Pinehirst Campground Introduce
If you're searching for "camping near me" in the Old Orchard Beach, Maine area, Pinehirst Campground, located at 7 Oregon Ave, Old Orchard Beach, ME 04064, is one option to consider. They can be reached at (207) 934-5526 or +1 207-934-5526. However, it's important to note that recent customer reviews provide a critical perspective on this campground.
Environment: Described as Old and in Need of Maintenance
Based on customer feedback, the environment of Pinehirst Campground is described as "dirty, old, and in need of a ton of maintenance." One reviewer highlighted issues with the infrastructure, stating that "the pavement and speed bumps are a nightmare; cracked and pot holes throughout." This suggests that the physical condition of the campground's roads and pathways may be poor, potentially affecting the ease of moving around the site.
The condition of the individual campsites also received negative feedback. One seasonal camper reported that their site "had not been prepped or cleaned after the previous people had left," even though the booking was made a month in advance. The site was described as being mostly dirt with weeds growing where gravel was sparse, and the camper mentioned finding "huge decking screws" around their site for months. Furthermore, the review noted significant drainage issues, with the site becoming "completely flooded" after the first rainfall, making it difficult to move around the campsite without stepping into standing water.
These descriptions paint a picture of a campground where the environment may not be well-maintained, which could detract from the overall camping experience for visitors.
Services and Amenities: Concerns Regarding Accuracy and Functionality
Customer reviews raise concerns about the services and amenities offered at Pinehirst Campground. One reviewer explicitly stated, "** also do not believe any of the amenities listed in the website." They claimed that "There is always a pool that has closed / being fixed and the gym is closed and we were told they have no current plans of having it re-open!" This suggests a significant discrepancy between what might be advertised and the actual availability of amenities, which could be disappointing for guests who choose the campground based on these features.
Beyond the recreational amenities, there were also complaints about essential services. One review mentioned that "Power and water go out all the time," indicating potential reliability issues with these basic utilities. Additionally, the internet service was described as "horrific," which could be a significant drawback for campers who need to stay connected.
The customer service also received negative remarks, with one reviewer stating that it is "non-existent" and another encountering "very rude" front desk staff. The incident where management allegedly said they would have prepared the site if they knew the seasonal camper was arriving that day, despite a month-long prior booking, further illustrates potential issues with management and communication.
The refusal of the campground to assist with the flooding on a seasonal site, stating it was the camper's responsibility and that more stones were not in their budget, also points to a lack of support for campers facing site-related issues.
Features: Limited Positives Based on Reviews
Based on the provided reviews, it is challenging to identify positive features of Pinehirst Campground. The recurring themes in the feedback are related to the poor condition of the sites and infrastructure, unreliable amenities, and unsatisfactory customer service. While the campground is located in Old Orchard Beach, which is a popular tourist destination with its own attractions, the reviews suggest that the campground itself may not be a highlight.
The potential proximity to Old Orchard Beach and its offerings (like the beach, pier, and amusement park) could be seen as a feature of the location, but the reviews strongly advise considering other campgrounds in the area over Pinehirst. One reviewer explicitly recommended, "Do yourself a favor and choose ANY of the other parks in the area." This suggests that any inherent locational advantages might be overshadowed by the negative aspects of the campground itself.
It's important for potential campers to weigh these negative reviews heavily when considering Pinehirst Campground for their "camping near me" needs in Old Orchard Beach.
Promotional Information: A Word of Caution Based on Feedback
While Pinehirst Campground might present itself as a convenient option for "camping near me" in Old Orchard Beach, recent customer experiences suggest caution. Reviews indicate that the campground may suffer from poorly maintained sites, unreliable amenities (including a frequently closed pool and a closed gym with no reopening plans), and issues with basic utilities like power and water. Additionally, customer service has been described as lacking.
If you are looking for a well-maintained and service-oriented camping experience in the Old Orchard Beach area, it would be prudent to explore other campgrounds. The feedback received about Pinehirst Campground points to potential disappointments regarding site conditions, amenity availability, and overall management. Campers seeking a pleasant and hassle-free stay might find better options elsewhere in the vicinity.
Given the strong negative recommendations from past guests, it would be advisable to thoroughly research and consider alternative campgrounds in Old Orchard Beach to ensure a more positive and enjoyable camping experience. While Pinehirst Campground is located at 7 Oregon Ave and can be contacted at (207) 934-5526, the current feedback suggests that potential visitors should proceed with significant caution and perhaps look at other options for their "camping near me" needs.

Pinehirst Campground Reviews
Would not recommend this campground. Sites are dirty, old, and need a ton of maintenance. The pavement and speed bumps are a nightmare; cracked and pot holes throughout. When we got to our site, it had not been prepped or cleaned after the previous people had left. We had booked the site a month beforehand with plenty of time for the site to be cleaned and when we showed up management simply said “we would have had it ready had we known you were coming today”. Keep in mind we booked a seasonal spot and came weeks AFTER they opened to park our camper. When we got to our site, the spot where a camper used to be was all dirt, weeds were growing out from the few spots gravel was remaining, and we were finding huge decking screws for months all around our site. After the first rainfall when we got there, our site was completely flooded. We couldn’t step out of our camper without our feet being completely submerged in water. We made management aware and the campground refused to add stones / assist with flooding because it was our responsibility now that it was “our site”. The campground stated more stones were not in their budget and we would have to pay for the stone out of pocket. We came in contact with a few of the front desk staff who were very rude as well.** also do not believe any of the amenities listed in the website. There is always a pool that has closed / being fixed and the gym is closed and we were told they have no current plans of having it re-open! Anywhere else in OOB is better than this place
Mar 29, 2025 · Tj JagnjicJust a poorly run place.Customer service is non-existent.Park is run down.Power and water go out all the time.Internet is horrific.Do yourself a favor and choose ANY of the other parks in the area.
Mar 31, 2025 · Michael CasaliGreat pools and fairly close to the beach but there seems to be no speed enforcement or rules. Feared for my kids lives. Speed limit says 7 and you’re lucky if people were going 15. In fact, they were rude as can be when we were upset about the speeds going by our camper. I’m a seasonal at a campground in NY and I can’t even imagine driving the way these people do. Store was lame. Barely open and didn’t have many amenities. Loved the lobsters right outside the campground. Came on Thousand Trails. Would never pay money to actually come here.
