Great campground..nice paved spots spaced enough to give privacy. Fairly easy to maneuver in though larger rigs may find some places tight. I was there a week and it was mostly empty except for the weekend when every spot was taken. It seems that lots of people come for the weekends and stay here while going to Bear Lake for the day. It's a mix of reservable and first come sites. Lots of water spouts to get drinking water but only one bathroom which wasn't a problem till the weekend when the campground was full...too many people for a single toilet for the men though the women's side had two. The host, who wasn't on site did a big cleaning after the weekend crew and it was stocked well the rest of the time. Quiet campground and peaceful, at least in my experience. No cell reception in the area. Access to streams and hiking right from the campground. Garbage is located on the road leading up to several of the campgrounds but was over full and in need of emptying. Overall a great place to stay @ $20 a night if you are in the area. - Flying Dutchman

Are you searching for the perfect "camping near me" getaway? Look no further than Cloverleaf Campground, nestled in the scenic beauty of St Charles, Idaho. Located at Forest Rd 462, this campground offers a tranquil escape for local adventurers seeking a refreshing outdoor experience. Whether you're planning a weekend retreat or a longer stay, Cloverleaf Campground provides a blend of natural charm and essential amenities to make your camping trip memorable.

Cloverleaf Campground boasts a delightful environment characterized by lush trees that generously provide shade and enhance the privacy of each campsite. Imagine waking up to the gentle rustling of leaves and the soft sunlight filtering through the canopy. The paved campsites are a notable feature, offering a level surface for your tents or recreational vehicles. While the campground is generally easy to navigate, it's worth noting that larger rigs might find some spots a bit snug, so it's advisable to consider the size of your vehicle when making your selection.

One of the standout features highlighted by previous visitors is the spacing between campsites. This thoughtful layout ensures a degree of privacy that is often sought after in a campground setting, allowing you to relax and immerse yourself in the natural surroundings without feeling crowded. During the week, the campground tends to be less occupied, offering an even more serene atmosphere. However, it's a popular destination on weekends, with many visitors using it as a base while exploring the stunning Bear Lake, which is easily accessible from the campground.

For those looking for flexibility, Cloverleaf Campground offers a mix of reservable and first-come, first-served sites. This caters to both those who like to plan their trips in advance and those who prefer a more spontaneous approach. It's advisable to book ahead, especially if you're planning a weekend stay, as the campground tends to fill up quickly during peak times.

In terms of services, Cloverleaf Campground provides essential facilities to ensure a comfortable stay. There are multiple water spouts conveniently located throughout the campground, making it easy to access drinking water. However, it's important to note that there is only one bathroom facility available. While this may not be an issue during the quieter weekdays, it can become a point of congestion on weekends when the campground is at full capacity. Visitors have specifically mentioned longer queues for the men's toilet during these busy periods, while the women's side has two toilets.

Despite the single bathroom facility, the cleanliness of the campground is generally well-maintained. Although the host is not always on-site, they ensure a thorough cleaning after the weekend rush, and the facilities are typically well-stocked for the remainder of the week. This commitment to cleanliness contributes to the overall positive experience of staying at Cloverleaf Campground.

Nature enthusiasts will find plenty to appreciate at Cloverleaf Campground. Its location provides direct access to streams and hiking trails, allowing you to easily explore the surrounding natural beauty. Imagine taking a leisurely stroll along a babbling stream or embarking on a more challenging hike through the picturesque landscape. The opportunity to connect with nature right from your campsite is a significant draw for many visitors.

While the tranquility of Cloverleaf Campground is a major asset, it's worth noting that cell phone reception in the area is generally poor to nonexistent. This can be a double-edged sword – while it allows for a complete disconnect from the digital world and a greater immersion in nature, it's something to be aware of for those who rely on mobile communication. It's advisable to make any necessary calls or arrangements before arriving at the campground.

Garbage disposal is provided, with collection points located on the road leading up to several of the campgrounds. However, some visitors have noted instances where these bins were overfull and in need of emptying. While this seems to be an occasional issue, it's something to keep in mind and perhaps plan accordingly by carrying extra trash bags if necessary.

One of the most appealing aspects of Cloverleaf Campground is its affordability. At a rate of approximately $20 per night, it offers excellent value for money, especially considering the pleasant environment, paved sites, and access to natural attractions. This makes it an attractive option for budget-conscious travelers and families looking for an affordable "camping near me" experience.

In summary, Cloverleaf Campground presents a wonderful opportunity for local users to enjoy the outdoors. Its key features include:

  • Private and spacious paved campsites.
  • A peaceful and quiet atmosphere, particularly during the week.
  • Convenient access to drinking water spouts throughout the campground.
  • Direct access to streams and hiking trails for nature exploration.
  • Proximity to the popular Bear Lake for day trips and recreational activities.
  • Affordable nightly rate of around $20.

While there are a few considerations, such as the single bathroom facility and limited cell phone reception, the overall consensus from visitors is overwhelmingly positive. The lush surroundings, the privacy afforded by the well-spaced campsites, and the easy access to nature make Cloverleaf Campground a highly recommended destination for your next "camping near me" adventure.

If you're looking for a serene and affordable camping experience in a beautiful natural setting near Bear Lake, Cloverleaf Campground is definitely worth considering. Take advantage of the reservable sites to secure your spot, especially if you're planning a weekend getaway. Embrace the opportunity to disconnect from the hustle and bustle of daily life and reconnect with nature at Cloverleaf Campground – your ideal local camping escape.
