The environment surrounding Clearwater Crossing Campground is clearly a significant draw, with its location implying proximity to the Clearwater River. This riverside setting suggests opportunities for enjoying the water, scenic views, and the natural sounds of a flowing river. The area is described as "nice," indicating an appealing natural landscape that likely includes trees and other riparian vegetation. One reviewer specifically mentions that it's a "Good place to catch pike," further highlighting the environmental feature of the river and its potential for fishing enthusiasts. The presence of the river also suggests the possibility of other water-related activities, although this would need to be confirmed. While recent modifications to the campsite layout have occurred, the fundamental natural appeal of a riverside campground in Montana remains a key aspect of Clearwater Crossing Campground's environment.
Information regarding the services at Clearwater Crossing Campground is somewhat limited and indirectly provided through the customer reviews. One reviewer mentions sleeping well in a tent, implying that tent camping is accommodated. The reference to changes in camping sites due to the addition of "huge rocks and ditches that run alongside the road" suggests that the campground previously had a different layout and that some form of designated or informal campsites exist. The fact that there are "still places to camp but far less than there used to be" indicates the continued availability of camping spots, albeit potentially reduced in number. The mention of pike fishing and the stocking of "some monsters in there early season" implies that the campground likely caters to anglers, although specific fishing-related amenities (like cleaning stations or boat access) are not mentioned. To obtain comprehensive information about the services available, such as restroom facilities, water sources, fire rings, picnic tables, waste disposal, and potential RV accommodations, contacting the campground directly using the provided phone numbers is essential.
The features of Clearwater Crossing Campground include its location near the Clearwater River, which offers opportunities for fishing, particularly pike. The stocking of the river with larger fish early in the season is a specific feature that would appeal to anglers. The campground's setting in a "nice area" suggests a pleasant natural environment for camping. However, a notable feature mentioned by a reviewer is the recent modification of the camping sites with the addition of "huge rocks and ditches that run alongside the road." This appears to be a significant change that has reduced the number of available camping spots and might impact the ease of setting up camp in certain areas. While there are still places to camp, potential visitors should be aware of these modifications. The fact that one reviewer "slept well in our tent" indicates that despite the changes, a comfortable tent camping experience is still possible in some locations within the campground.
Promotional information for Clearwater Crossing Campground, aimed at local users searching for "camping near me," would likely emphasize its riverside location and the opportunity for pike fishing, especially highlighting the early season stocking of larger fish. The "nice area" would be promoted as a relaxing natural setting for a camping getaway. However, it would be prudent and objective to also mention the recent changes to the camping sites involving the addition of rocks and ditches, which have reduced the number of available spots. This transparency would help potential visitors manage their expectations. The campground could be promoted as a good base for fishing on the Clearwater River, with the added benefit of a pleasant riverside camping experience, provided that campers are aware of the altered layout and potential limitations on site availability.

Clearwater Crossing Campground Reviews
Nice area but they messed up the camping sites by adding huge rocks and ditches that run alongside the road. Still places to camp but far less than there used to be. Good place to catch pike and they stock some monsters in there early season.
Jul 16, 2018 · Beth CushmanVery nice. Slept well in our tent.
Aug 13, 2020 · Kathryn WildeThis campground is very rustic but if that's what you like, this is for you! No hook ups, which again is ok, but, there didn't seem to be a lot to do there, kind of out in the open not a lot of sites with shade, not the place with a big camper. Spots all back in and a little difficult to maneuver. No water near it. Most campers were not there as there isn't anything to do right there. It's a good boondocking spot. Didn't see any trails near it.One spot looked like a good trail but then had PRIVATE sign blocking it. Even the camp host site didn't look like they'd been there in a while, could be wrong on that though.
Jul 17, 2021 · KarenClean and confy river water sound is music to my ears puts right to sleep. Fishing kayaking long walks and also available is many free camp sits accros the river. A great get away. A c- store about a mile away.
Sep 29, 2021 · Marilou HelmenThe campground was right next to the river with a swimming hole. There were perfect, flat spots for tents and plenty of space for campers/trailers. Beautiful view!
