Yukon Trails Campground Introduce
For local residents seeking "camping near me" in the Lyndon Station, Wisconsin area, Yukon Trails Campground, located at N2330 County Rd HH, Lyndon Station, WI 53944, USA, presents a somewhat mixed but potentially interesting option. Reachable by phone at (608) 666-3261 or mobile at +1 608-666-3261, this campground offers a unique accommodation experience alongside more traditional seasonal camping. Its proximity to the Wisconsin Dells makes it a convenient base for exploring the popular tourist attractions in the region. However, it's important for potential visitors to consider the varying experiences reported by past guests.
The environment of Yukon Trails Campground seems to offer a blend of natural features and campground infrastructure. One positive review mentions "trails to explore," suggesting that the campground provides opportunities for walking and enjoying the outdoors. The location near the highway facilitates easy access to the Wisconsin Dells and surrounding areas. However, another review paints a less favorable picture of the overall upkeep, describing the campground as "truly run down." This discrepancy suggests that while there may be appealing natural elements or convenient aspects to the location, the maintenance and condition of the facilities could be a concern for some visitors. The presence of seasonal sites indicates a long-term community within the campground, which can sometimes contribute to a friendly atmosphere but, according to one review, these sites may be "outdated."
The services and amenities at Yukon Trails Campground appear to be somewhat varied in quality. One positive aspect highlighted is the presence of "a small store with anything you would need," which can be a significant convenience for campers who may have forgotten essential items or wish to purchase snacks and supplies on-site. The availability of seasonal sites suggests that long-term campers have access to certain utilities, although one review notes issues with these, including "electric," "water pressure," and "underground holding tanks" that reportedly fill up during rainfalls. This indicates potential reliability issues with some of the basic services offered to seasonal campers. Conversely, a visitor who stayed in one of the unique shipping container accommodations mentioned feeling "very welcome," suggesting a positive interaction with the campground staff, at least in some areas of the operation. This guest also noted the presence of a couch that pulled out into a bed and a separate bedroom in their container, indicating a level of comfort and space within these unique units.
A particularly distinctive feature of Yukon Trails Campground is the availability of accommodations inside converted shipping containers. This unique option, which fulfilled a visitor's long-standing wish, suggests that the campground is attempting to offer more than just traditional campsites. The specific container unit, "Wren," was described as "much more spacious than I thought it would be," featuring a pull-out couch and a separate bedroom. This unique lodging could be a significant draw for those seeking a novel and memorable camping experience. Additionally, the mention of "events on the weekends" (though missed by the reviewer due to the season ending) suggests that the campground may offer social activities during peak times, potentially enhancing the community feel and providing entertainment for guests. However, the negative review regarding the pool being "green often during the summer" raises concerns about the maintenance and usability of recreational facilities.
For local users searching for "camping near me," Yukon Trails Campground offers a location that is convenient to the Wisconsin Dells, a major regional attraction. This proximity could be a significant advantage for families or individuals planning to visit the Dells' waterparks and other entertainment venues. The unique option of staying in a converted shipping container provides an interesting alternative to traditional tent or RV camping and could appeal to those looking for a different kind of getaway. The presence of a small store on-site adds a practical benefit for campers. However, potential visitors should also be aware of the negative feedback regarding the general upkeep of the campground, particularly the seasonal sites and the pool. The discrepancy in reviews suggests that the experience at Yukon Trails Campground may vary depending on the type of accommodation and the specific conditions at the time of visit.
In terms of promotional information, Yukon Trails Campground could emphasize its unique shipping container accommodations as a key differentiator. Marketing these as a novel and comfortable way to camp near the Wisconsin Dells could attract a specific segment of tourists and locals looking for a unique experience. Highlighting the convenience of the on-site store and the proximity to the Dells would also be beneficial. If the campground resolves the maintenance issues mentioned in the negative review, promoting improvements to the pool and the seasonal sites would be crucial for attracting and retaining customers. The potential for weekend events during the camping season could also be advertised to showcase a more social and engaging atmosphere. To provide a balanced view, the campground should perhaps be transparent about the nature of the seasonal sites and the walk to any unique accommodations, ensuring that potential guests have realistic expectations.
Given the conflicting reviews, local users considering Yukon Trails Campground should perhaps seek more recent feedback or potentially visit the property to assess the current conditions for themselves, if possible. The unique appeal of the shipping container stays might outweigh some of the concerns about the general upkeep for certain visitors. However, those seeking traditional seasonal camping with reliable amenities may need to inquire specifically about the current state of the electric, water, and holding tank systems.
In conclusion, Yukon Trails Campground offers a unique camping experience near the Wisconsin Dells, primarily through its converted shipping container accommodations and the convenience of an on-site store. While its location is advantageous for accessing regional attractions, and there are mentions of trails and potential weekend events, some visitors have reported concerns about the general maintenance and condition of the campground, particularly the seasonal sites and the pool. Local users searching for "camping near me" should weigh the unique aspects of this campground against the reported drawbacks to determine if it meets their needs and expectations for a camping getaway.

Yukon Trails Campground Reviews
The people that run this place don't give a shit about it. It is truly run down. The pool is green often during the summer. Seasonal sites are outdated with electric, water pressure sucks and underground holding tanks fill up during rainfalls
Apr 29, 2025 · Jeff RaabMy mom has always wanted to stay inside a shipping container, so for her birthday, we ventured to Yukon Trails. This was a wonderful place to stay. We felt very welcome here, there are events on the weekends that we just missed out on during our stay because of the season ending - but I wish we could have participated in!, a small store with anything you would need, and trails to explore. We stayed in Wren. The couch pulled out and was perfect for me while my mom took the bedroom. It felt much more spacious than I thought it would! This was a great place for us to stay - nearby the highway to get to the Dells, and I would love to return with my partner during the camping season next year!
Nov 04, 2024 · Greta DeCaluweAgain, it's not a hotel. An RV park, w some cabins.I really liked this park, although the roads were a little tight getting around in our 37 ft RV w attached 12 ft trailer. There was a mix-up on our site. We were supposed to be in a pull thru. However, when we arrived at 5 pm ( office closes at 4) They had changed our assignment to a much smaller space. We couldn't even shoe horn our way in! Fortunately, we ran into some very helpful ppl who got ahold of the manager, and we got it fixed eventually.I think all the sites are water and power only. No sewer, but they do have a dump station. There were several different sections to the park, so in spite of narrow roads, it's quite large. They have a nice pool and a water park area for kids, also a playground and a volleyball area.Lots of beautiful tall pines, everywhere. The parking surface was dirt, a very sandy dirt, but well packed. We had no trouble leveling w our jacks. They sell firewood in the office/store, and they have a large display of attractions in the area and in Wisconsin Dells ,which is only abt 10 minutes away. I would definitely stay here again, it was very beautiful and peaceful.
Feb 18, 2025 · MotomamaWe stayed for Halloween 🎃 weekend. October 2024. We always have a great time. We book the same spot every year. This was our 12th year. This year, we noticed so many open permanent sites were abandoned and empty.Ralph and Anita, along with their employees are absolutely wonderful and accommodating. They'll do anything for you.The only downside are the restrooms 🚻. We would stay longer but the restrooms are dilapidated. The showers are small and dark, not handicap accessible and wish corporate would spend some money and build new restrooms. The men's toilet was having sewer issues. Out of all the campgrounds in the area, these restrooms are the worst. The campground is the best around otherwise. Many weekend activities and movie nights. The playground is nice, pools clean and refreshing. We love Yukon Trails and would spend more time here in the summer. Come on corporate make Yukon Trails number 1 with new restrooms. Ralph & Anita and staff work endlessly and deserve it!
Oct 07, 2024 · Cindy KingWe stayed here last weekend... couldn't really enjoy the campground after the rain. Majority of campsites for tents were flooded with standing water. Ours was the only one not flooded. Mosquitos were there for sure. Reception desk lady was nice. Can buy merch at Milepost... just check the hours of operation. Bathrooms/showers were okay. Quiet time was 10pm to 8am i believe. Kids loved the little park with sandbox and slides.
