Neal’s Cove Campground Reviews
Perfect place to stay if you enjoy the water and hiking. This place is absolutely stunning. The fire tower hike is not the easy hike as portrayed. There is a lot of climbing needed to reach the tower, however, that could have just been the entrance we used. Full cellular service is the reward when you get to the top of the tower.

Jul 26, 2019 · Matt ConnorIt’s a beautiful, large park, I imagine people enjoy hiking there. We did go camping though, had a reservation for two nights, but ended up leaving after only one (early September). We were very confused when we arrived, it was the first time for us in a state park in the USA.The reception was closed when we arrived (at 5:10 PM), so we headed to our pitch. When we arrived, there was someone parked with their equipment installed (it seems possible to take land, since there is not really surveillance). Finally this person was about to leave. Then, we try to buy a bag of wood to make a fire, the shop is closed. With the map on our phone, we head towards the toilets, they are closed and it is indicated that they are not for people from the campsite (group only). We didn't really understand. After asking other campers, they directed us to the location of the camper toilet. Which was not indicated on the online map (they had a paper map) and the location was different. There were lots of noises from wildlife during the night. There were several sounds of coolers being emptied or falling during the night. For our part, the food and cosmetic products were in the car, but I still heard animals passing close to our tent on a few occasions. It's hard to say what animal it was.I didn't dare go to the bathroom until 7 AM when it was light. Obviously, it’s camping and wildlife is present, but it’s not necessarily like that at all campsites. The people next to us left at 4:50 AM.Generally speaking, there is a lack of information signs on the ground.Toilet nearby, but does not seem to be indicated by a sign. For the shower, there only seemed to be one within a 20 minute walk from our location. We searched on foot for a while, the signs on the ground were missing. There was a charge for showers. It's really rare that I give bad reviews to places, we are still confused about our experience at this place.Regarding our campsite, it was in the Neals Cove section. The terrain is made up of rocks, so maybe difficult to insert tent stakes. Fairly large plot (222) and beautiful view! The toilet is old, but it was clean enough. Possibility of doing certain activities, such as kayaking, but I'm not sure if it was open at the time we were there. We didn't see any employees while we were there, maybe it was the time of season too (after Labor Day).
