Wadleigh Falls Campground Introduce
If you're a local user in the Lee, New Hampshire area searching for "camping near me," Wadleigh Falls Campground, located at 16 Campground Rd, Lee, NH 03861, has received some recent feedback that potential visitors should be aware of. You can contact the campground at (603) 659-1751 or their mobile number, +1 603-659-1751, for further inquiries. However, based on the recent reviews, there appear to be significant concerns regarding the upkeep and management of the campground.
One reviewer expressed disappointment, stating they "wanted to love this place but unfortunately I don’t feel like it is kept up." They highlighted several issues, including a function hall damaged by a storm that had not been repaired but was still open, with signs and an odor of mold. This raises concerns about the safety and maintenance of the facilities. The reviewer also noted that the store was "lacking supplies needed" and reported receiving "dirty looks and aggression from the staff," which points to potential issues with customer service.
A significant complaint was the cleanliness of the bathroom and shower facilities, which the reviewer described as "absolutely filthy," stating they had never seen anyone cleaning them. This is a major concern for the comfort and hygiene of campers. While the campground attempts to ensure safety by enforcing a speed limit, the reviewer noted poor execution, recounting an incident where an employee and fellow campers used foul language and ran into the road while adhering to the limit, deeming it "completely unnecessary and unprofessional."
Furthermore, this reviewer mentioned a lack of activities within the campground and an opinion that the river was not clean. For those considering a seasonal camper spot, they advised looking at other facilities due to a lack of land and tree maintenance, with reports of campers experiencing damage to their RVs from falling trees. The reviewer concluded by expressing sadness, feeling the place had potential but that the management/owner did not seem to take pride in it.
Another recent review echoed a poor experience. This camper and their husband had reserved a waterfront site (tr1) based on the expectation of having waterfront access and a good camping spot, influenced by an advertisement showing a beach. However, upon arrival, they found the "beach" needed maintenance with no immediate plans for repair. The actual beach area looked nothing like the photos, lacking sand and being overgrown with vegetation, with only a small, unsuitable area to enter the water.
When the campers inquired about nearby swimming areas suitable for their four-year-old and three-month-old, the front desk staff reportedly were unsure because they were not from the area. This lack of local knowledge from the staff is concerning. The cleanliness of the bathrooms was also criticized in this review, described as smelling like "stale urine as if they had not been cleaned in some time," corroborating the previous reviewer's concerns.
The second reviewer also noted that campsites were not cleaned after previous occupants left, as evidenced by the fire pit on their site being half full of ash and the adjacent site not being cleaned after departure. This lack of basic site maintenance is disappointing. They expressed unhappiness with the "false advertising" regarding the beach and recommended visiting any campsite before booking. This review strongly suggests that the reality of the campground did not match the expectations set by its online presence.
Based on these two recent reviews, Wadleigh Falls Campground appears to have significant issues with maintenance, cleanliness, and potentially misleading advertising. The environment is described as lacking upkeep, with concerns about mold in the function hall and untended land leading to potential hazards like falling trees. The river is also described as not clean. Services seem to be lacking, with a poorly stocked store and unhelpful or unprofessional staff interactions reported.
Features that were expected, such as a usable beach and clean facilities, were reportedly not up to standard. The lack of organized activities was also noted. While a speed limit is enforced for safety, the execution of this policy was criticized.
Given the overwhelmingly negative nature of these recent reviews, it is challenging to identify positive aspects to highlight for local users searching for "camping near me." The feedback strongly suggests that potential campers should exercise caution and perhaps consider other options in the area.
No promotional information can be gleaned from these reviews. Instead, the recurring themes of poor maintenance, unclean facilities, and unprofessional behavior paint a concerning picture of the current state of Wadleigh Falls Campground.
For local users in the Lee, NH area looking for "camping near me," it would be prudent to weigh these recent experiences heavily when considering Wadleigh Falls Campground. The reported issues with cleanliness, maintenance, staff demeanor, and the discrepancy between advertising and reality are significant red flags. It may be wise to look at other campgrounds in the vicinity that have more positive and recent feedback.
If you do choose to consider Wadleigh Falls Campground, it would be highly advisable to visit the property beforehand, as recommended by one of the reviewers, to assess the current conditions for yourself and ensure they meet your expectations for a local camping experience.

Wadleigh Falls Campground Reviews
I wanted to love this place but unfortunately I don’t feel like it is kept up. The function hall had a storm and they haven’t fixed it, but still have it open and there is signs and oder of mold. The store is lacking supplies needed and I received dirty looks and aggression from the staff. The bathroom/showers are absolutely filthy, I’ve never seen anyone cleaning it. They try to keep it safe by enforcing a speed limit though-out the facility, unfortunately the execution is poor. While going to the speed limit, one employee and fellow campers used foul language and ran into the road. Completely unnecessary and unprofessional. Furthermore, there is not any activities on this campground and the river is not clean in my opinion. Also, if you are thinking of a place to put your camper I would suggest another facility. They do not maintain the land or trees, many owners have had damage to their camper due to a tree falling. It’s sad, I feel like this place has potential but the management/owner doesn’t seem to take pride in it.
May 21, 2024 · Heather BoothThe experience here has been poor. My husband and I reserved tr1 with the expectation that it had Waterfront as well as a good spot for camping. The advertisement for this Campground shows a beach. We have a four year old and a three month old and were eager to Camp with a beach capable of accommodating both of them. When we arrived we were looking for the beach and went to the front desk, we got a very short answer that the "beach" needed maintenance, and there was not a maintenance scheduled soon. They showed us on the map where it was located, we get down there the beach looked nothing like the photo on their Google Maps picture. There was no sand, it is all grown in, and maybe a 3ft diameter where you can walk in on top of piles of wet leaves. We went back to the front desk, and asked if they knew of any areas near us that we could bring our children swimming, that was not in the overcrowded pool with no shade and their response was they were unsure because they were not from this area. The bathrooms were not clean and smell like stale urine as if they had not been cleaned in some time. Campsite is not cleaned after people leave, we witnessed the site next to us leave and no one came to clean it, our site was not cleaned prior to us arriving as the fire pit was half full of Ash. We are not happy with the false advertising that this campsite gives. Before booking any campsite, we recommend you visiting before your trip.
Jul 03, 2017 · Amber AudetWe had a wonderful visit got f1 spot next to the river. It was so nice and quit. The other campers were super nice, love the pool and Dorren is amazing she really hooked us up. I had a blast in the pool.
Jun 26, 2022 · Michelle ThibaultThis is our 2nd trip to this campground. The first one was not to bad, we understood stuff closed with Covid. We went this summer, what we could tell was that they had nothing listed on the amentias like no pool, no mini golf, and we couldn't use the pool table. Furthermore the bathrooms were so gross. Sadly people had music going until 4AM, and quiet time was 11 PM. The management is poor, time to clean house and get new talent.
Oct 07, 2021 · Essex Holiday Fair Team SunflowersThe Wadleigh Falls Campground is OKAY. The people there are very nice (including the regulars/seasonals) and the grounds are nice. However, the campground facilities need improvement..much improvement. The showers/toilets were very outdated and "stinky". The mini golf is completely rotten...my daughters ball went through a pvc pipe that shattered when her ball went through. She also get swarmed by bees from a hive that was inside one of the props at the mini golf...she was stung 5 times. The sites are nice and spacious but wide open. There is little privacy between the sites (we could see the people 4 sites downs from us). And we also didn't realize that there is a main road across from the river. The cars driving by could see us and we could see them. We thought by camping on a river site that it would be quieter but it was not...actually quite the opposite. All in all, it was not terrible, it was okay. Would be go back...probably not because we like our sites a little more private when we go camping and to also have quiet like camping should be.
