Scott Lake Campground Introduce
For those in the Sisters, Oregon area searching for “camping near me,” Scott Lake Campground, located in Sisters, OR 97759, USA, offers a potentially idyllic camping experience centered around a stunning lake and a historically rich plateau. You can reach them by phone at (541) 822-3381 or mobile phone at +1 541-822-3381 to inquire about reservations and availability.
Based on the available customer reviews, Scott Lake Campground and its surroundings are highly praised for their natural beauty and recreational opportunities. One reviewer who explored the lake on July 28, 2024, described it as "absolutely gorgeous!" They noted that the water was "really warm" to the touch and "really clear," making it potentially inviting for swimming during the late summer months. Although their visit coincided with smoky conditions, they still found the lake to be beautiful, suggesting that its inherent charm transcends temporary environmental factors. This positive feedback about the lake itself is a significant draw for those searching for “camping near me” with access to water activities.
Another reviewer highlighted the campground's pet-friendly nature, stating, "This place was perfect for my puppy and I!" This is a significant feature for many campers who enjoy traveling with their four-legged companions. Knowing that Scott Lake Campground welcomes pets can be a deciding factor for those specifically looking for “camping near me” that accommodates animals. The same reviewer also expressed a desire to explore more of the plateau on a future visit, describing it as a "really beautiful area and lots of history." This suggests that the area surrounding Scott Lake Campground offers more than just the lake itself, potentially including scenic landscapes and sites of historical interest, providing opportunities for exploration and learning beyond the immediate campsite.
The reviewer also provided a specific tip about campsite selection, mentioning that "The very first campsite is great if you have a camp toilet of your own, it is private and possibly more often vacant because of the distance from the restrooms." This is valuable insider information for potential campers. The privacy of this first campsite might appeal to those seeking a more secluded experience, and the fact that it might be less frequently occupied could increase the chances of securing it, especially during peak season. However, the trade-off is the distance to the restrooms, making it advisable to have a self-contained toilet if choosing this particular spot.
From these reviews, we can gather that the environment around Scott Lake Campground is characterized by a beautiful and clear lake, potentially warm enough for swimming in late July. The surrounding plateau is noted for its scenic beauty and historical significance, offering opportunities for exploration. The campground is also welcoming to pets, making it a suitable choice for those traveling with animals. The availability of at least one campsite that offers enhanced privacy, albeit with a longer distance to the restrooms, provides options for different camping preferences.
However, the reviews do not provide details about the specific services and amenities offered at Scott Lake Campground. When searching for “camping near me,” users often look for information on things like the types of campsites available (e.g., tent sites, RV hookups), the presence of restrooms and showers, water availability at individual sites or communal spigots, fire pits or barbecue grills, picnic tables, trash disposal facilities, and potentially recreational amenities like boat launches or hiking trails directly accessible from the campground (though one reviewer mentioned driving to explore the plateau, implying trails might not be immediately adjacent to the campsites). To get a complete picture of what Scott Lake Campground offers, it would be necessary to contact them directly using the provided phone number.
When you call Scott Lake Campground, you might want to inquire about:
- The types and number of campsites available.

Scott Lake Campground Reviews
This lake is absolutely gorgeous! We explored the lake on 7/28/24. To the touch it was really warm. Really clear water. Unfortunately it was smokey at this time but still beautiful!
Jul 29, 2024 · Reanna FoxThis place was perfect for my puppy and I! Next time I would like to explore more of the plateau, really beautiful area and lots of history. Mar 23, 2020 · GreenI had the honor of camping here in October of 2019 and I feel in love easily. The best spots are the ones you have to hike into but the view of The Sisters makes the extra effort so worth, especially on a moonlit night.
Sep 15, 2020 · M.Rodriguez PhotographyThis place is absolutely a must see for non motorized boats, etc
Aug 01, 2023 · Melissa ClearyGreat spot, but everyone knows this and it's crowded!! I recommend the hike up to Scott Mountain, the view from there is hard to beat. On the way back down head left towards Hand Lake for a 10 mile loop, it's worth it. Don't forget to look for the old covered wagon road crossing the lava flow as you are nearing Hand Lake!
