Little Deer Creek Campground Introduce
For local Utah residents and visitors seeking a camping experience with convenient access to trails and scenic mountain views, Little Deer Creek Campground near Midway presents an interesting option. Featured within the 'camping near me' category, this campground offers a blend of desirable amenities and natural beauty, although potential visitors should also be aware of certain considerations regarding access and wildlife.
The environment surrounding Little Deer Creek Campground is characterized by its advantageous location. Campers can enjoy easy access to nearby trails, making it an ideal base for hiking and exploring the natural landscape. Additionally, the campground boasts great views of the majestic Wasatch Mountains, providing a stunning backdrop for your outdoor adventure. The natural beauty of the area is clearly a significant draw for visitors seeking a picturesque camping destination.
In terms of services and features, Little Deer Creek Campground offers several notable perks. One highly appreciated amenity, mentioned by a satisfied camper, is the presence of running water directly at the campsite. This is a significant convenience, especially for longer stays or for families needing easy access to water for cooking and cleaning. Campers also benefit from established fire pits, providing a safe and designated area for campfires, and large picnic tables, offering ample space for outdoor meals and gatherings.
Another positive aspect highlighted by a reviewer is the availability of good bathrooms. Clean and well-maintained restroom facilities can greatly enhance the overall camping experience, providing a level of comfort that is often valued by campers. The presence of "good bathrooms" suggests that this is a well-maintained aspect of the campground's services.
However, potential visitors should be aware of some drawbacks mentioned in the reviews. One camper noted the presence of a significant number of bugs, including ticks, in the area. While no one in their party was bitten, they strongly recommended bringing and using good bug spray as a necessary precaution. This suggests that insect repellent is an essential item to pack when planning a trip to Little Deer Creek Campground, particularly during warmer months when bug activity is typically higher.
Another important consideration is the condition of the dirt road leading to the campsite. One reviewer described it as "very rough" and unfortunately experienced tire damage to their car as a result. They further noted that the road seemed more suitable for ATVs and trucks, suggesting that vehicles with lower clearance or less robust tires may be at risk of damage. This is a critical piece of information for potential visitors, as it may influence their decision on which vehicle to use for the trip. If you have a car with low clearance, you might want to reconsider or inquire about the road conditions further before your visit.
Interestingly, one reviewer encountered a situation where someone was parked in their reserved campsite upon arrival. While they were able to resolve this by simply picking another available site, it highlights the importance of clear communication and potentially having a backup plan in case of similar issues. While the reviewer didn't make a significant complaint, it's a factor to be aware of during busy camping periods.
Regarding the fire ring, one camper mentioned that it was "not the deepest" they had seen but acknowledged that it still served its purpose. This is a minor point but provides an honest observation about the fire pit's design. It suggests that while functional, it might not be ideal for very large or long-lasting fires.
Promotional information is not explicitly provided in the reviews. However, the positive aspects such as the nice location with easy trail access, great Wasatch views, running water at the site, good bathrooms, large picnic tables, and established fire pits serve as strong implicit endorsements. For local users browsing the 'camping near me' category, these features, coupled with the beautiful natural surroundings, make Little Deer Creek Campground an attractive option for those seeking a blend of convenience and outdoor adventure.
In summary, Little Deer Creek Campground near Midway, Utah, offers a compelling camping experience with its convenient access to trails, stunning views of the Wasatch Mountains, and valuable amenities like running water at the campsites and good bathroom facilities. However, potential visitors must be prepared for a potentially rough dirt road leading to the campground and the presence of bugs, including ticks, for which effective insect repellent is crucial. The campground appears to be particularly well-suited for those with ATVs or trucks due to the road conditions. Despite these considerations, the overall positive feedback regarding the location and amenities suggests a pleasant camping experience for those who come prepared.

Little Deer Creek Campground Reviews
Nice location with easy access to trails and great view of the Wasatch. Not the deepest fire ring I've seen. However, it does the job. Running water at the site was a welcome perk. One complaint was there were lots of bugs, including ticks in the area. No one in our party got bit, but good bug spray is a must.
Jun 05, 2017 · Michael MadsenIt was pleasant to find a good bathroom, a large picnic table, an established fire pit and a variety of fallen branches to feed the fire. There was someone parked at our designated /reserved space... But we simply picked another and got set up for the weekend. The dirt road to get to the site was very rough. Our car needs a tire repair now that we are home. A good spot for ATVs & trucks.
Jun 25, 2018 · Katherine HackingThis is a great camping spot. We went with 6 people total in a campsite and had just enough room. This campsite is barely accessible by smaller cars. We had an off roading vehicle thankfully but there were no signs warning you of this.Restrooms were clean and campsite was well kept.I would recommend going to deer creek lake while you are there but you have to drive to it from the campsite.BE PREPARED TO BRING BUG SPRAY!! The bugs are minimal at night but during the day they are aggressive. I would recommend a few bug zappers
Jul 05, 2024 · David MeabonThought I'd leave a review since the ones here are fairly old and don't give updated info on the road in. I bring my sedan here all the time. It's one of my favorite places. Head like your going to Cascade Springs on the paved road. Then just past the turn off for Cascade Springs turn onto the Cummings road. Don't take the first turn into the Little Deer Creek Campground sign. Keep going on the better dirt road a little further. There is another main entrance in and you should be fine. My only complaint about this area is there are a lot of flies when I go in the summer.
Jul 14, 2023 · TaLisha LandonA hidden gem! Running water, clean nicer bathrooms, fire rings, tables, tent and trailer sites. There were deer and a few coyotes. Lots of shade, beautiful scenery. Not very crowded/several vacant sites(esp on a mid-Summer weekend). The dirt road just North of Cascade Springs was only a few miles in but super rocky/rugged terrain. Definitely suggest 4x4 or AWD with high clearance.
