Little Rock North / Jct. I-40 KOA Journey Introduce
For local users searching for "camping near me" in the North Little Rock, Arkansas area, the Little Rock North / Jct. I-40 KOA Journey, located at 7820 Kampground Way, North Little Rock, AR 72118, USA, is a campground option affiliated with the KOA (Kampgrounds of America) network. They can be contacted at (501) 758-4598 or their mobile number +1 501-758-4598. However, it is critical to consider recent customer reviews, which present significant concerns about the park's policies, condition, and staff interactions.
One reviewer who stayed for a single night with a 30’ Class C RV and a Subaru with a small enclosed trailer reported being charged for a second site despite having ample space on their booked pull-through site. They felt this was an unfair upcharge, especially noting that larger vehicles on adjacent sites, including their accompanying trucks, occupied more space overall. This reviewer also described the park as "sad" and in need of cleaning and stated they would not return. Additionally, they mentioned significant noise from the highway throughout the night and construction during the day, leading them to not recommend the location.
Another, more alarming review detailed allegations of "harassment from the employees, verbal and physical abuse," directed at them in front of their minor son. This reviewer claimed that staff members were rude and aggressive when they were trying to hook up their jeep, insisting it was against the rules, despite the reviewer stating this wasn't mentioned in the park's materials (a photo of which was allegedly attached). Due to a tight camping spot, they needed to temporarily unhook their jeep to safely maneuver their RV for exit and intended to reconnect it. They reported that staff insisted they hook up on a public road, which they felt would be unsafe. The reviewer further alleged that even the manager yelled and cursed at them, despite their assurances that it would only take a couple of minutes and that they would move if another vehicle needed to pass. This reviewer stated they left the park and would never return to this KOA, expressing shock at such treatment compared to their experiences at perhaps a hundred other KOA locations where they were always allowed to hook up safely within the park.
A third reviewer echoed the sentiment of never having experienced such poor treatment at a KOA before, based on the account of the second reviewer. This suggests that the issues described are not typical of the KOA experience as perceived by this individual.
Based on these reviews, the environment of the Little Rock North / Jct. I-40 KOA Journey appears to be affected by highway noise and potential construction during the day. The physical condition of the park is described as "sad" and in need of cleanup by one reviewer. More concerning are the allegations of upcharging, rule enforcement that seemed unreasonable to one guest, and the serious claims of harassment, verbal and physical abuse by staff, including the manager, as reported by another.
In terms of services, the park does offer pull-through sites that can accommodate larger RVs. However, the policy regarding additional vehicles or trailers on a single site seems to have led to extra charges in at least one instance. The availability of standard RV park amenities like hookups (water, electric, sewer) is implied but not detailed in these reviews. The negative feedback overshadows any potential positive services that might be offered.
Features typically associated with KOA campgrounds, such as recreational facilities, clean restrooms, or a welcoming atmosphere, are not highlighted positively in these recent reviews. In fact, one review explicitly mentions the lack of a pleasant environment due to the highway noise and the perceived condition of the park. The alleged behavior of the staff, if accurate, would be a significant negative feature.
There is no promotional information present in the provided data. Given the nature of the recent feedback, it is unlikely that any positive promotional message would resonate without addressing the serious concerns raised by these customers.
For local users searching for "camping near me," the Little Rock North / Jct. I-40 KOA Journey is geographically located in North Little Rock and offers RV sites. However, the recent customer experiences shared online raise significant red flags. Potential visitors should be aware of the reported issues with potential upcharging, the condition of the park, noise from the highway and construction, and, most seriously, the allegations of harassment and abuse by staff.
Given this information, it would be highly advisable for local users to either seek alternative campgrounds in the area or to contact the Little Rock North / Jct. I-40 KOA Journey directly to inquire about these concerns and understand their response. The negative feedback is strong and consistent in highlighting a problematic guest experience.
In summary, the Little Rock North / Jct. I-40 KOA Journey:
- Offers pull-through RV sites.
- Has been reported to have issues with upcharging for additional vehicles.
- Is described by one reviewer as "sad" and in need of cleanup.
- Suffers from significant noise due to its proximity to the highway and potential construction.
- Has been the subject of very serious allegations regarding staff harassment, verbal and physical abuse towards guests.
Due to these significant negative reports, local users looking for "camping near me" should exercise extreme caution and consider these experiences before choosing to stay at the Little Rock North / Jct. I-40 KOA Journey. Further investigation or choosing an alternative location might be prudent based on the provided customer feedback.

Little Rock North / Jct. I-40 KOA Journey Reviews
We only stayed one night. We booked one site…a pull through that was plenty large enough to accommodate our 30’ Class C and our Subaru with a small enclosed trailer. The staff made us pay for a second site for the car and trailer. We had a good 8 feet in front and 10 feet behind our rig. They said that we couldn’t fit everything in one site but that was NOT true. There was a huge Class A on one side and a huge 5th wheel on the other. Both of those along with their trucks was longer than all 3 of ours!!! This place likes to up charge people. The park is sad and needs to be cleaned up. We won’t be back!!!Oh and there’s the highway sounds all night and construction during the day. Definitely don’t recommend!!!
Apr 30, 2025 · Marjorie GriczinAvoid the Little Rock North KOA!!!We faced harassment from the employees, verbal and physical abuse, who were rude and aggressive in front of our minor son. While trying to hook up our jeep the staff yelled and cursed at us insisting it was against the rules, see attached photo below though this isn’t mentioned in their materials. Our camping spot was too tight to exit easily so we needed to unhook and follow my husband to the exit to reconnect the jeep safely .They were insisted to hook up on a public road, which where we would be unsafe! Even the manager she was yelling and cursing at us, despite our assurance that it would only take 2 minutes and we told them we will move if there’s vehicle behind us. During that time nobody came! We just wanted to hook up our vehicle safely, but the employees were rude and unhelpful and continue to curse at us. Attached the photo of the map/rules and one of the staff who attacked us. The manager who refused to give her name although asked repeatedly. We left the park and pray for them and will never return to this KOA.Wow!!! We have never experienced treatment like this at the KOA. As we have stayed in maybe a hundred and we were always allowed to hook up safely in the park.
May 03, 2025 · M RI highly recommend Journey KOA, whether you need a overnight spot, or like me needed a spot for extended stay. The staff made me feel welcome from the moment I arrived, they were extremely nice, kind and helpful. The camp sites are very well maintained. The showers were very clean and the facilities were nice. If I ever find myself in Little Rock for an extended period, this is where I will stay. Also this KOA is close to Baptist Health Medical Center-Little Rock. Best Regards Steve.
Apr 30, 2025 · Steve BrittonThis is a nice KOA. It is old and really in need of some TLC. Everything was neat and clean, just tired. Site was level and utilities were good. We had a level concrete pad. Lot of dog poop stations. Asphalt roads and concrete pads. Near interstate (all good RV parks are) so some road noise but not bad. We had friendly encounters with staff. All-in-all a nice, older, in need of updates KOA.WiFi was not so good. And ATT and Verizon cell coverage was 2 bars.
Apr 14, 2025 · Beverly TidwellI must give KOAs kudos for their exceptional parks. They are very clean with nice amenities. The North Little Rock was no exception. Larry and his wife were warm and friendly at check-in. Larry goes the extra mile and guides you to you spot. If you travel with dogs, as we do, the pet areas were clean and tidy. We will definitely stay there again when our travels bring us that way again.
