Ojibwa Marina Introduce
Welcome to Ojibwa Marina Campground, a scenic camping destination located at 200 Light House Rd in Baraga, Michigan. For local users searching for "camping near me," Ojibwa Marina offers a unique experience with its beautiful bay front setting and convenient setup for various outdoor activities, particularly fishing. Let's delve into what this campground has to offer based on available information.
The Environment: Beautiful Bay Front Setting
Ojibwa Marina Campground boasts a picturesque bay front location. This provides campers with stunning views and direct access to the waterfront, creating a tranquil and scenic backdrop for your camping experience. Imagine waking up to the gentle sounds of the water and enjoying the beauty of the bay right from your campsite. The natural environment here is a significant draw, offering a refreshing escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. One reviewer specifically mentioned the "Beautiful bay front for camping," highlighting this as a key positive aspect of the location.
While the bay front is a major highlight, one review noted the presence of "Weeds along waterfront out of control and obstruct view." This suggests that while the location is beautiful, the natural vegetation along the water's edge might impact the unobstructed enjoyment of the view. However, the overall appeal of camping by the bay remains a significant advantage for those seeking a waterfront "camping near me" experience.
The campground's setup is described as "nicely for fishing" by one visitor. This implies that the layout and proximity to the water are conducive to angling activities, making it an attractive option for fishing enthusiasts looking for "camping near me" with good fishing access.
Services and Amenities: Basic Yet Functional
Based on customer reviews, the services and amenities at Ojibwa Marina Campground are somewhat basic. It's important for potential visitors to be aware of these to plan accordingly. The campground offers "simply electric hookups" at the sites. This is a valuable amenity for those needing power for their RVs or other devices. However, it's noted that there are "No shower facilities or water/dump hookups on sites." Campers should be prepared for this by either utilizing facilities within their own camping units or understanding the available alternatives.
For waste disposal, there is a "black/gray water dump as you leave," which is convenient for RV users. Additionally, "port-a-pottys" are available "all around" the campground, serving as the primary restroom facilities. While not traditional restrooms with running water, these provide a necessary amenity for campers.
For families, there is a "Decent playground for kids," which can be a significant plus for those camping with children, offering a space for them to play and burn off energy.
The registration process is described as "1st come basis with self-registration a bit confusing." According to a reviewer, signs initially "lead the way to the marina dock" before the envelopes for registration are found. Potential campers should be prepared for a self-registration process that might require a bit of searching upon arrival.
Regarding securing a campsite if leaving temporarily, one reviewer noted the absence of a clipboard for registration saving, and they had to resort to taping their registration to save their space. This suggests a more informal system for site management.
Despite the basic amenities, the $25 per night rate was considered "fair" by one reviewer, suggesting a reasonable value for the location and available services.

Features of Ojibwa Marina Campground: Fishing Focus and Lighthouse
A primary feature of Ojibwa Marina Campground, as highlighted by a customer, is that "The campground is setup nicely for fishing." The large and "pretty clean" sites seem to accommodate fishing-oriented campers well. The bay front location naturally supports fishing activities, making it a great choice for anglers looking for "camping near me."
Another notable feature is a "cool lighthouse" located at the marina. This adds a unique visual element and a point of interest for campers to explore during their stay.
While one reviewer mentioned music from a neighboring campsite being disruptive at night, this seems to be an isolated incident and not necessarily a feature of the campground itself. However, it's a reminder that noise levels can sometimes vary in any campground setting.
The "big" campsites are also worth noting as a positive feature, offering more space for campers to spread out and organize their gear.

Ojibwa Marina Reviews
We went there for an annual fishing trip with friends. The campground is setup nicely for fishing. The sites are big, and pretty clean. Unfortunately, the campsite next to ours played music every night all 4 nights until 3:00AM. Otherwise it was a nice place to go. I will be going back there.
Aug 06, 2024 · Kevin NelezenBeautiful bay front for camping. Weeds along waterfront out of control and obstruct view. A bit of car noise in the far distance. No shower facilities or water/dump hookups on sites, simply electric hookups. There is a black/gray water dump as you leave with port-a-pottys all around. Decent playground for kids, cool lighthouse. 1st come basis with self-registration a bit confusing and signs lead the way to the marina dock where we looked around and finally found the envelopes and registered. Wanted to explore town (in our truck camper) Saturday which means leaving our site empty, but no clipboard to attach our registration saving our space so we taped it up. Aside from that the $25 a night rate is fair...it's a nice place to visit.

Aug 25, 2021 · Robin HultmanNice open camping area with the evening food truck, lighthouse, playground for the kids, and swimming area!
Aug 22, 2024 · Lonnie LanttoLove it!! Perfect for the kiddos, gorgeous lake views & layed back camping. Close to town to get most supplies. 2 things that would make this better. Full service hook-up & benches by the kids play area & day beach.
