Timber Trail Camp Ground Introduce
For local residents in the West Bend, Wisconsin area seeking "camping near me," Timber Trail Camp Ground, located at 7590 Good Luck Ln, West Bend, WI 53090, USA, is an option to consider. However, it is crucial to carefully review recent customer feedback before making any decisions, as the experiences shared paint a concerning picture of the campground environment, management, and facilities.
Based on the available reviews, the environment at Timber Trail Camp Ground is described in extremely negative terms. One reviewer went so far as to call the place "a dump!" and stated they would give it a -10 rating if possible. This strongly suggests that the overall appearance and upkeep of the campground may be severely lacking. The reviewer specifically mentions issues with noise, alleging that the owner parties late into the night, yelling and swearing until 3 in the morning while seemingly intoxicated. Such behavior would undoubtedly create a disruptive and unpleasant environment for other campers seeking peace and quiet.
Another significant environmental concern raised is the presence of "snarely dogs" belonging to the owner that are reportedly "never leashed." Unleashed and potentially aggressive dogs can pose a safety risk and create anxiety for other campers, especially those with children or pets, or those who are simply uncomfortable around unrestrained animals. This lack of adherence to leash rules indicates a potential disregard for the comfort and safety of guests.
The services and facilities at Timber Trail Camp Ground also receive harsh criticism. The showers and changing area are described as "disgusting!" This is a serious concern, as clean and sanitary restroom facilities are a fundamental expectation for any campground. Such a strong negative assessment suggests that these essential amenities may be poorly maintained and unhygienic, significantly impacting the overall camping experience.
In terms of management and customer service, the reviews paint a picture of unfriendliness and a lack of professionalism. The first reviewer explicitly states that the owner is "Not friendly whats so ever," further contributing to a negative atmosphere. Their regret at wasting a week at the campground underscores the severity of their dissatisfaction.
The second review details a particularly negative interaction when the potential guests were seeking temporary RV sites due to being suddenly homeless after a fire. Despite contacting the campsite about seasonal rates and not receiving a response, they drove to the location to speak with someone in person. They report being "yelled at and told to leave at the gate because they weren’t open yet." This behavior is described as "incredibly unwarranted, unexpected, and rude," especially considering the difficult circumstances of the individuals seeking accommodation. This interaction suggests a complete lack of empathy and poor communication from the management.
The reviewer who was yelled at at the gate also expressed feeling "a bit stunned" by the experience but concluded that it "probably saved us from wasting any time or energy pursuing this place." This suggests that the initial rude encounter was a strong deterrent, implying that the overall environment and management style may be consistently unwelcoming.
Based on these two very negative and recent reviews, there is no indication of any positive features or promotional information for Timber Trail Camp Ground. The feedback focuses entirely on significant issues related to the owner's behavior, the lack of pet control, and the deplorable condition of the facilities, as well as unprofessional and rude management.
For local users searching for "camping near me" in West Bend, WI, it is crucial to take these recent and direct experiences into serious consideration. The strong negative sentiment and specific allegations of disruptive behavior, safety concerns regarding unleashed dogs, and unsanitary conditions should raise significant red flags. While every individual's experience can vary, the consistency and severity of the complaints suggest potential systemic issues at Timber Trail Camp Ground.
Given the overwhelmingly negative feedback, it would be prudent for local campers to explore alternative campgrounds in the West Bend area that have received more positive reviews regarding their environment, facilities, management, and overall guest experience. Relying on a platform that categorizes "camping near me" should ideally lead to options that prioritize a safe, clean, and enjoyable stay for their patrons.
In conclusion, while Timber Trail Camp Ground in West Bend, WI, is a local option for "camping near me," the recent customer reviews are extremely concerning. They describe a disruptive environment due to a noisy owner, safety issues with unleashed dogs, disgustingly dirty facilities, and unfriendly, even rude, management. There is no positive feedback or promotional information available. Local users are strongly advised to exercise extreme caution and carefully consider these experiences before choosing to stay at Timber Trail Camp Ground. It would be wise to seek alternative camping options in the area that offer a more positive and reliable experience.

Timber Trail Camp Ground Reviews
What a dump! If I could give this place a -10 I would. Owner parties way into 3 in the morning yelling and swearing. All looped up. Their snarely dogs are never leashed. Showers and changing area are disgusting! There is NO WAY we would EVER stay here again. Not friendly whats so ever. We are so sorry we wasted a week there. Never again.
Jul 28, 2024 · Richard BreitkreutzWe are suddenly homeless due to fire so looking for RV sites for temporary living. Contacted campsite about seasonal rates and didn’t hear back. My husband and I drove over today to talk to someone, and we were yelled at and told to leave at the gate because they weren’t open yet. Incredibly unwarranted, unexpected, and rude. Feeling a bit stunned but probably saved us from wasting any time or energy pursuing this place.
Apr 16, 2024 · Rachel BensonTruly the worst booking experience ever. A friend and I tried to book and the man we spoke with was incredibly rude. We never received any kind of confirmation and our cards were never charged so we just assumed that we didn’t have a spot. 3-4 weeks later we got charged but it was just hours before we were supposed to arrive and had already booked another campsite elsewhere. I called to cancel and Brent, who I spoke with while cancelling, was so rude and disrespectful. He wouldn’t even give me his name without asking multiple times because he knew I wasn’t happy with the customer service I was receiving. Needless to say, we will never book here again. Our business has been taken elsewhere and I know we aren’t missing out by not staying here.
Jun 23, 2023 · Kelsea KarelseWe come here at least once every summer. The site we like is very quiet and secluded which is why we come back every year. However the owners are very rude. Apparently they don't have to follow their own rules about their dogs. When we were walking our dog (on a leash) she freaked out and made the assumption that our dog was mean and likely not nice, compared to her two little dogs that she did not have on a leash. We had to wait till she contained them before we could continue our walk. And then as we walked back from our long walk, she actually made fun of our dog as she stood there screaming at hers in the pool area. I personally thought this was absolutely ridiculous and may I just have to rethink coming back after we've been coming here for 5 plus years. One bad experience can speak volumes.
Jun 24, 2022 · Melissa FrankQuite ran down. The guy in the office is not friendly or helpful at all. Huge pot holes throughout, sharp curves & a small, single lane gravel road makes it difficult for large campers. Porta potties for bathrooms unless you go to the front office. The showers are outside without a roof. Our site was a group site which had multiple places for power, however most of them were not working. The guy in the office was so unfriendly we didn’t even bother to mention it to him. He makes it pretty obvious he doesn’t care. Permanent sites (which are the majority) are loud and rowdy late into the night, so beware. Overall, it’s a cheap campground so you get what you pay for I guess. But I’ve had more enjoyable experiences at state parks for the same price. Spend your money somewhere else that actually cares about their campground.
