For local residents searching within the "camping near me" category in the vicinity of Limestone, New York, Mystic Water Resort, located at 620 Parkside Dr, Limestone, NY 14753, USA, offers a unique camping cabin experience. You can reach them by phone at (716) 925-8553 or their mobile number, +1 716-925-8553, for inquiries and reservations. Based on recent customer reviews, Mystic Water Resort provides a tranquil environment with opportunities for wildlife viewing and a range of family-friendly activities, making it a potential gem for a local getaway.
The environment at Mystic Water Resort is characterized by its proximity to a lake or pond, as one reviewer mentioned enjoying the "deck...to stare out at the lake/pond." This waterfront location offers scenic views and a peaceful ambiance, ideal for relaxation. The presence of a "fire pit" suggests opportunities for evening campfires, although one visitor noted heavy rain prior to and during their stay limited its use. The resort is also situated in an area rich in wildlife. Guests have reported sightings of "a pair of bald eagles across the pond by the barn," as well as deer, "tons of geese and ducks," and even a beaver. This abundance of wildlife provides a fantastic opportunity for nature lovers and adds a unique element to the stay.
While one review mentioned hearing "roosters, cows, and possibly a donkey," this suggests that the resort might be located in or near an area with some agricultural activity, which could contribute to the overall rural charm and soundscape of the environment. However, it's worth noting for those sensitive to farm animal sounds.
In terms of the cabins themselves, one reviewer who stayed in the "ski lodge" during the off-peak season (early April) described the interior as "very nice." The cabin was equipped with essential appliances, including a "fridge, electric stove, microwave, coffee pot, and toaster," offering convenience for preparing meals. The presence of "plenty of box fans" suggests that the cabins are equipped to handle warmer weather, although the reviewer did express a wish for an indoor fireplace and warmer temperatures during their early spring visit.
The size of the "ski lodge" cabin appeared adequate for a couple, with the "main room" being "more than enough." However, the reviewer noted that both they and their wife were "not fans of the bed," which is a crucial point for potential guests to consider inquiring about when booking. The "deck" was highlighted as a wonderful feature for enjoying the lakeside views.
Mystic Water Resort seems to cater well to families. The presence of a "playground area" was noted, with local neighborhood children also using it, indicating it's a community-friendly space. One reviewer mentioned that the children were "respectful and kept the playtime to that playground." Furthermore, the resort boasts a "mini golf course" that was enjoyed by a wide age range, from adults down to a 3-year-old. The discovery of "baby foxes living amongst the rocks" added an extra element of excitement for the guests. The availability of a "driving range" with "shorter clubs" even allowed children to participate, showcasing the resort's inclusivity for families with young kids.
Regarding services, the owner was described as "very quick to respond with any of our questions," indicating good communication and customer service. Firewood was available for purchase at a "great price," which is a convenient service for those wanting to enjoy the fire pit. While not explicitly a service provided by the resort, the review also mentions a nearby "back road to thunder rocks at alleghany," suggesting potential access to local attractions, although a cautionary note was given about its seasonal nature and suitability only for certain types of vehicles (like a Jeep, not a Ford Focus).
Promotional information is not explicitly mentioned in the reviews. However, the positive experiences shared, particularly regarding the family-friendly activities and the peaceful environment, serve as implicit endorsements. Local users interested in potential off-peak season discounts or group rates for parties (as mentioned by one reviewer who recommended the place for such events) should contact Mystic Water Resort directly.
In summary, Mystic Water Resort in Limestone, NY, offers a compelling option for local users seeking a "camping near me" experience with a camping cabin. The resort boasts a picturesque lakeside environment with opportunities for wildlife viewing, comfortable cabins equipped with basic amenities (as experienced in the Ski Lodge), and a range of family-friendly activities including mini golf and a playground. While one reviewer noted an issue with the bed in their cabin, the overall feedback highlights the responsive owner and the enjoyable experiences, particularly for families. Local residents looking for a tranquil retreat with recreational activities should consider Mystic Water Resort and contact them directly for more information on cabin availability, pricing, and any current promotions.

Mystic Water Resort Reviews
My wife and I decided to stay for an extended weekend at off-peak season time. (Early april) we had the entire place to ourselves as no one else was elrenting the other cabin( we stayed in ski lodge). The owner was very quick to respond with any of our questions. The cabin was very nice inside the fridge, electric stove, microwave, coffee pot, and toaster were all on site as well as plenty of box fans. This trip was just my wife and I, so the main room was more than enough. My wife and i were both, however, not fans of the bed. The deck was wonderful to use to stare out at the lake/pond the fire pit was nice however we had alot of rain the week prior to usem being there and we seen about an inch and a half while we were there. I was able to, however, get a fire going with the wood that was for sale there a great price. No bears on out visit be we did however see a pair of bald eagles across the pond by the barn a few deer, tons of geese and ducks and even a BEAVER swam up from the creek and swam about 2 feet away on his hunt for snacks. It seemed the neighborhood kids came and used the playground area, but we're respectful and kept the playtime to that playground. We heard roosters, cows, and possibly a donkey. The road in is a back road to thunder rocks at alleghany, but I will advise it's a seasonal road. I have traveled it many times in my jeep, but don't go taking a Ford focus up that way!To me, even with it being very rainy, we had a great stay in the ski lodge (just missing an indoor fireplace and warm weather)
Apr 13, 2025 · Shaun KeenanFun for the whole family. We played the mini golf course with adults all the way down to a 3 yr old. We were able to spot some baby foxes living amongst the rocks, which made everyone even happier. We moved on to the playground, and the kids had a blast trying to clear the slides of sand and building in the sand. After that was the driving range, and due to shorter clubs, the kids were even able to play. All in all, we had a great time and recommended this place for parties or just an evening out.
Jun 16, 2023 · Erick ScottI have visited this business several times over the past 20 years. Some of the things my family members have done is rent Cabins, host family reunions and play miniature golf on a course that is of nature’s beauty. Some of the family members use the golf driving range-driving balls out over and into a lake.We have noticed a several weddings being held that use the natural beauty of the landscape to accent their eventThe owners are always present on site and are some of the kindness people you will ever meet.I think this place is of Great value for families and so much fun. We travel from Florida to take advantage of this local secretI think this place is of Great value for families and so much fun
Aug 02, 2023 · Ed GowanThis place is awesome. My daughter and I have been going there for the 18 hole putt-putt golf course on Father's Day for years. We absolutely love it. We also go a couple other times a year. Wonderful place.
Jul 17, 2023 · Michael MillerThe resort was clean and beautiful. It is not cheap but, you can tell they've invested a lot of money, time and energy into making the grounds beautiful. There is a huge playground area with sand, bathroom, huge seating area, an indoor area with kitchen things, and then a big grill thing. We had to pay extra for the mini golf. The mountains and the whole area is so scenic.
