Orlando / Kissimmee KOA Holiday Introduce
For local residents and tourists searching for "camping near me" in the heart of Central Florida, specifically near the world-renowned attractions of Orlando and Kissimmee, the Orlando / Kissimmee KOA Holiday, located at 2644 Happy Camper Pl, Kissimmee, FL 34746, USA, offers a campground with positive remarks regarding its staff, cleanliness, and amenities. You can contact them directly at (407) 396-2400 or +1 407-396-2400 for reservations and inquiries. Based on customer reviews, while the KOA boasts several appealing features, it's crucial for potential visitors to be aware of significant security concerns raised by recent stays.
The environment of the Orlando / Kissimmee KOA Holiday is described as "cute little camp area" that is "neat and clean" and "very well kept." One reviewer specifically mentioned being shown to a "really nice and roomy site with concrete pad, table with chairs, and fire pit," indicating well-appointed campsites. The presence of mature landscaping, typical of many KOA Holiday locations, likely contributes to a pleasant and comfortable camping environment. The convenience of its location, being "close to everything you need," makes it an attractive base for exploring the numerous attractions, dining, and shopping options in the Orlando and Kissimmee areas.
In terms of services and amenities, the Orlando / Kissimmee KOA Holiday appears to offer a range of conveniences for its guests. The "great" office and maintenance staff are commended for their service. A particularly appreciated service is the "trash pickup at your site," adding to the ease and cleanliness of the camping experience. The availability of clean facilities is also highlighted in the reviews. While specific amenities beyond the campsite features, trash pickup, and clean facilities are not detailed in these reviews, KOA Holiday campgrounds typically offer a variety of services such as laundry facilities, restrooms with showers, Wi-Fi access, and potentially recreational areas like a pool or playground. Local users should inquire directly about the full list of amenities available during their stay.
One of the notable features mentioned is the quality of the campsites themselves, with concrete pads, picnic tables with chairs, and fire pits provided at some sites. This suggests a degree of comfort and convenience for campers, particularly those with RVs. The spaciousness of the sites is also appreciated. The positive feedback regarding the staff and the cleanliness of the park indicates a well-managed facility focused on providing a pleasant guest experience.
However, a significant and concerning feature highlighted in the reviews is the serious lack of security at the campground. Multiple reviewers reported incidents of theft, including "stolen items from at least 3 campsites," predominantly bikes that were secured with chains, including an electric bike. One reviewer recounted that the "sheriff all evening here filling out reports" and stated that the sheriff's department indicated it's a "real problem here and nothing is being done to detour thieves." This paints a concerning picture for the safety and security of guests' belongings.
The lack of security measures, such as an entrance gate, is specifically mentioned as a contributing factor. The campground is described as "all open all hours for anyone to drive or walk thru," making it easily accessible to potential thieves. The reviewers express disappointment that KOA does not seem to be taking adequate steps to address this known issue, with one stating, "I wish koa was more forthcoming about the known issue. But we found that out from sheriff dept." The KOA's stance, as reported by a reviewer, is that "it's not their problem because they posted signs stating they are not responsible," which has understandably left guests feeling unsupported and vulnerable.
The presence of "lots of homeless and transient living nearby in the woods" is also mentioned as a potential contributing factor to the security issues, although the reviewer explicitly states they are "not blaming" this population. However, the observation that "whoever came knew when to do it and came with proper tools for cutting bolts" suggests a level of premeditation and organization in the thefts. The frequent presence of the sheriff's department further underscores the severity of the security problem at this location.
Given these significant security concerns, local users searching for "camping near me" should carefully weigh the positive aspects of the Orlando / Kissimmee KOA Holiday against the reported risks. While the campground is praised for its cleanliness, staff, and certain amenities, the lack of security and the prevalence of theft are serious issues that potential guests need to consider for their safety and the security of their property. The reviewers strongly suggest opting for a safer location until adequate security measures, such as cameras and gates, are installed.
Promotional information is not provided in these reviews. Local users interested in staying at the Orlando / Kissimmee KOA Holiday should contact them directly to inquire about current rates, availability, and any security measures that may have been implemented since these reviews were posted. It would be prudent to specifically ask about their security protocols and any steps they are taking to address the reported theft issues. While KOA campgrounds often have loyalty programs or seasonal promotions, this information would need to be obtained directly from the Orlando / Kissimmee KOA Holiday.
In conclusion, the Orlando / Kissimmee KOA Holiday offers a convenient location near Orlando's attractions, with positive feedback regarding its staff, cleanliness, and well-appointed campsites. Amenities like trash pickup at the site add to the convenience. However, significant and repeated concerns about the lack of security and frequent theft from campsites are critical factors that potential guests must consider. Local users searching for "camping near me" in this area should weigh these security risks against the campground's positive attributes and inquire directly about any recent security enhancements before making a reservation. While the campground has potential due to its location and amenities, the current security situation, as reported by multiple guests, warrants serious consideration.

Orlando / Kissimmee KOA Holiday Reviews
Office and maintenance staff were great. I was shown to a really nice and roomy site with concrete pad, table with chairs, and fire pit. They have a trash pickup at your site, and the facilities were clean and the park very well kept. I had a neighbor that allowed their dog to continually bark until I asked them to keep it quiet, but cannot blame the park for inconsiderate neighbors. Overall, excellent KOA.
Apr 30, 2025 · RickZero securityClose to everything you need. Neat and clean but zero security. We had the sheriff all evening here filling out reports for stolen items from at least 3 campsites. Mostly bikes that were chained up outside even an electric bike. Sheriff said it's a real problem here and nothing is being done to detour thieves. Adding a simple entrance gate at both entrances would detour said thieves. This is a known targeted area I wish koa was more forthcoming about the known issue. But we found that out from sheriff dept.Koa said it's not their problem because they posted signs stating they are not responsible. It's sad because this is a cute little camp area. Lots of homeless and transient living nearby in the woods. (Not blaming) but whoever came knew when to do it and came with proper tools for cutting bolts. Sheriff is here often. I would opt for a safer location or return when cameras and gates are installed. Right now it’s all open all hours for anyone to drive or walk thru.
Mar 29, 2025 · Angie KilianOur second time staying here. Close to all the parks and very nice place to stay. The pool was very nice and all the amenities were excellent. We’ll be coming back next year!
Apr 27, 2025 · Andrew FrenchWe loved staying at this little campground, super cool that the store had lots of camper vehicle supplies, ice cream, and things a camper may need. We stayed in a little cabin, which are situated close enough to the bathrooms. We enjoyed a lot more privacy and security than a hotel. We had a lot of fun around the camp fire! My nephews were disappointed there were no alligators as you may be let to believe by the reading material. Super cool campsite, well maintained, I will be looking for another KOA campsite on other travels. The little kitty on mouse patrol definitely broke into our food though while we went to the restroom. Furnishing were great also, cabin so cute, perfect furnishings inside and out. Restrooms were super clean!
Nov 20, 2024 · Micah “Micah Todd” ToddWe have stayed at alot of different KOAs around the country and this was right on par with the rest of them. Professional staff with clean grounds. The amenities are nice and the pool was very clean. My only complaint was how tight the sites are. I asked the neighbor nicely to move their tow vehicle so we could back in, and I can back my camper anywhere. It was just that tight. We will definitely come back to this location, maybe request a bigger site and not stay on Tiger CT in the campground. I didn't remove a star for this because there is nothing the staff here can do about the size of the campground and layout of the sites.Im thankful for the nice staff and them picking up trash as well. Thank you
