DJ Kojo Campground Introduce
For local residents and travelers searching for "camping near me" in the Lyndon Station, Wisconsin area, DJ Kojo Campground, situated at N3195 28th Ave S, Lyndon Station, WI 53944, USA, presents a location with proximity to the Wisconsin River. Contactable by phone at (608) 547-4333 or mobile at +1 608-547-4333, this campground offers seasonal sites and boasts a spacious layout, seemingly tucked away from traffic and crowds. However, it's crucial for potential visitors to be aware of significantly contrasting feedback from past guests, with one review highly recommending the location and another expressing serious concerns regarding safety and management.
The environment of DJ Kojo Campground appears to offer a blend of natural seclusion and convenient access to the Wisconsin River. One positive review describes the location as "hidden away from traffic and crowds," suggesting a quieter and more private setting. Its proximity, "3 min away from Wisconsin River boat launch," is a significant advantage for those interested in boating, fishing, or other water-based activities on the river. The availability of "spacious" sites further implies that campers may have ample room to set up and enjoy their surroundings. However, a starkly contrasting review paints a negative picture, alleging that the campground "does not properly spray pest repellent to make it comfortable." This suggests potential issues with insects or other pests that could detract from the enjoyment of the outdoor environment. The same negative review also claims that the management "does not like guests in park, don't expect to have fun with family," which, if accurate, would severely impact the overall atmosphere and experience for visitors. The presence of seasonal sites indicates a longer-term community within the campground, which can sometimes contribute to a welcoming environment, but in light of the negative feedback, this aspect's impact is unclear.
Information regarding the specific services and amenities at DJ Kojo Campground is limited and contradictory based on the provided reviews. The positive review mentions the availability of "seasonal sites," implying that long-term campers have access to certain utilities, although these are not specified. The proximity to the Wisconsin River boat launch can be considered an amenity for those planning to use it. However, the negative review raises serious concerns about the management's approach to guest comfort and safety, specifically mentioning the lack of proper pest control. Most alarmingly, this review states that "broken glass and needle were found in sandbox play area," which, if true, indicates a severe lapse in safety and maintenance, particularly concerning for families with children. This directly contradicts any expectation of a welcoming and safe environment. The stark contrast between the two reviews makes it difficult to objectively assess the services and amenities without further information or more consistent feedback from other visitors. Potential guests should be extremely cautious and consider the serious allegations raised in the negative review.
The features of DJ Kojo Campground are also subject to conflicting descriptions. The positive review highlights its spaciousness and secluded location away from traffic, as well as its convenient proximity to the Wisconsin River boat launch. These could be attractive features for those seeking a quieter camping experience with easy river access. The availability of seasonal sites suggests a degree of stability for long-term campers. However, the negative review points to significant negative features, most notably the alleged lack of pest control and, more seriously, the presence of hazardous materials like broken glass and a needle in a children's play area. If these claims are accurate, they would far outweigh any positive features and raise serious safety concerns, especially for families. The claim that the management dislikes guests and discourages family fun further suggests a potentially unwelcoming atmosphere. The extreme divergence in these two reviews underscores the need for potential visitors to exercise caution and seek additional information before making a decision to stay at DJ Kojo Campground.
For local users searching for "camping near me" in the Lyndon Station area, DJ Kojo Campground presents a location with a notable advantage: its proximity to the Wisconsin River boat launch, which would be highly appealing to boaters and anglers. The claim of spacious sites and a setting away from traffic noise could also be attractive to those seeking a quieter camping experience. However, the serious allegations in the negative review regarding inadequate pest control and, most concerningly, the discovery of broken glass and a needle in a play area, cannot be ignored. These safety concerns, coupled with the claim of an unwelcoming management, should give any potential visitors, especially families, significant pause. The stark contrast between the two reviews suggests a potentially inconsistent experience or a significant issue that needs to be addressed by the campground management. Local users are strongly advised to proceed with extreme caution and seek further, more recent reviews or information before considering a stay at DJ Kojo Campground.
In terms of promotional information, DJ Kojo Campground could emphasize its spacious sites and its location just three minutes from the Wisconsin River boat launch, as mentioned in the positive review. The potential for a quieter setting away from traffic might also be a selling point for some. However, in light of the serious negative feedback, any promotional efforts would need to address and rectify the issues raised, particularly those concerning safety. Transparency and a commitment to resolving the alleged problems would be crucial for rebuilding trust and attracting guests, especially families. Any future promotions should highlight improvements made to pest control measures and safety protocols, especially in children's play areas. Until such issues are verifiably addressed, any promotional claims should be viewed with skepticism. Potential visitors should prioritize safety and well-being when considering this campground.
Given the severity of the allegations in the negative review, local users might want to contact the campground directly to inquire about their current safety measures, pest control practices, and management policies. Seeking more recent reviews from multiple sources could also provide a more balanced and up-to-date perspective on the current state of DJ Kojo Campground. The significant discrepancy between the two available reviews serves as a strong caution, and potential visitors should carefully weigh the potential benefits of the location against the serious safety and management concerns raised.
In conclusion, DJ Kojo Campground in Lyndon Station, WI, offers a location near the Wisconsin River boat launch and reportedly spacious sites in a setting away from traffic. However, it has received severely contrasting reviews, with one praising it as a very nice place and another citing serious concerns about inadequate pest control, an unwelcoming management, and, most alarmingly, the presence of broken glass and a needle in a children's play area. For local users searching for "camping near me," the proximity to the river might be appealing, but the significant safety and management concerns raised in one of the reviews should not be overlooked and warrant extreme caution and further investigation before considering a stay at DJ Kojo Campground, especially for families.

DJ Kojo Campground Reviews
Amazing and specious, hidden away from traffic and crowds. Located 3 min away from Wisconsin River boat launch. They gave seasonal sites. Very very nice place.
Oct 16, 2021 · Natha BAwful awful place. Does not properly spray pest repellent to make it comfortable. Does not like guests in park, don't expect to have fun with family. Broken glass and needle were found in sandbox play area. Would not recommend for families.
Jun 20, 2024 · James JohnsonI have 2 police reports against Jeanne kojo's dog/dog (the other passed away this winter). 3 unprovoked attacks. 2 on me, 1 causing puncture wounds and a hospital visit/ police report. Other one didn't draw blood and I chose not to contact police. The 3rd time, their dog D attacked my dog unprovoked. As my dog coward in fear, D bit a hole that required a vet visit plus police report. Ask any of the other seasoned campers, everyone is scared of their current dog and dog that passed away. They do not keep him on a leash. Another camper 2 years ago had their dog viciously attacked by Jeanne kojo's dog which caused stitches. I have proof to everything I just wrote. You and your dogs are at risk for bodily harm if you come here. Beyond unacceptable. Dave kojo is a great guy however. This is strictly a Jeanne kojo problem. She's beat Dave down to a voiceless scared man afraid to stick up for himself against her. Go elsewhere.
Aug 10, 2023 · marc fuWas kicked off the property after we paid a full months rent and followed all campground rules then they neglect to spray for Masqitos and charge whatever they can to get more money out of us like other people's trash and there dog D wasn't ever on the leash and was a little rough with one of my little dogs maybe thinking he was a squrl and I couldn't have my friends over but every one eles on there camp ground could. So I do not Recommend #Marc Fu you are so correct cuz Dave is one hell of a great guy
Jul 23, 2024 · William RobertsonAwesome campground that primarily accommodates seasonal campers but also great place for a weekend RV'er to pull in and relax. 20 minutes from the Dells and just minutes away from the Wisconsin River.
