Carls Campsites Reviews
My wife and I planned a last minute trip to see the fall leaves as they turned red at Hanging Rock state park 🍂 We stayed at Carl’s Campsite and had a wonderful experience. The owners made us coffee and were exceedingly kind. The bathroom facilities were spotless when we arrived. It was a massive upgrade to have a private bathroom and shower area for just the two of us. The campsite itself was lovely, with soft sand and a babbling stream to lull us into a great nights rest, fueling our hiking adventures. Wonderful facilities, we will definitely be back to stay here again.
Oct 29, 2024 · Zach GoldsteinThis is a private, newly built, very well taken care of campground. This is not your typical campground. Each campsite has its own toilet, portable shower, water station, trash can and a hammock. They have badminton and a few other games. The river is a stone throw away and there are areas for both children to safely play in the water and for fishing. Pilot Mountain State Park is very close and a great hiking spot.Laura and Steve are great hosts. They are very welcoming and on Saturdays they do a cookout and the food was amazing. They made both meat and vegetarian dishes, and even got us "happy mother's Day" cupcakes and shared their wine with us. They put tiki torches around our campsite with the fuel that repels mosquitoes. We camp a lot and have never had such a great experience. We can't wait to go again.
Jun 14, 2024 · Aleksandar PetkovicCarl’s Campsites at Pilot Mountain hosted our group of 15 from the Women of the Triangle Hiking Club during our trail work event last fall. Our hosts Laura and Steve were so adorable, and made us the best dinner. Whenever any of us told Laura that we wanted the recipe for some of the side dishes she’d made, she answered that she just threw stuff together and didn’t know a recipe. That’s how you knowwww. 🤤The camping area was located right next to the Ararat River, and we enjoyed wading in the water despite it being a little chilly. Such a gorgeous spot, with wonderfully accommodating hosts. They also own several cute little dogs that were very sweet and friendly. Highly recommend.
Mar 25, 2024 · Lindsey WarrenFirst time camping at Carl's Campsite s, took my best friends two oldest children, who had a great time there, including myself!! Primitive camping at it's best with showers and rustic toilets available if needed, awesome campsites, good fishing, hiking and swimming. Most enjoyable experience was the cookout they offer on Saturday nights, great food, enjoyable company from other campers, and the hosts offer a great family gathering and are very enjoyable people, pleasant, friendly, and make you feel welcome! Will definitely return again! Brian H.
Sep 01, 2024 · See SawThis place is an absolute GEM! Laura and Steve are incredibly kind and generous hosts who made our 4th of July weekend exceptionally welcoming and comfortable. Our dogs enjoyed themselves swimming and running around the campsite, and we had a great time tubing down the river. The location is wonderfully secluded, allowing you to fully immerse yourself in nature. We are eagerly looking forward to our next visit! BEST CAMPSITE EVER.
