Country Side Campground Introduce
For local travelers and residents in Missouri seeking a straightforward and budget-friendly "camping near me" option, Country Side Campground, located at 6477 State Hwy 32, El Dorado Springs, MO 64744, USA, offers a simple place to stay, particularly for those traveling along Highway 54. Based on recent customer reviews, this campground provides basic amenities at a very affordable price and is conveniently situated near Stockton Lake.
The Simple Environment of Country Side Campground
Customer feedback suggests that Country Side Campground offers a rather "plain" or "simple" environment. This likely means that campers can expect a no-frills setting focused on providing the essentials rather than extensive landscaping or elaborate facilities. The emphasis appears to be on functionality and affordability. While specific details about the natural surroundings aren't extensively described, its location in rural Missouri suggests a generally peaceful and open environment. Being a short drive from Stockton Lake implies proximity to the natural beauty and recreational opportunities associated with the lake, such as fishing, boating, and scenic views. However, within the campground itself, expect a more utilitarian atmosphere rather than a heavily wooded or resort-like setting. This simplicity can be appealing to those who prioritize affordability and access to nearby attractions over elaborate campground aesthetics.
Essential Services at an Unbeatable Price
Despite its simplicity, Country Side Campground offers essential services that make it a practical choice for overnight stays, especially for RV travelers. Based on customer reviews, the campground provides:
- Water, Sewer, and Electric Hookups: A significant advantage, particularly given the low nightly rate, is the availability of hookups for water, sewer, and electricity at the campsites. One reviewer specifically mentioned having these services at their site. However, another review noted limited availability of certain amperage hookups (only one 30 amp and one 50 amp site with water), indicating that it's crucial to confirm the specific hookup availability for your needs when booking.
- Affordable Rates: A standout feature is the incredibly low price of $20.00 per night for a site with water, sewer, and electric hookups. This makes it one of the most budget-friendly options for RVers and other campers in the area.
- Potentially Friendly Management: One reviewer praised the "very nice lady" operating the campground, highlighting her willingness to go "beyond what was expected" to ensure a comfortable stay. This suggests a personal touch and a desire to provide good service. However, another review mentioned a negative interaction regarding the use of a dryer, indicating that there might be specific rules or limitations on electricity usage that campers should be aware of.
While the services are basic, the inclusion of full hookups at such a low price point is a major draw for budget-conscious travelers. However, it's essential to be aware of potential limitations or specific rules regarding the use of these services.
Key Features: Affordability and Location
The primary features of Country Side Campground that make it appealing to local users are:
- Unbeatable Affordability: At just $20.00 per night for a site with full hookups (water, sewer, and electric), it offers exceptional value, especially for those traveling through or looking for a cheap base to explore the area.
- Proximity to Stockton Lake: The campground is located just a short drive from Stockton Lake, making it a convenient option for those planning to enjoy the lake's recreational activities, such as fishing, boating, and swimming.
- Convenient for Highway 54 Travelers: Its location along Highway 54 makes it an easily accessible stopover for those traveling through Missouri.
- Small and Simple Setting: For campers who prefer a less crowded and more laid-back atmosphere, the simplicity of this campground might be appealing.
For local users searching "camping near me" on a tight budget and prioritizing access to Stockton Lake or a convenient stop along Highway 54, Country Side Campground presents a compelling option due to its affordability and basic amenities.
Important Considerations and Potential Drawbacks
While the low price is attractive, it's crucial for potential campers to be aware of some potential drawbacks mentioned in the reviews:
- Limited Amenities: The campground is described as "very plain," suggesting a lack of additional amenities such as laundry facilities (despite the mention of a dryer in one review, its usage seems to be restricted), recreational areas, or a camp store.
- Potential Restrictions on Electricity Usage: The negative comment about using a dryer and the note to plug in without calling indicate that there might be specific rules or limitations regarding electricity consumption. Campers should clarify these rules with the management upon arrival.
- Limited Hookup Availability: The mention of only one 30 amp and one 50 amp site with water suggests that availability of specific hookups might be limited, so it's essential to inquire about this when booking.
- "Only Park Close to Town": This comment is somewhat ambiguous but could imply that the campground's primary appeal is its proximity to El Dorado Springs rather than its inherent natural beauty or extensive on-site features.
Local users considering Country Side Campground should weigh the significant cost savings against the potential lack of extensive amenities and the need to adhere to specific campground rules.
Promotional Information and Booking Details
