Mr Ed's Campground Introduce
For local residents in Wisconsin searching within the "camping near me" category, Mr. Ed's Campground, located at N3554 WI-67, Campbellsport, WI 53010, USA, presents itself as a potential option for a seasonal or short-term camping experience. The provided information includes the address and phone numbers ((920) 533-4342 and +1 920-533-4342), along with mixed reviews from recent campers that offer insights into the campground's atmosphere, amenities, and management style.
Campbellsport is situated in southeastern Wisconsin, a region characterized by a mix of rural landscapes, small towns, and natural areas. The environment surrounding Mr. Ed's Campground likely reflects this, potentially offering a setting with open fields, some wooded areas, and a generally quieter atmosphere away from major urban centers. The specific natural attractions in the immediate vicinity are not detailed, but the region offers opportunities for outdoor activities typical of Wisconsin, such as hiking, fishing in nearby lakes or rivers, and enjoying the seasonal beauty of the landscape.
One positive review highlights the strong sense of community at Mr. Ed's Campground, stating, "Great community feel and lovely owners." This suggests that the campground fosters a welcoming and social environment where campers can connect with one another. The reviewer also mentions that "What the camp doesn't offer in amenities it makes up for in community and beauty." This is a crucial point, indicating that while the campground might have limited facilities compared to some others, its social atmosphere and the inherent beauty of the location are significant draws for some visitors.
However, another review presents a contrasting perspective, focusing on issues with the campground owners. This reviewer found the "campground itself is very nice" and the "campers are wonderful people," echoing the positive sentiment about the community. However, their negative experiences were "strictly with the owners," whom they accuse of being "not friendly at all," "very into your business when they shouldn't be," and creating an environment where the constant monitoring prevented relaxation and enjoyment. This review suggests that the management style might be a significant factor for potential campers to consider, as it heavily impacted this individual's overall experience.
Based on these reviews, we can infer some potential services and features of Mr. Ed's Campground:
- Campsites: The mention of a "very nice" campground suggests the presence of designated campsites suitable for various types of camping units, such as tents and RVs. The nature of hookups (electric, water, sewer) is not specified.
- Community Atmosphere: A strong sense of community appears to be a key feature, with friendly fellow campers contributing to a positive social environment.
- Natural Beauty: The reviewer who loved their summer stay mentioned the "beauty" of the location, indicating an appealing natural setting.
- Potentially Limited Amenities: The statement that the community and beauty compensate for a lack of amenities suggests that the campground might not offer an extensive range of facilities. This could mean fewer restrooms/showers, limited recreational facilities, or fewer modern conveniences compared to more amenity-rich campgrounds.
Conversely, potential drawbacks to consider, based on the negative review, include:
- Unfriendly or Overly Involved Owners: The management style of the owners is a significant concern raised by one reviewer, who felt they were intrusive and unwelcoming.
- Accusations of Wrongdoing: The accusation of things "you didn't do" by the owners is a serious concern that could create a negative and stressful camping environment.
- Lack of Privacy and Relaxation: Constant monitoring by the owners reportedly hindered the ability of at least one camper to relax and enjoy their stay.
Given the mixed feedback, it is challenging to outline specific promotional information. However, if Mr. Ed's Campground aims to attract more local users, they might focus on:
- Highlighting the strong sense of community and the friendly nature of the other campers, as attested by both reviewers.
- Showcasing the natural beauty of the campground and its surroundings, emphasizing the peaceful and scenic environment.
- Being transparent about the level of amenities offered, managing expectations for campers who prioritize extensive facilities.
- Addressing the concerns raised in the negative review regarding management style to ensure a more welcoming and relaxed atmosphere for all guests.
For local users in the "camping near me" category considering Mr. Ed's Campground, it is crucial to weigh the positive feedback about the community and beauty against the serious concerns raised about the owners' management style. The experience seems to be heavily influenced by interactions with the campground management.
To make an informed decision, local campers should consider the following steps:
- Contact Mr. Ed's Campground directly using the provided phone numbers: (920) 533-4342 or +1 920-533-4342. Inquire about the types of campsites available, the specific amenities offered, and their policies regarding guest interactions and monitoring.
- Search online for additional reviews of Mr. Ed's Campground on various platforms (e.g., Google Maps, Yelp, camping-specific review sites) to get a broader range of opinions and more detailed insights into the experiences of other campers.
- If possible, speak to someone who has recently stayed at the campground to get a current perspective on the atmosphere and management.
- Consider your personal priorities for a camping trip. If community and a beautiful setting are paramount and you are less concerned about extensive amenities, Mr. Ed's might be appealing. However, if a relaxed and private experience with minimal management interaction is important, the negative review raises significant red flags.
In conclusion, Mr. Ed's Campground near Campbellsport, Wisconsin, appears to offer a campground with a strong sense of community and natural beauty, which are highly valued by some campers. However, potential local users must also be aware of the serious concerns raised in another review regarding the behavior and management style of the owners, which reportedly led to a negative and uncomfortable experience. Further research and direct communication with the campground are essential to determine if Mr. Ed's Campground aligns with individual camping preferences and expectations.

Mr Ed's Campground Reviews
We have LOVED our summer here at Mr. Ed's. Great community feel and lovely owners. What the camp doesn't offer in amenities it makes up for in community and beauty.
Jul 24, 2024 · Joanna VanDerLindenThe campground itself is very nice. The campers are wonderful people. My issues are strictly with the owners. They accuse you of things you didn’t do, are not friendly at all, are very into your business when they shouldn't be, and because of them constantly monitoring everyone we could not relax and enjoy the place. I think this could be a wonderful, family friendly campground with different owners.
Aug 10, 2022 · DarleneWe’re having a wonderful stay here. Owners are friendly and our site is spacious, peaceful and everyone is super friendly. We’re more RVers than campers and appreciate the full hook up. Looking forward to coming back for many years to come, we’re lucky to have found such a beautiful place!
Aug 21, 2022 · Wendy DonnellyGreat campground, great people and great owners. The campsites are spacious with spectacular views. This is a seasonal campground with no overnight campers so it has a afe, community feel.
May 03, 2024 · Scott SGreat place. Beautiful nature place to rest, relax, have fun, go hiking, meet friendly people all there for the common goal of a great get away. I know Karen through Adult Day Services and she knows how to run a fun campground for sure. So sorry Karen to hear of your storm damage but at the same time, so grateful to know that no one was hurt and no fatalities. As RN Director of a day Care I know what it is to be responsible for a place of business no matter what the circumstances. I wish you the best getting back on your feet to re-establish and recover your great campground. Great people rise to the challenge which I know you will and are more than capable of. God Bless you all. Kathy Kempf
