Reachable at (931) 657-5012 or +1 931-657-5012, Hy-Lake Christian Camp has been a cherished destination for faith-based gatherings for decades, as evidenced by the enthusiastic reviews from returning groups.
One of the most compelling endorsements for Hy-Lake Christian Camp comes from the Otter Creek Church, which has been utilizing the facility for their week-long summer camp since 1993. Their statement, "Outside of owning our own retreat center, I never see us leaving," speaks volumes about the quality and suitability of Hy-Lake for recurring group events. This long-term relationship underscores the camp's ability to consistently meet the needs and expectations of its users, establishing it as a reliable choice for local organizations planning retreats or camps.
The reviewer from Otter Creek Church describes Hy-Lake as "a top-notch place with just enough old mixed in with new." This suggests a comfortable and well-maintained facility that balances classic charm with modern updates. This blend likely creates an environment that feels both familiar and functional, offering the best of both worlds for groups seeking a retreat setting. The sentiment, "They don't make many places like this anymore," further emphasizes the unique and valuable nature of Hy-Lake Christian Camp within the local landscape of retreat centers and campgrounds.
While the reviews do not explicitly detail the specific amenities and features of Hy-Lake Christian Camp, the context of a "Christian Camp" implies certain common offerings. Such facilities typically include lodging accommodations, which could range from dorm-style buildings to individual cabins, depending on the group size and preferences. They often have communal dining halls where meals can be served to large groups, as well as meeting spaces suitable for worship services, Bible studies, and other group activities. Recreational facilities are also common, potentially including outdoor sports areas, swimming facilities (perhaps a lake, given the name "Hy-Lake"), and spaces for fellowship and relaxation.
The name "Hy-Lake Christian Camp" itself suggests a significant natural feature – a lake. This would undoubtedly enhance the environment of the camp, providing opportunities for water-based activities such as swimming, boating (if permitted), or simply enjoying the peaceful presence of the water. A lakeside setting often contributes to a tranquil and reflective atmosphere, ideal for spiritual retreats and summer camps focused on personal growth and fellowship.
Given its history of hosting week-long summer camps and church retreats, Hy-Lake Christian Camp is likely equipped to handle larger groups and provide the necessary logistical support for such events. This could include on-site staff who are experienced in managing group activities, coordinating meals, and ensuring the smooth operation of the facilities. The positive mention of "Thank you JC and Donna!" suggests that there are dedicated individuals who play a key role in the positive experiences of the camp's visitors, further highlighting the personal and caring service that local groups might expect.
For local churches and organizations searching for "camping near me" that can accommodate group retreats, summer camps, or similar events, Hy-Lake Christian Camp presents a compelling option with a proven track record. Another great week of Camp Koinonia! To God be the glory! Christ is King!

May 21, 2018 · Jamon MartinWhat can I say, this is hands down the best camping grounds I’ve been to, I’ve been here for many many years as we go every year with our church Nashville Inner City Ministry, so many upgrades has happened & just love the site, just hate climbing that hill to get to cabin 20 😂but that’s our cabin since 2012, after we have up cabin 13, but I’m ready for this Sunday when we leave!!!!! CAN’T WAIT
May 26, 2022 · Barrington MooreIs Mrs. Mason still haunting those grounds? I met her ghost in 1982 as a camp attendee. Was a great place tho. Rappelling stations, archery, Canoeing, etc. Great lifetime learnings. Not sure about how the Christian emphasis has influenced it of late because I don’t recall it being a religious base when I was there. Just a good ol summer camp for kids of all ages.Came to mind recently so I thot I’d share.
Mar 05, 2019 · Garrett WeinerNo one answered phones for 3 days. How it that possible. How are emergencies handled. Pls dont let your child attend a church camp there. If anything were to happen, no office staff to help. Zero security on staff for any protection of campers. Beware!!!!!!
