Jellystone Park™ Grayling Introduce
For local families and outdoor enthusiasts searching for the perfect "camping near me" experience in Michigan, Jellystone Park™ Grayling, located at 370 W 4 Mile Rd, Grayling, MI 49738, USA, presents itself as a long-standing destination with a focus on family fun. With contact numbers (989) 348-2157 and +1 989-348-2157, this campground, part of the well-known Jellystone Park™ franchise, aims to provide a memorable getaway for guests of all ages. When you're seeking a local camping option that offers more than just a campsite, Jellystone Park™ Grayling positions itself as an activity-filled resort experience.
One long-term customer enthusiastically shares their positive experiences, stating, "My family and I have been staying here for years; we have always had great experiences!" This positive sentiment highlights a history of satisfying visits, suggesting that Jellystone Park™ Grayling has cultivated a loyal following within the local community. The reviewer further emphasizes the park's commitment to continuous improvement, noting, "Each year new equipment is added for guest use, each year new activities are introduced." This dedication to enhancing the guest experience suggests that returning visitors can anticipate new and exciting elements each season, keeping the experience fresh and engaging. For families with children, like the reviewer's 8 and 11-year-olds who "always look forward to our weekends at Yogi," the anticipation of "what new things will they have this year" underscores the park's appeal as a kid-friendly destination. The reviewer's eagerness to return each spring for "more camping fun" speaks volumes about the enjoyable and memorable experiences provided.
However, it's essential to consider all aspects of the customer feedback to gain a balanced understanding. One recent guest who rented an RV shared a specific issue regarding provided amenities: "No where in the listing does it say they don’t supply hand soap for the RV, we found out while going to use the bathroom and had to buy some." While this guest acknowledged that they resolved the issue by purchasing soap, this feedback points to a potential lack of clarity in the listing regarding basic supplies in their rental units. For local users considering renting an RV at Jellystone Park™ Grayling, this review serves as a reminder to potentially inquire about the specific amenities included to avoid unexpected inconveniences.
Another recent review raises concerns regarding the campground's cancellation policy and associated fees. This guest, who had been a long-time visitor, booked a three-night RV stay for $623 but had to cancel within five days of booking, nearly five months prior to the reservation date. They reported being refunded only $533, indicating a $90 deduction. The reviewer expressed their dissatisfaction with the stated $50 cancellation fee on the website, labeling it as "price gouging," especially given the significant time frame before the intended stay. Furthermore, they noted a $35 charge for site selection, which they expected to be refunded upon cancellation but was not. The reviewer stated, "No where on their site does it say we will not get the site selection back with cancellation." This experience led to the conclusion that the campground has "turned into a money pit filled with hidden fees and price gouging," which is a significant concern for potential local campers, especially those who have been loyal customers in the past.
Considering these reviews, local users searching for "camping near me" should be aware of both the positive aspects, such as the ongoing additions of equipment and activities that appeal to families, and the potential drawbacks related to transparency regarding amenities in rentals and the specifics of the cancellation policy, including associated fees for cancellation and site selection. It would be prudent for prospective campers to thoroughly review the campground's policies and confirm the included amenities when booking, especially for RV rentals.
While the provided information doesn't offer specific details about the environment of Jellystone Park™ Grayling, the very nature of a Jellystone Park™ often implies a family-oriented atmosphere with a focus on recreational activities and themed experiences. Located in Grayling, Michigan, the campground likely benefits from the natural beauty of the region, which is known for its forests, rivers (such as the Au Sable and Manistee), and opportunities for outdoor recreation. Campers can likely expect a setting that allows for enjoying nature while also having access to the park's amenities and planned activities. For local users seeking a blend of outdoor relaxation and organized fun, the environment of Jellystone Park™ Grayling is likely geared towards active families.
In terms of services and features, Jellystone Park™ campgrounds are typically known for offering a wide array beyond basic campsites. Based on the positive review mentioning new equipment and activities each year, local campers can likely anticipate:
- Various Accommodation Options: These may include tent sites, RV sites with different hookup levels, and cabin or cottage rentals to suit different needs and preferences.
- Recreational Facilities: Jellystone Parks often feature amenities like swimming pools, water parks or splash pads, playgrounds, sports courts (basketball, volleyball, etc.), and game rooms. The mention of "new equipment" suggests ongoing investment in these areas.
- Organized Activities: A key feature of Jellystone Parks is the schedule of daily activities, often themed around the Yogi Bear characters. These can include arts and crafts, games, storytelling, character meet-and-greets, hayrides, and more. The reviewer noting "new activities are introduced" each year highlights this aspect.
- Campground Amenities: Essential services such as restrooms, showers, laundry facilities, and potentially a camp store for supplies are usually available.
- Wi-Fi Access: Many modern campgrounds offer internet access for guests.
However, the review regarding the lack of hand soap in the RV rental serves as a reminder to verify specific amenities provided with each type of accommodation.
Regarding promotional information, the enthusiastic long-term customer review acts as a strong positive endorsement. The mention of continuous improvements and new activities can be seen as an implicit promotion of the evolving and engaging experience offered at Jellystone Park™ Grayling. For local families looking for a reliable and fun-filled "camping near me" option, this feedback is valuable. However, the more recent negative review concerning cancellation fees and transparency is a critical point of consideration. Potential local users should carefully review the campground's policies regarding reservations, cancellations, and any additional charges, such as site selection fees, to avoid unexpected costs. It would be beneficial to inquire directly with the campground about their current promotions, seasonal discounts, or any special packages they might be offering to local residents.
In conclusion, Jellystone Park™ Grayling offers a potentially exciting and activity-rich "camping near me" experience for local families in Michigan, as highlighted by a long-term customer's positive feedback regarding continuous improvements and engaging activities. However, prospective campers should also be aware of the concerns raised in a more recent review regarding the transparency of amenities in rental units and the campground's cancellation policies, including potential fees for cancellation and site selection. To make an informed decision, local users are encouraged to contact Jellystone Park™ Grayling directly at (989) 348-2157 or +1 989-348-2157 to inquire about specific amenities, clarify their cancellation policy, and ask about any current promotions or local discounts. By doing so, local families can determine if the offerings and policies of Jellystone Park™ Grayling align with their expectations for a memorable and hassle-free camping adventure.

Jellystone Park™ Grayling Reviews
My family and I have been staying here for years; we have always had great experiences! Each year new equipment is added for guest use, each year new activities are introduced, my kids always look forward to our weekends at Yogi (they are 8 and 11). They are always wondering “what new things will they have this year” and have never been disappointed! We are anxiously awaiting spring so we can get back there for more camping fun!
Feb 14, 2025 · MELINDA FRANKLINWe stayed last year and rented one of their RVs. No where in the listing does it say they don’t supply hand soap for the RV, we found out while going to use the bathroom and had to buy some. It was fine, we bought soap and went about our stay. This year, I booked for the same weekend. Within 5 days we had to cancel our reservations. The website states there is a $50 cancellation fee (price gouging, in my opinion, especially considering we cancelled almost 5 months away from our reservation). I paid $623 for our 3 night stay in their RV and with my refund only had $533 returned. Not sure where the hidden fees are that I was charged $90 for cancellation. I also did not realize that it cost $35 to be able to select a site near your family. This charge should have been refunded with the cancellation. No where on their site does it say we will not get the site selection back with cancellation. This campground got $90 out of me for a reservation I held for 5 days. Our family has been coming here for years, what a shame that it’s turned into a money pit filled with hidden fees and price gouging.
Feb 05, 2025 · Amber DelorI have been coming here with my family every fall for 5 years! It's now a tradition for our family - and wouldn't want to miss it for the world. The new owners seem to be making upgrades every year, which is nice. They have rental campers and cabins now- which is good for those without campers. Trick or Treating is done well. They added story time with the bears and glow hayrides (my son loves) and donuts with cindy (my daughter loves)....and the food options seem to keep expanding every year. I recommend purchasing a souvenir slushie and popcorn bucket from the snack area (first fill is free) and to refill its less then $2. We easily fill up at least 2 or 3 times during the weekend. Yogi cartoons are a classic and great to see before my favorite part- the GLOW DANCE! So much fun. Looking forward to another 5+ years here making memories with my kiddos.
Feb 14, 2025 · Tiffany GonzalezWe stayed here for the first time in June of 2023, and what an awesome park! The staff was amazing, the campground helpers were right next to us, and they were an amazing family and so helpful! The sites are nice and big! The place is pet friendly, and there were a lot of little trails we could walk the dogs down. There is SO much for kids to do here! There is so much outdoor stuff to do around the area! We took our dogs on a lot of hikes and did some Jeep rides on some awesome trails! It's a great location, and a really fun atmosphere!
Nov 02, 2024 · Jessica “SnowDogs” HatchThis park is amazing! We (my wife, my daughter and myself) bought our first camper, a travel trailer 7 years ago. Our first year we booked a trip to this park with a group of friends and absolutely fell in love as our daughter was 1.5 yrs old at the time. The next year we went up 3 or 4 times with friends. The following year we did the 6 weeks early season camping special by ourselves and booked several more trips with and without friends, one of which was a 10 day stay during the 4th of July week and always ended our year there with a Halloween weekend. We sold our travel trailer and bought a 5th wheel and 3 years ago we were blessed with the opportunity to become seasonal campers! This will be our third summer as seasonals and we literally try to make it to the campground every weekend that they're open. We have made so many amazing friends there over the last 7 years. We call the other seasonal campers our camping family. We even hang out with a handful of them in the "non camping season" and keep each other calm while we go through camping withdrawals! Lol Over the years we've got to know the old owners and the current owners very well. Both did and have done an amazing job ALWAYS making us and everyone they encounter feel like family and friends. The staff is amazing as well, a lot of them are younger girls and boys that are still in Highschool, they do an extraordinary job running and participating in the daily activities while engaging with the kids. Many of them have grown up camping there themselves and know exactly what the camping kids and adults love when it comes to the one on one interactions a lot of the activities involve. This park is out in the middle of forest in Grayling and gives you that I'm in the outdoors camping feeling while still having an amazing list of activities, themed weekends and amenities to provide you with constant stimulation ALL day long of that's what you're looking for. Or you can lay back and watch the ground squirrels scurrying about, birds singing, maybe see a deer while taking a morning stroll. You can go lay by the pool and catch some rays, play putt putt, volleyball, basketball, frisbee in the park, take a bike ride, wagon ride, watching movies/cartoons at night on the outdoor screen, dancing the night away at the glow dance in front of the ranger station, etc.....All in all this park has become our home away from home for almost 7 months a year literally almost every single weekend and several full weeks from late April through The middle of October. I recommend this park to everyone that wants to go camping whether you're in a tent, camper, renting a cabin or a rental camper. There's something for everyone here at Jellystone Park Grayling Michigan!!!
