Memphis East Campground Introduce
For local residents in the Lakeland, Tennessee, and surrounding Memphis metropolitan area who are seeking 'camping near me' for an extended duration, Memphis East Campground, located at 3291 Shoehorn Dr in Lakeland, presents a unique option. Based on recent customer feedback, it is crucial to understand that this campground operates with a minimum stay requirement of three months. This information is vital for local users browsing for short-term camping solutions, as Memphis East Campground primarily caters to those needing a longer-term base.
The address in Lakeland, TN, suggests a location within a suburban environment east of Memphis. Lakeland is known for its residential areas and proximity to various amenities and attractions in the greater Memphis region. The reviews offer some insight into the environment and community at Memphis East Campground. One reviewer noted a "great location and neighbors," indicating that the campground benefits from a favorable setting and a positive social atmosphere among the residents. This sense of community can be particularly appealing for those planning an extended stay, as having friendly neighbors can significantly enhance the overall living experience.
Another comment mentioned that the location is "close yet secluded." This is an interesting observation, suggesting that Memphis East Campground might offer a sense of peacefulness and separation from the immediate urban hustle, while still being conveniently located near essential services and potentially recreational opportunities. The balance between accessibility and a degree of seclusion can be a significant draw for long-term residents seeking a comfortable and convenient living situation.
However, the most critical piece of information derived from the reviews pertains to the campground's policy regarding the duration of stay and the associated fees. One reviewer explicitly stated, "Minimum stay of 3 months which I didn't know until reading these reviews." This highlights the importance of this policy for prospective campers to be aware of upfront. If you are looking for overnight, weekend, or even weekly camping options, Memphis East Campground, based on this information, is likely not suitable.
Furthermore, the same reviewer detailed the financial implications of this policy, noting, "If you come in after the 1st or leave before the end of the month it is $450 regardless. Husband came in the 17th of the month and when I paid the first of the next month I had to pay the full 450 for both months." This indicates a fixed monthly rate of $450, and it appears that this rate applies regardless of the specific arrival or departure date within a month. This billing structure is crucial for anyone considering a stay at Memphis East Campground, as it deviates from the more common pro-rated or per-night fees found at many short-term campgrounds.
Given this focus on long-term stays, the services and features at Memphis East Campground are likely geared towards the needs of extended residents. While the reviews do not explicitly list specific amenities, we can infer some possibilities based on the context of a long-term RV park. These might include:
- **Full Hookup RV Sites:** Given the likelihood of accommodating RVs for three-month minimum stays, it's probable that the sites offer water, electricity, and sewer hookups.
- **Laundry Facilities:** Essential for residents staying for an extended period.
- **Restrooms and Showers:** While long-term residents often have these facilities in their RVs, they are usually available within the campground as well.
- **Trash Disposal:** Provisions for waste management are necessary for any campground, especially one with long-term residents.
- **Potentially Wi-Fi Access:** Increasingly expected by those living in RV parks for extended periods.
- **Common Areas:** Some long-term parks offer communal spaces for social gatherings or recreation.
To obtain a definitive list of the services and features available at Memphis East Campground, contacting them directly via phone is essential. They can provide details on the specific amenities offered to their long-term residents.
Regarding the environment, the "great location" and "close yet secluded" comments suggest a potentially pleasant setting. Lakeland, TN, offers a mix of suburban and more rural areas, so the campground might be situated in a quieter part of town while still being within easy reach of services and attractions in Lakeland and the broader Memphis area. For those planning to reside in their RV for an extended period, the surrounding environment and its accessibility to daily needs and leisure activities are important considerations.
As for promotional information, none is available in the provided reviews. Given the focus on a minimum three-month stay and a fixed monthly rate, traditional short-term promotions like weekend discounts or seasonal offers might not be applicable. However, it is still worth inquiring directly with the campground management about any potential long-term stay discounts or other incentives for extended residency. They can provide the most accurate information regarding their pricing structure and any available special rates for longer commitments beyond the initial three-month minimum.
In conclusion, for local residents in the Lakeland and Memphis East areas searching for 'camping near me,' it is crucial to understand that Memphis East Campground operates primarily as a long-term RV park with a minimum stay requirement of three months and a fixed monthly rate of $450, regardless of the arrival or departure date within a month. While the campground is noted for its great location, friendly neighbors, and a sense of being close yet secluded, it is not a suitable option for short-term camping needs. Those interested in a long-term stay should contact Memphis East Campground directly at (901) 388-3053 or mobile +1 901-388-3053 to inquire about the specific services, features, and any potential discounts for extended residency beyond the initial three-month commitment. Understanding these long-term-focused policies is essential for local users to determine if Memphis East Campground aligns with their camping requirements.

Jan 13, 2025 · Darrin DuFurThis was an easy in and an easy out place for our over night stay. How ever the state was doing construction on I40 which made it hard to get back on the interstate going East but that was no fault of the camp site. This is an older camp ground but was well kept. They have a system that makes it easy for weekend and night arrivals. Easy set up. No cable but was able to get several channels without cable. It is in the middle of a moble home park but it is a nice, clean and well kept place. We will be happy to stay again on our next trip through! Thank you!!
Nov 21, 2016 · A1momof3It is adjacent to the Canada Trace mobile home park, which is a very well maintained park with newer or decently maintained mobile homes. No trash or litter in yards. The RV sites are under trees for good shade and are pull through. Level gravel sites with neatly mowed grass. Quiet. No road noise or neighbor noise.
