Looking for "camping near me" in a scenic lakeside setting in Vermont? Goose Point Campground LLC, located at 5066 US-2, Alburgh, VT 05440, offers a camping experience on the shores of a lake. You can reach them at (802) 796-3711 or +1 802-796-3711 for reservations and inquiries.
According to one positive review, Goose Point Campground stands out for its "extremely clean restrooms!" This is a significant factor for many campers, highlighting the campground's commitment to hygiene and comfort. The reviewer also praised the "amazing" pool, which provided a welcome respite after a long and hot drive. For those traveling with boats, the availability of docks is a notable feature, offering direct access to the lake for boating and other water activities. The owners are described as "very friendly," contributing to a positive and welcoming atmosphere. This reviewer "definitely recommend" Goose Point Campground.
However, another review presents a contrasting perspective based on a one-night stay during an RV trip. This camper found Goose Point Campground to be their "least favorite place of the 6 RV campgrounds where we stayed." A primary concern was the close proximity of the campsites, describing the situation as "everyone is right on top of each other." This lack of space was highlighted by an incident where the reviewer had to move their car to allow their neighbor to pull into their spot, indicating very tight quarters.
The second reviewer also raised concerns about the level of supervision within the campground, stating, "There is no one really watching the campground either." They described an instance of a group of young men sitting in the road right outside their campsite without any intervention from campground staff. Additionally, they noted the absence of active enforcement regarding pet leashing and mentioned that the dump station was located uphill and "kinda far away," potentially posing an inconvenience.
Considering these two reviews, Goose Point Campground LLC offers some attractive amenities, particularly the clean restrooms, the pool, and the boat docks, which are significant advantages for lake enthusiasts and those seeking comfort and convenience. The friendly owners also contribute positively to the overall experience for some visitors.
However, potential campers should be aware of the reported lack of spaciousness between campsites, which could lead to a crowded feeling and limited privacy. The concerns raised about the lack of campground supervision and the distance/location of the dump station are also factors to consider.
For local users searching for "camping near me" in the Alburgh, VT area, Goose Point Campground provides direct access to a lake, making it appealing for those interested in boating and water-based activities. The presence of a pool offers another recreational option, especially for families or those wanting a break from lake swimming. The consistently praised clean restrooms are a significant plus.
However, if you prioritize spacious campsites and a sense of privacy, the feedback suggests that Goose Point Campground might not meet those expectations. Similarly, if campground supervision and the convenience of amenities like the dump station are important to you, these are areas where the campground has received negative feedback.
To make an informed decision, local users might want to consider the type of camping they plan to do (tent vs. RV), the importance of space and privacy, their need for lake access and boating facilities, and their expectations regarding campground management and amenities. Contacting Goose Point Campground directly to inquire about campsite sizes, layout, and any specific policies regarding supervision and pet leashing might be beneficial.
In summary, Goose Point Campground LLC in Alburgh, VT, offers a lakeside camping experience with notable amenities such as clean restrooms, a pool, and boat docks, along with friendly owners. These features make it a potentially attractive option for those prioritizing these aspects. However, the reported close proximity of campsites and concerns about campground supervision and the convenience of certain facilities are important considerations that prospective campers should weigh based on their individual preferences and needs for their "camping near me" experience.

Goose Point Campground LLC Reviews
Traveling up through Canada and stopped here to camp on our way back home. Extremely clean restrooms! And the pool was amazing after a long hot drive. Docks if you have a boat, are available. Very friendly owners. Definitely recommend.
Jul 17, 2024 · Christine SWe stopped here for 1 night on an RV trip to Maine. This was our least favorite place of the 6 RV campgrounds where we stayed. Everyone is right on top of each other. When our neighbor pulled in we were so close together we had to move our car so he could pull into his spot. There is no one really watching the campground either. There were a bunch of young men sitting in the road right outside our campsite, no one ever said anything. There's no one watching that good are leashed and the dump is up hill and kinda far away.
Jul 20, 2024 · Alla PeckhamWe went camping here and got put in one of the worst camp sites I have ever been in, it was right on the highway (route 5) and across the way was the rest of the camp which were blaring the news and being rowdy until late. The campgrounds is full of seasonal and long term RV spots, not a bad thing but notable. If I wanted to camp on the side of a main road with cars driving by all night I’d do it in Burlington and not pay $60 to do it in Alburg
Jul 15, 2024 · Brendan Hamill-O'NeilI basically grew up at this campground 55 years ago. We we started there we 6 campers. Sad to see it so over populated. Teach there own but I am not at a campground with about 25 campers and plenty of space to move around.
Jul 20, 2024 · Connie CoburnThis campground has approx 220 sites where 95% are permanently occupied with seasonal residents. Site was on a sloped ridge parallel to one of the vehicle paths. Zero privacy. Neighbors on three sides separated by about 10 feet.Be prepared for:- A continuous parade of golf carts passing by on the nearby path with drivers and passengers yelling greetings to everyone they know.- People walking though your site going to visit others- People parking on your site in front of your trailer with pickup trucks and/or golf carts. I had both at the same time.- Loud parties, possibly on two sides simultaneously, until after midnight complete with smoky campfires and conversations unsuitable for children.- Barking dogsOther than that, it was lovely.Expensive for what you get.
