CERA Sports Park & Campground Introduce
For local residents in and around Columbus, Indiana, seeking a "camping near me" experience with a wide array of activities and amenities, CERA Sports Park & Campground, located at 3989 S 525 E, Columbus, IN 47203, USA, presents an appealing option. You can reach them at (812) 377-5849 or +1 812-377-5849 for inquiries and reservations. Based on recent customer reviews, this campground is noted for its beautiful environment, on-site restaurant, and generally helpful staff, offering a comprehensive camping and recreational experience.
The environment at CERA Sports Park & Campground is frequently praised, with reviewers highlighting "Beautiful views and a Great Lake." This suggests that the campground is situated in a scenic location with a significant body of water as a central feature, likely offering opportunities for lakeside relaxation and potentially water-based activities. The overall impression is of a picturesque setting that enhances the camping experience. The "Sports Park" aspect of the name further implies that the environment extends beyond natural beauty to include facilities for various outdoor sports and recreation.
In terms of services, CERA Sports Park & Campground appears to offer a range of conveniences for its guests. The presence of a "Restaurant" on-site is a significant amenity, providing campers with a convenient option for meals without having to leave the premises. The reviews also indicate that "Most of the staff... was very helpful and friendly," suggesting a positive service orientation, although one reviewer noted an exception with the mini-golf staff. The availability of staff to assist campers can greatly enhance the overall experience.
The campground offers various accommodation options to cater to different preferences. Reviews mention "Cabins" and campsites suitable for tents and RVs. One reviewer who stayed in a cabin noted that they are "pretty much empty," furnished with a "Full size bed with a bunk bed." They strongly advise guests to "BRING EXTRA CUSHIONS OR PADS" due to the firmness of the provided mattresses, even with the mats. This is an important piece of information for local users considering cabin rentals. Another reviewer mentioned being "allowed a tent on the cabin site," indicating some flexibility in accommodation arrangements for families or groups.
A notable feature, and a point of contention for one reviewer, is that there is a separate fee for swimming, even for those who have already paid for camping. The reviewer, who camps frequently at various locations, found this "a little odd" as it is not a common practice elsewhere. This suggests that access to the lake or a swimming facility within the sports park requires an additional charge beyond the camping fees. Local users planning to swim should factor this additional cost into their budget.
The "Sports Park" designation suggests a wide array of recreational features beyond just camping and the lake. While the reviews specifically mention a "mini golf" area (where one staff member was reportedly less helpful), the name implies the presence of other sports facilities. These could potentially include fields for various sports, courts for games like basketball or tennis, playgrounds, or other outdoor recreational amenities. This makes CERA Sports Park & Campground a potentially attractive destination for active families and individuals looking for more than just a traditional camping experience.
Given the limited information in the reviews about specific campsite amenities (e.g., hookups for RVs, fire pits, picnic tables), local users planning to camp in tents or RVs should inquire about these details when making reservations. Understanding the types of campsites available and the amenities provided at each site will help ensure a comfortable and well-prepared camping trip.
Currently, the provided reviews do not contain any specific promotional information for CERA Sports Park & Campground. Local users interested in any special rates, package deals that might include access to the sports facilities or swimming, or seasonal discounts should contact the campground directly at the provided phone numbers. It would be beneficial to inquire about any potential bundled offers for camping and activities within the sports park.
In conclusion, CERA Sports Park & Campground near Columbus, Indiana, offers a multifaceted "camping near me" experience with a beautiful lake, on-site restaurant, and a range of accommodation options including campsites and basic cabins. The presence of a sports park suggests numerous recreational activities beyond camping, although specific details about these facilities require further inquiry. Local users considering cabin rentals should be aware of the basic furnishings and the recommendation to bring extra bedding. A notable point is the separate fee for swimming, which may be unexpected for some campers. Despite this, the overall positive feedback regarding the environment and helpful staff (with one exception) suggests that CERA Sports Park & Campground can be an "amazing" destination, particularly for those seeking an active camping getaway with diverse amenities. Direct contact with the campground is recommended to obtain detailed information about campsite amenities, sports facilities, swimming fees, and any current promotions.

CERA Sports Park & Campground Reviews
This campground was amazing!! Most of the staff (with the exception of the gentleman working mini golf) was very helpful and friendly. Restaurant was great! Beautiful views and a Great Lake.
Jun 10, 2024 · Debbie PapkeVery nice and clean campground. Not the cheapest place but there is a lot to do. Not a big fan of having to pay to swim when we already paid to camp there. Seemed a little odd to me as someone who camps at a lot of different places. I’ve never had to pay to swim except here.Cabins are pretty much empty. Full size bed with a bunk bed. BRING EXTRA CUSHIONS OR PADS. Even with the mat they provide it’s still very very firm.We were allowed a tent on the cabin site so it made for a fun family weekend.
Nov 14, 2022 · BLACK HAY_ZUESThis is a great place overall! They have so much to offer for everyone. We rented a cabin for the weekend. The beds were big enough for mom and dad in the main one and a kid in each bunk. Cabin had good working AC. We had an amazing few of the pond right out side of our cabin. We had a sufficient fire pit and 2 picnic tables at our site. We were close to the restrooms. Restrooms we clean and never crowded. We spent 3 days on the go kart track in the back. The track is not a rental track but is a bring your own type. We brought our 5 karts to get some practice in before a big upcoming trace at a local track. This was great! We also spent a day at the pool, so much fun for the adults and kids. Everything was responsible on prices. There’s a nice little store up front when you pull into the park just Incase you forgot anything. We were able to take nice walks around the park every morning. There are parks for the kids strategically placed through out so the kids had a blast ridding their scooters from park to park.
Feb 21, 2019 · Aaron MullI can't believe how much they charge for this place. All I wanted was place to park while I worked in the area. Got charged $870 for 14 days. For a Rock lot and no shade. A picnic table that should have been put in the dumpster 10 years ago. The breaker would pop, so I had to plug in to the space next to me. Called and told them about it, never came by and fixed it. Heard I would have to pay to use the pool. Would not recommend this place to anyone. I can stay at the best RV resort in Golf shores AL for $1000 a month. Never stay here again. And tell everyone I know to stay away from this dump.
Jul 17, 2023 · Dennis PetersonThe park in general is very clean ,well spaced, extremely comfortable and a favorite spot for our group 30 African-American (campers. Our camping group loves to visit ceraland. The grounds staff needs alittle training on how to treat the campers. we had an encounter with Judy (the manager) who had a chip on her shoulder from the time she walked onto our site . She tried to chastised me like I was a kid because the way i parked the rv , mind you the security guy watched me do it . She said that I potentially had damage the water line by crossing over it while parking . I told her that my day at work was extremely difficult and stressful and all I wanted to do was to get set up so I could have a beer and let the beauty of the camp site take the day away . Judy proceeded to say she was at the bar with her drink and this situation was impeding on her night . After that situation, the play renta cop continued to hassle the others in the group by telling them as they were riding their golf carts after the concert ,that he could take the carts , rvs and license for being out after 10pm. One of the camper’s is a retired IPD and challenged him but we noticed others riding around well past that curfew time ( one of the other people came over on his cart like 12 or so told us that he had been riding all week and had not been stopped not once) . So why was our group hassled and harassed ? I could say because our rvs were big and beautiful but in my mind it’s because of our skin color . So this is a warning to my brothers and sisters of the darker persuasion beware and be careful. We will probably will come back because the grounds is soooo nice .i just hope and pray that the staff will have so training for Inclusion of any and everybody that Chooses to spend money and time at this beautiful grounds.Sincerely, serious camping groupIndiana campsations .
