Cherokee Campground & RV Park Introduce
For local adventurers seeking the perfect "camping near me" experience, we're delighted to introduce you to Cherokee Campground & RV Park, situated at 2800 Co Rd 93, Helena, AL 35080, USA. This campground offers a convenient escape into nature, providing a range of options for overnight stays and longer camping trips. Whether you're an RV enthusiast or prefer the traditional tent camping experience, Cherokee Campground & RV Park aims to cater to your needs within easy reach of your local community.
Based on customer reviews, Cherokee Campground & RV Park boasts a "beautiful location" characterized by being "heavily treed." This suggests a serene and shaded environment, ideal for those looking to immerse themselves in nature and enjoy the tranquility of a wooded setting. Imagine setting up camp surrounded by mature trees, providing ample shade during warmer months and a picturesque backdrop for your outdoor retreat. The natural beauty of the location appears to be a significant draw for visitors seeking a peaceful camping experience close to home.
While one review mentioned they "can't speak to the amenities" due to an overnight stop, other aspects of the services and features can be gleaned from the available information. The friendly and helpful nature of the owner was specifically highlighted, suggesting a welcoming and supportive atmosphere for guests. This personal touch can significantly enhance the overall camping experience, especially for those new to the area or requiring assistance during their stay.
For RV travelers searching under the "camping near me" category, Cherokee Campground & RV Park provides "gravelled parking" deemed "ample" for a 35' motorhome and a 12' trailer. This indicates that the park offers suitable parking spaces for larger recreational vehicles, a crucial feature for RV enthusiasts. However, one important consideration for RV owners, particularly those with taller rigs, is the presence of "some of the overhead wires" that are "pretty low." Campers with vehicles exceeding 13' in height are advised to exercise caution when pulling into the park to avoid any potential issues.
While the levelness of the sites was mentioned as "not as level as we’d prefer" by one reviewer, they still found it "workable." This suggests that while some leveling adjustments might be necessary, the sites are generally usable for camping. It's always a good practice to carry leveling blocks for your RV or tent setup to ensure a comfortable and stable camping experience, regardless of the terrain.
A notable feature mentioned in one of the reviews is a potential discount offered to veterans. This recognition and appreciation for military service members can be a significant benefit for local veterans seeking affordable camping options within the "camping near me" category. It is recommended that veterans inquire about this potential discount when making their reservations.
Regarding potential drawbacks, one reviewer expressed their dissatisfaction with a policy of "passing on to the customer a small fee they are charged by their software provider despite paying cash." While acknowledging this isn't unique to Cherokee Campground & RV Park, it's a point of consideration for budget-conscious campers. It might be worthwhile to inquire about all potential fees when booking your stay to avoid any unexpected charges.
Currently, the provided information does not include any specific promotional offers or seasonal discounts for Cherokee Campground & RV Park. However, for local users exploring the "camping near me" category, the campground's proximity to Helena, AL, its beautiful, heavily treed location, and the friendly owner can be seen as inherent advantages. To discover any current promotions, special rates, or information about long-term stays, it is best to contact Cherokee Campground & RV Park directly using the provided phone numbers: (205) 428-8339 or +1 205-428-8339.
In conclusion, Cherokee Campground & RV Park presents a potentially attractive option for local campers searching within the "camping near me" category. Its beautiful, shaded environment and the friendly owner are positive aspects highlighted by visitors. RV owners will appreciate the ample gravel parking, though they should be mindful of low overhead wires if their vehicle is over 13' tall. While some sites might require leveling, and a small processing fee for cash payments was noted, the overall experience seems positive, especially for those valuing a natural setting and a welcoming atmosphere. Local veterans may also benefit from a potential discount. We encourage you to reach out to Cherokee Campground & RV Park directly to inquire about availability, specific site conditions, and any current promotions to plan your next local camping getaway.

Cherokee Campground & RV Park Reviews
Beautiful location. We stay here every year for a few nights. Site is not as level as we’d prefer but workable. Not a fan of the policy of passing on to the customer a small fee they are charged by their software provider despite paying cash for our stay. Passing on “back-office” fees to the customer seems to be the trend in business today but as an old school guy, I’m not a fan. Not singling out Cherokee here just including them in the clan.
Dec 19, 2024 · Dave MorrisCan't speak to the amenities as we just stopped overnight, but the park is heavily treed and the owner was friendly & helpful. The rate was very reasonable; particularly to veterans. The gravelled parking was ample for our 35' mh & 12' trailer. Some of the overhead wires are pretty low so if you're over 13' height you might want to be careful when pulling in.
Dec 10, 2024 · MartieThe people here are very friendly. It is a nice quiet place to stay and has a big private pond. We only stayed for a night but nice short stay. Wouldn't say it is a place for familys to get out and have fun since it is limited. But for short stop family or long term adult its great.
Jun 11, 2021 · Timothy H.I'd give the owners 5 stars.Sites a little close, easy in and out. We were just there one night while traveling. Quiet
Jan 01, 2025 · Victoria NowlinCozy, quite campground with a nice big pond to enjoy, just needs some WiFi and a swimming pool and this would get 5 stars
