Cypress Lake RV Park Introduce
For those in the Calvert City, Kentucky area and searching within the "camping near me" category, Cypress Lake RV Park, located at 30 Cypress Pines Ln, Calvert City, KY 42029, USA, presents itself as a potential option. To provide a detailed and objective introduction for local users, it's essential to consider the recent feedback from individuals who have experienced this campground firsthand. The reviews offer a glimpse into the environment, services, and features, painting a picture that potential visitors should be aware of.
Cypress Lake RV Park, as its name suggests, is situated near a lake, which has been highlighted as one of its appealing features. One reviewer specifically mentioned enjoying the lake, suggesting it provides opportunities for recreation or scenic enjoyment. Additionally, the presence of a pool is noted as an amenity that contributed positively to a guest's extended stay. These features, the lake and the pool, traditionally make RV parks attractive, especially during warmer months, for those seeking a relaxing outdoor experience within the "camping near me" vicinity.
The reviews also shed light on the management and staff. One long-term visitor mentioned positive interactions with Tracy and Jimmy in the office, describing them as efficient, and Bobby, who helps with cleanliness. This positive feedback indicates that some aspects of the service and maintenance at Cypress Lake RV Park have been commendable and appreciated by guests. The friendly and efficient management can significantly enhance the overall camping experience, fostering a welcoming and organized environment for visitors.
However, it's crucial to address some significant concerns raised by a long-time "regular" at the campground. This reviewer notes a perceived decline in several areas since a "corporation" took over the management. This perspective is valuable for local users who may have been familiar with the campground under previous ownership. The changes mentioned include price increases, which is a practical consideration for budget-conscious travelers and those seeking affordable "camping near me" options.
Furthermore, this long-term visitor points out a discrepancy regarding internet access. They state that promised internet ended up being exclusive to pull-thru visitors, which could be a significant drawback for those staying in other types of sites or planning an extended stay where reliable internet is essential. For modern travelers, especially those working remotely or wanting to stay connected, limited internet access can be a major inconvenience.
Another concerning issue raised is the condition of the lake. The reviewer mentions that the pump system intended to keep the lake clear has reportedly not been operational for an extended period. The clarity and overall health of a lake can significantly impact the enjoyment of a lakeside campground, potentially affecting activities like swimming or fishing, and the general aesthetic appeal of the environment.
The availability of essential camping supplies, such as firewood, also seems to have been negatively affected. The reviewer noted that there has been "little to no firewood to buy for campfires." Campfires are often a central part of the camping experience for many, providing warmth, a place for cooking, and a social gathering point. The lack of available firewood could detract from the overall ambiance and practicality of staying at Cypress Lake RV Park.
The sense of community and the activities offered at the campground also appear to have undergone changes. The traditional campground potlucks with bands have reportedly been replaced by food trucks visiting for a few hours. While food trucks can offer a convenient dining option, they may not foster the same sense of community and extended social interaction that organized potlucks and live music events can create. This shift could alter the social dynamic of the campground, potentially impacting the experience for those who value a strong sense of community.
The long-term visitor expresses a sense of loss, stating that "all the heart is gone from this place" and that long-time visitors are considering leaving. This sentiment suggests a significant change in the overall atmosphere and management philosophy of the campground, potentially impacting the experience for both new and returning guests. The reviewer's decision to consider alternative accommodations in the area speaks volumes about the perceived decline in the quality and value offered by Cypress Lake RV Park.
While one reviewer had a positive experience with the staff and amenities during their extended stay, the concerns raised by the long-term regular provide a crucial counterpoint. It's possible that the experience at Cypress Lake RV Park can vary depending on the length of stay, the type of site, and individual priorities. However, the issues regarding internet access limitations, lake maintenance, firewood availability, and changes in community events are significant factors that potential local users searching for "camping near me" should consider.
Given the contrasting reviews, it would be prudent for local users interested in Cypress Lake RV Park to inquire directly about the current status of amenities like internet access for all sites, the condition of the lake, the availability of firewood, and the types of social activities currently offered. It might also be beneficial to ask about any recent changes in management policies or fees to get the most up-to-date information.
As there is no specific promotional information provided in the reviews, local users should check the campground's website or contact them directly at (270) 395-4267 or +1 270-395-4267 for any current specials, discounts, or long-term stay rates. Understanding the current pricing structure and any available promotions will be important in making an informed decision, especially in light of the reported price increases.
In conclusion, Cypress Lake RV Park near Calvert City, KY, offers a lakeside setting and some appreciated amenities like a pool and, according to one review, friendly staff. However, potential local users searching for "camping near me" should be aware of recent concerns raised by a long-term visitor regarding price increases, limited internet access, lake maintenance issues, firewood availability, and changes in the campground's atmosphere and community events. It is recommended to seek current information directly from the campground to determine if it meets your specific needs and expectations for a local camping experience.

Cypress Lake RV Park Reviews
I’ve been somewhat of a regular at this campground for several years. Ive noticed that since a “corporation” took over the place has went downhill in several areas. Not only have prices increased, promised internet ended up being only for pull thru visitors. The pump system that helps to keep the lake clear has not run in forever and there has been little to no firewood to buy for campfires. Campground potlucks with bands have turned in to food trucks visiting for a few hours. Some say all this costcutting is due to an incentative program in placeIt’s sad, but it seems like all the heart is gone from this place and people who have been there for decades are leaving. I hate it too, as we’ve made friends there, but when visiting this area of the country we may start staying somewhere else
Apr 01, 2025 · Vicky (Vic)A wonderful campground with a lot of great people. Tracy and Jimmy run the office very efficiently while Bobby helps keep the place clean. We definitely enjoyed our extended stay here and will definitely be back if we are in the area. Loved all the amenities including the pool and the lake. Thanks for the new memories and friendships.
Jun 07, 2024 · Michelle ClarkNice swimming pool, friendly people stayed labor day weekend, our kids had fun. Only complaints are your right on top of each other. And just a couple arcade games worked the rest took my money really need to upgrade or get them serviced properly. And it should be called Turtle Lake instead there were so many turtles.
Sep 03, 2024 · Denny GoodnightTracy (the manager) was not following protocol she was incredibly disrespectful, and with that mindset as a business, you will not that company long!! I have 50,000 followers across social media, I travel. I am trusted and adored through social media. I will get the word out. I posted it on my social medias how disgusting this campground is … it’s one thing to check In each person upon arrival.. which she did not do upon my arrival, nor does she do for anyone’s arrival. She asks how many guests and in the camper, and she put it in the book. She called the police, When I was peaceful and the police confirmed I am who I said I was… after this she still then proceeded to throw me out !! Explain that?! Why would she still precede to throw me out. Another maintenance worker explained that she was having a bad day.. NO EXCUSE!!!!!!!!!! How can you have such an emotional person working for you. This business is getting stomped in the dirt!! I hope you were prepared for that. The worst campground I’ve ever seen, outdated, bad connection, horrible staff. You should be ashamed! Smells awful, there’s dead animals, dogs without leashes…🤢🤢🤢
Jun 10, 2024 · RowlandI have been a traveling camper for some time now, and I’ve been to more than 25 campgrounds. This is by far the worst campground that I have ever had the misfortune of staying at, I usually don’t leave reviews but I was incredibly disappointed with how I was treated. There is an arcade, a pool and a playground, all of which are accommodations for the guests who pay money to stay there. I spent quite some time near the front office, in the circular seating area, just as I was relaxing as I usually do, a lady by the name of Tracy (the manager) walked up to me demanding my name and who I was, I told her this is inappropriate, that I was on a phone call, I am a guest who pays money to be here, she stood there for a while threatening to call the police on me. I told her it’s not necessary as I am a guest here. She then called the police and told them that she has never seen me, and that she needs to know who I am. When the police proved I was there legally and that I in fact did pay to be there, she threatened to throw me out!! I had committed no crime!! I was peaceful I was calm and there was video surveillance to prove it!! The police told her there is nothing they can do… she was incredibly embarrassed! SHE BEHAVED AS A CHILD! she was having a bad day from a previous complaint from another camper! Completely disrespectful!! Unprofessional!! Disgusting behavior! She should lose her job! She costed that company money, you she lost a valued guest! And I won’t be returning to this campground! I will make sure the word gets out about this park! This park is an internet dead zone! The staff is disrespectful! Dogs are without leashes! Don’t waste a second of your time there. THIS IS SHAMEFUL! if this comment gets deleted I am reposting it..
