North Country Campground & RV Park Introduce
For local residents searching for "camping near me" in the Willow River, Minnesota area, it's essential to gather comprehensive and unbiased information to make an informed decision. North Country Campground & RV Park, located at 31150 Countryside Ln, Willow River, MN 55795, has received concerning feedback from recent customers that potential visitors should carefully consider.
Based on the available reviews, the environment of North Country Campground & RV Park is described as offering "absolutely nothing but spaces on a busy dirt road." This suggests that the natural setting may lack the scenic beauty or tranquil atmosphere often sought in a camping experience. The mention of a "busy dirt road" could imply potential noise and dust issues, detracting from the peace and quiet typically associated with camping. Unlike campgrounds nestled in forests or by lakes, this description paints a picture of a more utilitarian setting focused primarily on providing parking spaces rather than an immersive natural environment.
The services and amenities at North Country Campground & RV Park are a significant point of concern based on the customer feedback. One reviewer explicitly states that the campground "offers absolutely nothing but spaces on a busy dirt road," implying a lack of typical campground amenities. Furthermore, there are serious allegations regarding the management's failure to provide basic necessities such as toilet paper and hand soap in the bathrooms, requiring guests to bring their own. This suggests a lack of attention to basic hygiene and guest comfort. The reviews also mention issues with deposit handling, with accusations that the owners "will come up with anything and everything to take your deposit." This raises red flags about the financial practices and transparency of the campground management. Additionally, there are complaints about the enforcement of rules, with one reviewer noting inconsistent information regarding guests being allowed and negative interactions with the owners when using the facilities.
The features of a campground often include aspects that enhance the camping experience, such as recreational facilities, pet-friendly policies, and a welcoming atmosphere. However, the reviews for North Country Campground & RV Park paint a starkly different picture. One reviewer mentioned that "the ad says no dogs," which contradicts another reviewer's experience with a "not trained dog that barks all night long" belonging to another guest. This inconsistency and the alleged lack of enforcement of stated rules are concerning. The overwhelmingly negative feedback focuses on the behavior and policies of the owners, who are described as "very rude," "awful, dishonest people," and lacking "kindness in their hearts." Allegations of changing stories, yelling at guests, and hostile behavior create a picture of a potentially unpleasant and stressful camping environment. The alleged incident of the owners wanting to rent out a guest's camper without their full knowledge or consent further highlights serious trust issues.
Currently, there is no positive information or any indication of promotional offers for North Country Campground & RV Park based on the provided reviews. The strong negative sentiment expressed by multiple reviewers serves as a significant warning. Potential local users searching for "camping near me" should be aware of the serious allegations and negative experiences reported by previous guests. Given the accusations of rude and dishonest behavior, inconsistent policies, and a lack of basic amenities, it would be prudent to exercise extreme caution and consider alternative camping options in the Willow River area.
The negative reviews consistently point to severe issues with the campground owners and their management practices. Allegations of rudeness, dishonesty, unfair deposit handling, and a lack of basic amenities paint a concerning picture for prospective campers. The discrepancy regarding the pet policy and the alleged allowance of a disruptive dog further indicate a lack of consistent and enforced rules. The overall sentiment suggests a hostile and unwelcoming environment where guests may face mistreatment and financial risks related to deposits and refunds.
One reviewer explicitly advises against staying at North Country Campground & RV Park unless one is "willing to put up with this nasty behavior," and another states they had to leave despite having prepaid for several months and are now in court with the owners over a refused refund. These are serious accusations that should not be taken lightly by anyone considering this campground for their local camping needs. The lack of positive feedback and the consistency of the negative comments across multiple reviews strongly suggest significant problems with the management and the overall guest experience.
In conclusion, while North Country Campground & RV Park is located in Willow River, MN, and might appear as an option when searching for "camping near me," the overwhelmingly negative feedback from recent customers presents serious concerns. Potential local users should be aware of the allegations of rude and dishonest owners, inconsistent policies, poor amenities, and a potentially unpleasant environment. Given the severity of the issues raised, it is strongly recommended that local campers thoroughly investigate alternative campgrounds in the area before considering a stay at North Country Campground & RV Park. The lack of any positive reviews or promotional information further underscores the need for caution and the potential benefits of choosing a different camping destination for a more enjoyable and stress-free outdoor experience.

North Country Campground & RV Park Reviews
Owners are very rude, they change up their stories all the time, will tell u one thing than the other when they in the wrong, will come up with anything and everything to take your deposit, they will yell at you when using the facility, there was a rude other guest with a not trained dog that barks all night long that complains at 745 pm at night not even 11pm when the campground says it closes at on google. I wouldn’t recommend coming here unless you’re willing to put up with this nasty behavior. Poor owners. Never refill the toilet paper in the bathroom or hand soap again that is for everyone to use. Have to bring your own. Also you’re not allowed to have guests either supposedly even tho they said it was okay. All I’m saying is don’t come here if you are a normal citizen and have a personality cuz these people don’t and no kindness in their hearts. In my opinion. Oh and the ad says no dogs 😂
Oct 29, 2024 · Andrea MillerThe owners of this campground are awful, dishonest people. They wanted to rent my camper when I wasnt there which was fine but then wouldnt tell me the identity of the renters. When I arrived for my two months they were rude and hostile to me and my guests to the point the altho I had paid for several months ahead I had to leave. They refused my request for refund and I am now in court with them. The campground offers absolutely nothing but spaces on a busy dirt road. They have no real business and I can understand why.
Oct 12, 2024 · Sharon DavernRented a camper from Gwen and Terry. Had a wonderful family time. Very clean camper and hosts were very accommodating! Will definitely recommend this place to others.
Jul 05, 2024 · Joni SalazarI was excited but upon arrival saw that the campground was in fact someone’s front yard. Not much to do. The owners were nice and offered for us to come over to the other side of the back yard as they were having some friends over. This place imo was pretty expensive. ($~200 for the two nights.) l didn’t have a problem with that but was led to believe by the internet that there would be something there worth the cost….nope. I’ll camp in my own front yard next time and be $200 richer.
Jul 02, 2023 · Amanda Oliver-HoytWe rented an ATV from north country campground and had a really good time at General cc forest and soo pits. After a small misunderstanding on the bill a compromise was made. I would recommend this business to friends and family.
