Larson's Resort Introduce
Are you a local resident of Greenville, Michigan, or the surrounding areas, seeking a lakeside camping experience with opportunities for fishing? Larson's Resort, located at 10293 Morgan Mills Rd NE, Greenville, MI 48838, USA, is listed within the 'Camping Near Me' category and appears to offer a tranquil setting with access to local lakes. Based on the limited customer feedback available, this introduction aims to provide an objective overview of the potential environment, services, and features, while also noting a concerning experience reported by one potential visitor regarding boat launch policies. Local users are encouraged to consider both the positive and negative feedback when evaluating this campground.
A "Nice, Quiet Campground" with Lakeside Access:
One reviewer describes Larson's Resort as a "nice, quiet campground." This suggests that the environment is likely peaceful and conducive to relaxation, potentially appealing to those seeking a break from more bustling campgrounds. The implicit connection to lakes, mentioned by a local resident who has "fished these lakes since I was young," indicates that Larson's Resort likely offers access to one or more lakes in the Greenville area. Lakeside campgrounds often provide opportunities for various water-based activities such as fishing, boating, and swimming (though swimming is not explicitly mentioned in the reviews). The natural environment would likely be characterized by the lake(s) and the surrounding landscape, which in Michigan often includes woodlands and scenic views.
Friendly Owner and a Convenient Store:
The same positive review highlights a "friendly owner," which can significantly enhance the camping experience. A welcoming and helpful owner can contribute to a positive atmosphere and provide valuable assistance to guests. The presence of a "nice little store" on-site adds to the convenience for campers, offering the possibility to purchase essential supplies, snacks, or perhaps fishing-related items without having to leave the campground. This amenity can be particularly valuable for those who may have forgotten something or prefer to buy certain items upon arrival.
Boat Rentals for Fishing Enthusiasts:
A key feature mentioned in the positive review is the availability to "rent boats to go fishing." This directly caters to those interested in angling and suggests that the lakes accessible from Larson's Resort are suitable for fishing. The ability to rent boats on-site eliminates the need to bring one's own or arrange rentals elsewhere, adding to the convenience for fishing enthusiasts. The type of boats available for rent (e.g., rowboats, canoes, small motorboats) is not specified.
Concerns Regarding Boat Launch Policies and Customer Service:
In contrast to the positive feedback, another local resident reported a negative experience when inquiring about launching a pontoon boat. This individual described the interaction as "rude" and highlighted a perceived inconsistency and potential upcharge based on the intended use of the boat. The initial quote of $7 for launching increased to $10 after the potential customer indicated they intended to go for a "pontoon ride." This experience raises concerns about the transparency and fairness of the boat launch policies and the customer service provided in this particular instance. The reviewer's decision to "go watch it for free somewhere else" and their questioning of the lake's fishing quality ("lakes are questionable at that!") also present negative points for potential visitors to consider.
Implications for Local Users Searching 'Camping Near Me':
For local users in the Greenville, MI, area exploring 'Camping Near Me', Larson's Resort presents a mixed picture. The positive review suggests a quiet, lakeside campground with a friendly owner, a store, and boat rentals, making it appealing for those seeking a peaceful fishing getaway. However, the negative experience reported regarding the boat launch policy and customer interaction is a significant factor that potential visitors should be aware of. It highlights the importance of clarifying policies and potentially confirming costs beforehand, especially if planning to bring or launch a boat.
Lack of Information on Campsite Details and Other Amenities:
The limited reviews do not provide details about the types of campsites available (e.g., tent sites, RV sites), the availability of hookups (electricity, water, sewer), restroom and shower facilities, fire pits, picnic tables, or other common campground amenities. Local users with specific needs regarding these aspects will need to seek this information from external sources or by contacting Larson's Resort directly.
Absence of Promotional Information:
Neither of the available reviews mentions any promotional offers or special rates. Local users might want to inquire directly with Larson's Resort about potential discounts for local residents, seasonal specials, or any packages that might include boat rentals or other services.
Recommendations for Local Users:
Given the contrasting feedback, local users interested in Larson's Resort should consider the following:
- Weigh the positive and negative feedback: Consider whether the appeal of a quiet lakeside campground with boat rentals outweighs the reported negative experience with boat launch policies and customer service.
- Inquire about boat launch policies and costs: If you plan to bring or launch a boat, especially a pontoon boat, contact Larson's Resort directly to clarify their policies, procedures, and any associated fees. It would be wise to get a clear and consistent answer regarding pricing based on the size and intended use of your boat.
- Ask about campsite details and amenities: Contact the resort to inquire about the types of campsites available, hookups, restroom facilities, and other amenities that are important to your camping needs.
- Enquire about boat rental options and costs: If you are interested in renting a boat for fishing, ask about the types of boats available, rental rates, and any restrictions or requirements.
- Seek additional reviews or information: Look for Larson's Resort on other camping review websites or social media platforms to see if more recent or detailed feedback is available.
- Consider alternative campgrounds in the Greenville area: Utilize the 'Camping Near Me' platform to explore other options and compare amenities, reviews, and policies.
Conclusion: A Lakeside Option with Potential, but Policies Warrant Clarification:
Larson's Resort near Greenville, MI, appears to be a potentially "nice, quiet campground" with the added benefit of lake access and boat rentals for fishing. The friendly owner and on-site store are also positive aspects mentioned by one reviewer. However, the negative experience reported by another local resident regarding boat launch policies and customer service is a significant concern that prospective visitors should address by seeking direct clarification from the resort. Local users searching for 'Camping Near Me' in the Greenville area should weigh these contrasting points and gather more detailed information about campsite amenities and policies before making a decision about staying at Larson's Resort.

Larson's Resort Reviews
I have lived nearby and fished these lakes since I was young and in high school but I have never witnessed anyone being rude until recently I called to ask if I could launch a pontoon boat. First they tell me the price is $7. When I asked if the launch is big enough for a pontoon boat, then she asked if I was just going to launch it and go for a pontoon ride. I wanted to answer no I plan on spending the night on the pontoon!. Really? What kind of question is that? Then she ups the price to $10. I'll keep my $10 and go watch it for free somewhere else that has a lot better fishing cause the lakes are questionable at that!
Jul 19, 2024 · Ryan LeeNice, quiet campground. Friendly owner, nice little store and can rent boars to go fishing
Apr 24, 2024 · Violet HutsonOwner of park had no remorse after speaking to her on not being able to use the lot we paid $400 a month for after terrential rain fall. It is apparent she has no drainage system and no concrete pad for this lot. I paid $800 for the month of May and June. I asked for a reimbursement for the June’s rent because i can’t walk to my door without walking through 6-8 inches of standing water which will be at least a couple of weeks before the water recedes. The rain is not her fault but her actions are. I would not recommend this resort after the way we were treated by carol larson. If I could post pics of what my campsite looks like right now on this review I certainly would. I have several. I will never stay or recommend this resort to anyone.

Jul 01, 2023 · Lainey BallBeverages and snacks. Open year-round. Camping and boating available in the Summer. Run by Carol Larson, a sweet but pragmatic lady who keeps herself busy with various projects when customer traffic is sparse, but welcomes everyone into her store with a smile, a story, and sometimes even a hug.
