Harris Hill Campground Introduce
For local users searching for "camping near me," Harris Hill Campground, located at 940 KY-213, Jeffersonville, KY 40337, USA, presents itself as a potentially quiet and affordable option for a getaway. To help you decide if this campground suits your needs, let's delve into what can be gleaned from the available information, primarily based on customer reviews.
One reviewer described Harris Hill Campground as a "quiet and affordable getaway," which could be a significant draw for those seeking a peaceful and budget-friendly camping experience close to home. The tranquility mentioned suggests a setting where you might be able to relax and enjoy the natural surroundings without excessive noise. The affordability aspect is also noteworthy, as it makes camping accessible to a wider range of individuals and families.
However, another review brings to light some important considerations regarding the campground's features and accessibility. This reviewer pointed out that "the hill to enter the campsite must be a 35-degree incline," strongly suggesting the need for a four-wheel-drive vehicle to navigate it safely. This is crucial information for potential visitors, as it could impact the type of vehicle suitable for accessing the campground. If you are planning to visit, it would be wise to consider the capabilities of your vehicle.
The same reviewer also commented on the facilities, mentioning that while there isn't a bathhouse in the traditional sense, there is "1 shower with a 5-gallon water heater." This implies that shower facilities are limited and might have a restricted supply of hot water. Additionally, they noted "no heat in the shower room" and the presence of "cobwebs line the top of the cement," which suggests that the shower area might be basic and potentially not thoroughly maintained according to some standards.
Furthermore, this review included the observation that "most of the campers live there," implying a significant number of long-term residents rather than solely transient campers. This could influence the overall atmosphere of the campground, potentially feeling more like a residential community than a purely recreational camping area. Depending on your preferences, this could be a positive or negative aspect.
The reviewer also made a remark about the visual appeal, stating, "The pictures must have been taken after a spring clean up." This could suggest that the general upkeep might vary, and what you see in promotional materials might not always reflect the day-to-day condition of the campground.
Considering these points, Harris Hill Campground appears to offer a quiet and affordable option for those looking to camp near Jeffersonville, KY. However, potential visitors should be aware of the steep entry hill, the limited shower facilities with a small water heater and no heating, and the possibility of a more residential atmosphere due to the number of long-term campers. The absence of a traditional bathhouse is also a key factor to consider for your comfort and convenience.
To get a clearer picture of the current environment, services, and features, and to inquire about the accuracy of the observations in the reviews, it would be beneficial to contact Harris Hill Campground directly at (859) 274-6807 or their mobile number, +1 859-274-6807. You could ask about the condition of the entry road, the shower facilities, the ratio of short-term to long-term campers, and any other concerns you might have.
Based on the available information, Harris Hill Campground's environment is described as quiet. Services appear to be basic, with at least one shower available (though with limitations) and no mention of other typical campground amenities like a bathhouse, laundry facilities, or recreational areas. Features include campsites (the nature of which isn't specified – tent, RV, or both), and the affordability seems to be a key aspect. There is no promotional information provided other than the implicit appeal of a "quiet and affordable getaway."
For local users seeking "camping near me," Harris Hill Campground might be suitable if you prioritize a quiet and budget-friendly experience and are prepared for more rustic conditions. If you have a four-wheel-drive vehicle, the steep entry might not be an issue. However, if you prefer more comprehensive amenities like a full bathhouse with ample hot water and a generally more recreational-focused atmosphere, you might want to inquire further or consider other options.
In summary, Harris Hill Campground in Jeffersonville, KY, is presented as a quiet and affordable option for local camping. However, potential visitors should be aware of the steep entry hill (possibly requiring 4WD), the limited shower facilities, and the presence of long-term residents. For more details, it is recommended to contact the campground directly.

Quiet and affordable getaway no bathhouse but nice place
May 29, 2024 · Athena BonfaThe hill to enter the campsite must be a 35 degree incline. Hope you have 4 wheel drive. The pictures must have been taken after a spring clean up. Most of the campers live there. They have 1'shower with a 5 gallon water heater. No heat in the shower room but cob webs line the top of the cement.
Mar 07, 2022 · Cathi FezWe ended up staying longer than expected while we waited to close on a home. Larry and family were wonderful to meet and get to know. Jeff and Jerald who work for Larry and run the show, on The Hill, are awesome. There were several long term residents, but everyone was super nice and we made a lot of new friends during our stay. My only complaint was no laundry facility (otherwise it’d be 5 stars), but I think one is going to be added soon. Our kids fished, played pool, rode bikes, and stayed busy. The hill driveway was a great place to exercise, and having access to the whole property kept us occupied most days. Overall, incredibly accommodating hosts and nice facilities. It was an eclectic mix of folks while we were there, but all were super helpful and friendly and we are truly glad we had the opportunity to spend so much time with them. We’ll be staying in touch and going back to visit often. Much more laid back here than other campgrounds we’ve been to and we loved that! Highly recommend if you’re looking for off the beaten path and quiet. Its not super fancy like some snobby places we’ve had the misfortune of landing at, but they make you feel like family here and that makes all the difference in our minds.

Mar 21, 2025 · Dezy BooAfter a dusty drive up the hill I realize the junkyard at the bottom the hill is cleaner then the campground. The picture that is being shown the person who took the picture Has his back to the junkyard at the top of the hill. On top of that it looks like a nasty trailer park. Do not waste your time. I chose not to use the description I used when I got to the top because it’s not very clean. I only gave it one star because I had to give us something to post this.
