yale is its provision for RV camping with full hookups. The availability of both 30 and 50 AMP electrical service caters to a range of RV sizes and power needs. The mention of a "lodge" suggests that there might be a central building or area that could offer additional features or a different type of camping/lodging experience. The reviewer's preference to stay near the lodge with their RV in the future implies that this area might have desirable qualities, such as potentially better views or access to other amenities (though these are not specified).
The presence of a "house" available for rent indicates that Camp Yale caters to more than just RVers, potentially offering cabin-style or house rentals as well. However, as noted, the quality of these accommodations might vary.
Given the location in the McKenzie Bridge area, access to outdoor recreational activities such as hiking, fishing in the McKenzie River, and exploring the surrounding natural beauty is likely a significant feature for those choosing to stay at Camp Yale.

Camp Yale Reviews
Was reluctant to stay here, glad we did. RV Spots are pretty close to each other, but we got full hook ups, 30 and 50 AMP choices. Would love to stay in our RV down by the lodge next time.
May 30, 2022 · Teresa GildersleeveThe area is beautiful but the house was sub par as far as being stocked with supplies. The carpet was all ripped up and the kitchen cabinets were broken 😢
Nov 10, 2024 · stefi mBeware of the $20 rules if you do not comply. Cabin was decent, but half empty. Minimal furniture. The sofas were very comfy and the views were great. Unfortunately the rollaway bed still had dirt on it. A lot of things seemed worn down and worn out. Would not stay a second time unfortunately.
Jun 02, 2024 · Melissa MWe stayed in a fully furnished mountain home, the kitchen was big, the bed was a king size and the unit had a huge deck. The place was very clean and the people are very nice.
Jun 12, 2021 · Rod DunlapWe stayed in RV spot #1 and loved it. Large mature trees provide ample shade (not all spots are shaded). Good utilities. Excellent access to McKenzie River Trail and its many waterfalls. Was able to mountain bike from Clear Lake all the way to the RV. (20 miles). It is close to Proxy falls and many hikes beyond it. We loved it. However, there is no connection to the outside world, so take that into account. No internet, no cell, no TV. In other words, camping! We did not take advantage of Belknap Hot Springs, although the staff there seemed very welcoming when we checked in. We simply had too many other things to explore.
