For local users in the United States seeking a "camping near me" experience with a focus on beach proximity and convenience, Ne're Beach Family Campground, located at 38 Saco Ave, Old Orchard Beach, ME 04064, USA, presents a noteworthy option. Situated in the popular coastal town of Old Orchard Beach, Maine, this campground appears to prioritize accessibility to the beach and offers a family-friendly atmosphere, as suggested by its name. The customer reviews provide insights into the staff, facilities, and overall experience, painting a picture of a campground that values practicality and a welcoming environment.
The environment surrounding Ne're Beach Family Campground is inherently tied to its location in Old Orchard Beach. This coastal town is known for its long sandy beach, amusement park pier, and lively summer atmosphere. Being situated on Saco Avenue suggests that the campground is likely within close proximity to these attractions, offering easy access to the beach and the various entertainment options available in the area. While the campground itself might not be a sprawling natural retreat, its prime location provides the benefit of a beachside environment and the convenience of being near local amenities. The fact that a convenience store is within walking distance, as mentioned in one review, further underscores this advantageous location for campers who may need to pick up supplies or want easy access to snacks and other necessities.
In terms of services, the customer reviews highlight several positive aspects. The staff is described as "friendly" by one reviewer, which is a crucial element in creating a welcoming and enjoyable camping experience. Another review mentions the manager, Miss Peggie, providing a hassle-free refund, indicating good customer service and a willingness to be accommodating. The cleanliness of the restrooms is also specifically noted as a positive attribute ("restrooms were clean"), which is an important factor for the comfort and satisfaction of campers. The fact that "everything worked" suggests that basic utilities and facilities within the campground were functional during at least one guest's stay. While one review mentions that "the campsite needs some work," this seems to be an area for potential improvement rather than a complete lack of service. The availability of a small spot for "car camping" on short notice indicates a degree of flexibility and willingness to accommodate different types of campers, even those with specific needs like parking close to the beach.
The features of Ne're Beach Family Campground appear to be centered around practicality and convenience. Its proximity to the beach is a primary feature, allowing guests easy access to the shoreline for swimming, sunbathing, and other beach activities. The walking distance to a convenience store adds another layer of convenience for campers. The mention of needing a place to park a car close to the beach for car camping suggests that the campground can accommodate this type of setup, which might be attractive to those who prefer to sleep in their vehicles or have limited camping equipment. While one review notes that the "campsite needs some work," the overall impression is that the campground provides the essential features for a comfortable stay, such as clean restrooms and functional utilities. The unusual mention of feeling "very inspired by the yellow fluorescent lighting of the office" is an interesting, albeit subjective, observation and doesn't necessarily reflect a key feature of the campground itself but rather a memorable detail for one guest.
Currently, there is no explicit promotional information provided for Ne're Beach Family Campground. However, the positive aspects highlighted in the reviews can be seen as implicit promotions. The friendly staff, clean restrooms, and convenient location near the beach and a store are all attractive selling points for potential campers searching for "camping near me" in Old Orchard Beach. The willingness of the management to provide refunds without issue suggests a customer-oriented approach, which can also encourage bookings. While the need for some campsite improvements is mentioned, the overall positive feedback on staff and basic facilities indicates a generally satisfactory experience for many guests.
For local users specifically looking for a family-friendly campground in Old Orchard Beach with easy beach access and nearby conveniences, Ne're Beach Family Campground seems to be a viable option. The positive remarks about the staff and the cleanliness of the restrooms are reassuring. The ability to find a spot for car camping on short notice also suggests a degree of flexibility that might be appealing to some travelers. However, the comment about the campsite needing work indicates that potential guests should perhaps have reasonable expectations regarding the aesthetics and condition of the individual camping spots.

Ne're Beach Family Campground Reviews

May 02, 2025 · Roland DonahueNeeded a place to park my car close to the beach for car camping. This campground had a small spot available with a few days notice.I paid cash for 2 days but then decided to leave early and the manager Miss Peggie refunded me with no issue at all.I felt very inspired by the yellow fluorescent lighting of the office so I took a picture.
Jul 05, 2024 · Alexa VLPeggy is such an amazing manager. The campground has a perfect location, right beside old orchard beach. Plus they have free showers! This is a gem when you want to put your tent close to the beach, without having to pay for a hotel. Keep in mind that this campground is more « downtown » so there not a lot of woods around, although the big trees around help to keep the tent cool at night. It was a perfect spot to enjoy fair on old orchard beach! I will book again for sure
Aug 31, 2022 · S. P.85 $ + tax/night for a tent site? The tent section is a 3000 to 4000 square foot fenced area of the campground. The tent sites have no water or electricity. The rest of the campground is occupied by long term RV campers. The bathroom is about 50 yards away and has a historic feel to it to say the least. $85/night for a tent is by far the highest price I have seen in Maine. Considering the general "comfort" level, it is absolutely overpriced. We only spent one night there, and only because we arrived late. $40 would be reasonable at max.
Jul 29, 2023 · Frank SinatraGood for what it is.... very great location walkable to the pier and shops/bars, but don’t expect much else. No cable, poor WiFi, bathrooms were pretty gross and they were working on showers so gals could hear guys talking in the bathhouse and guys had to deal w workers. No one there when we checked in so we found them the next day to square up, guy working gave good advice on where to go and what to see. Nice folks walking around and we felt safe. They have quiet hours which was also nice. Overall good three night stop and happy to find somewhere close to the beach.
