Encore Crystal Isles Introduce
Looking for exceptional "camping near me" with a unique waterfront experience? Consider Encore Crystal Isles, located at 11419 W Fort Island Trail, Crystal River, FL 34429, USA. This campground offers a picturesque setting and a welcoming atmosphere for those seeking a memorable stay in the Crystal River area. You can reach them at (352) 795-3774 or their mobile number, +1 352-795-3774, for inquiries and reservations.
Based on recent customer feedback, Encore Crystal Isles is described as a "very nice place to stay" with a "friendly and helpful" staff. One of the key highlights mentioned by visitors is the availability of sites directly on the waterway, offering scenic views and potentially direct access for water-related activities. The resort itself is considered "beautiful," and the surrounding area is also noted for its charm and appeal.
A significant draw to the Crystal River area is the opportunity to see manatees. While one recent visitor mentioned being "about a week late" for the peak viewing season in March, they still found the nearby state park "beautiful" and the springs "awesome." This suggests that even outside of peak manatee season, the natural environment surrounding Encore Crystal Isles offers plenty to explore and appreciate.
Encore Crystal Isles also features a "small beach area closeby," providing another option for relaxation and enjoying the Florida sunshine. The campground is described as a "great and neat place to visit in Florida," further solidifying its appeal as a desirable camping destination.
It's important to note that one recent reviewer mentioned ongoing "renovation going on from the latest storm that flooded the area previously." However, they also reassured potential guests that this work "will not affect your stay and enjoyment." This indicates that while improvements are underway, the core experience of staying at Encore Crystal Isles remains positive.
However, the reviews also highlight a potential environmental factor that visitors should be aware of: gnats. One guest described them as "everywhere and a total pain" during their stay in March. They reported that the gnats "quickly got into our rv," necessitating the purchase of an indoor fly trap. Furthermore, sitting outside was described as "totally uncomfortable," with the reviewer estimating they received "over 100 bites even using bug spray." This suggests that during certain times of the year, particularly in March based on this review, gnats can be a significant nuisance at Encore Crystal Isles. The reviewer recommended visiting in January instead of March to potentially avoid this issue.
Despite the gnat problem encountered by one guest, they still concluded that "overall we did enjoy our stay." This indicates that the positive aspects of Encore Crystal Isles, such as the beautiful location, waterfront sites, and friendly staff, outweighed this negative experience for them. They also mentioned that "if we return we would go in January instead of March," suggesting that the timing of the visit can impact the overall enjoyment due to seasonal insect activity.
In conclusion, Encore Crystal Isles offers a compelling option for those seeking "camping near me" with a focus on waterfront access and proximity to natural attractions like manatee viewing areas and Florida springs. The campground is praised for its beauty, friendly staff, and the unique experience of staying on a waterway. While ongoing renovations are in progress, they are not expected to detract from the guest experience. However, potential visitors should be aware of the possibility of significant gnat activity, particularly during the month of March, as highlighted by one recent review. Planning your visit during a different time of year, such as January as suggested, might mitigate this issue. If you are looking for a scenic and potentially wildlife-rich camping experience in the Crystal River area, Encore Crystal Isles is definitely worth considering.

Encore Crystal Isles Reviews
Very nice place to stay and the staff I'd friendly and helpful. I stayed on a site that was right on the waterway. There is some expected renovation going on from the latest storm that flooded the area previously, however it will not affect you stay and enjoyment. There is a small beach area closeby and it's a great and neat place to visit in Florida. Definitely recommend
Apr 12, 2025 · charlie delaneyWe recently stayed there for a week and enjoyed our stay. Our site was nice and the resort is beautiful and the area very nice. We wanted to see manatees but unfortunately we were about a week late but the state park was still beautiful and seeing the springs were awesome. The only real negative were the gnats. They were everywhere and a total pain. They quickly got into our rv so we had to buy an indoor fly trap which worked but sitting outside was totally uncomfortable. I probably received over 100 bites even using bug spray.Overall we did enjoy our stay and if we return we would go in January instead of March.
Apr 01, 2025 · Mike RoweSweet small rv park with plenty of space for large RV’s (40+) and very well kept. Friendly staff and they are still covering/renovating from the late 2024 hurricanes. I would definitely recommend this park. An amazing view of the stars at night.
