Larson's Resort Introduce
For local users seeking "camping near me" in the Cascade, Wisconsin area, Larson's Resort presents itself as a potential option for a relaxing getaway. Located at N2980 Ellen View Rd, this resort and campground has garnered both positive and negative feedback regarding its environment, services, and overall customer experience. By examining the available reviews, we can provide a balanced introduction to help local users make an informed decision.
The environment at Larson's Resort appears to be a significant positive aspect for many visitors. One reviewer specifically mentioned that their campsite was "very shady and nice," suggesting that the resort benefits from mature trees providing ample cover, particularly desirable during warmer months. This shady environment contributes to a comfortable and enjoyable outdoor experience, allowing campers to relax and escape the direct sun. The overall setting in Cascade, Wisconsin, likely offers a peaceful and natural backdrop for a camping or resort stay, although specific details about the surrounding landscape are not extensively described in the provided reviews.
In terms of services, Larson's Resort seems to offer more than just basic camping amenities. The positive review highlights that "the facilities were very clean," which is a crucial factor for any camper's comfort and hygiene. Clean restrooms and potentially shower facilities contribute significantly to a positive overall experience. Furthermore, a unique and appreciated service mentioned is "a lending area for books, games and videos." This thoughtful addition suggests a family-friendly atmosphere and provides entertainment options for guests during their downtime at the resort. Such amenities can enhance the overall stay, especially on rainy days or during relaxing evenings at the campsite.
The features of Larson's Resort, based on the available feedback, are somewhat mixed. The availability of shady campsites is a definite plus, catering to those who prefer cooler and more sheltered camping spots. The cleanliness of the facilities also stands out as a positive feature. The inclusion of a lending area for recreational materials indicates an effort to provide added value and entertainment for guests of all ages. This feature promotes a sense of community and provides alternatives to solely outdoor activities. However, a significant negative feature highlighted in one of the reviews is the reported "very poor customer service" and a lack of communication. This aspect raises concerns about the reliability and responsiveness of the resort staff, which can significantly impact a guest's overall experience, regardless of the quality of the physical environment and amenities.
Promotional information is not explicitly stated in the reviews, but we can infer some positive selling points based on the positive feedback. The friendliness and helpfulness of the owner, Laurie, as mentioned in one review ("Everyone, including Laurie the owner, was very friendly and helpful"), serve as a strong promotional aspect, suggesting a welcoming and accommodating atmosphere. The shady campsites and clean facilities are also implicitly promoted through positive user experiences. The lending area for books, games, and videos could be highlighted as a unique amenity that caters to families and those seeking on-site entertainment options. These positive aspects could attract local users looking for a well-maintained and friendly camping or resort experience with added recreational opportunities.
However, it is crucial to objectively address the significant negative feedback regarding customer service. One detailed review recounts a frustrating experience of attempting to book a site. The potential guest described an initial positive interaction where site availability was confirmed, followed by a complete lack of follow-up despite multiple phone calls over two days. The reviewer expressed disappointment and concern over the lack of communication, stating, "They did not have the courtesy to call me so I had to find another campground... this seems like a real hokey mom pop place. I will never ever try to go there again because if this is how little they care about customers that they can’t make a five minute phone call, then I’d hate to see what happens if something happens at the campground and you need their assistance. You could never reach them to tell them if you had a problem because they won’t return phone calls." This detailed account raises serious concerns about the reliability of the booking process and the potential for difficulties in contacting the resort for assistance during a stay. This negative feedback must be considered alongside the positive comments to provide a balanced perspective for local users.
In conclusion, for local users searching for "camping near me" in Cascade, Wisconsin, Larson's Resort offers the appeal of shady campsites, clean facilities, and unique amenities like a lending library. The friendly demeanor of the owner, as reported by one guest, also suggests a welcoming environment. These positive aspects could make it an attractive option for families and individuals seeking a comfortable and relaxing outdoor stay. However, potential visitors must also be aware of the serious concerns raised by another reviewer regarding poor customer service and a lack of communication during the booking process. This suggests potential inconsistencies in customer service that could impact the overall guest experience. Therefore, while Larson's Resort appears to offer a pleasant environment and some valuable amenities, prospective guests may want to consider the reported issues with communication when making their decision and perhaps attempt to confirm bookings and other details proactively.

Larson's Resort Reviews
We enjoyed our stay at Larson's Resort and Campground. Everyone, including Laurie the owner, was very friendly and helpful. The site we stayed at was very shady and nice, and the facilities were very clean. There was a lending area for books, games and videos, which was super nice. A very enjoyable weekend! We will come back and stay!
Jun 18, 2023 · Tim HilesI received very poor customer service. I called Larsons resort and asked if they had anything available for this coming Friday Saturday departing on Sunday. The lady was kind enough to go measure to make sure I could fit and she called me back and said that yes it’s available will fit. I told her I needed to discuss it with my wife and I will call her back. This was rather late in the evening. By the time my wife and I could discuss it it was too late to call so I called the next morning. I made a total of four calls that day, nobody got back to me. I called again the next morning and nobody got back to me. I was trying to confirm the booking and pay my deposit because the weekend was coming up quickly and I wanted to settle it and get it off my back. They did not have the courtesy to call me so I had to find another campground, which was an hour away from where we wanted to be. this seems like a real hokey mom pop place. I will never ever try to go there again because if this is how little they care about customers that they can’t make a five minute phone call, then I’d hate to see what happens if something happens at the campground and you need their assistance. You could never reach them to tell them if you had a problem because they won’t return phone calls.
Sep 20, 2023 · B. D.The wife and I had the opportunity to stay here last summer and are looking forward to returning again this summer! The camp sites are large with plenty of room for our 38ft fifth wheel and the drinks & food at the bar were wonderful. Laurie went out of her way to make our stay enjoyable!
Mar 22, 2022 · Rich FinkeWonder amazing place to be! We have a RV there...now six years. Love the lake...fishing, pontooning and a lot of rafting! Laurie, has a nice bar...play bar dice..other games. Watch a lot of sports...racing, football, etc. The pizza is fanatic! Can't go wrong at this place! Laurie, is one of the sweetest people to be around! 👍 👊 💝 😊
Oct 18, 2016 · Brandy RichterSuper quiet here. Relaxing and great access to the lake Ellen. Has clean bathrooms and showers. Power hook ups and allows pop up campers. The bar is ran by the owner. Simple and beautiful place.
