Owl Campground Introduce
Seeking a camping destination in the 'Camping Near Me' category that offers scenic views and essential amenities? Owl Campground, located in Owl, Moreno Valley, CA 92555, USA, might be the place for your next outdoor adventure. Situated in a picturesque area, Owl Campground provides a range of services and features for campers looking to explore the natural beauty of Southern California. You can reach them at (951) 940-5600 or +1 951-940-5600 for inquiries and reservations.
Based on feedback from fellow campers, Owl Campground presents a unique camping experience with both advantages and considerations. The campground is described as "nice" and "very scenic," particularly highlighting the beautiful views of Lake Perris. This natural backdrop offers a tranquil setting for relaxation and outdoor activities. The layout of the campground is also noted as "well laid out," suggesting an organized and navigable space for visitors to enjoy.
One of the significant features of Owl Campground is its provision of full hookup sites. These sites include 30A and 20A electrical hookups and water connections, catering primarily to RV campers. The ability to have these utilities directly at your campsite adds a level of convenience for those traveling with recreational vehicles, allowing for a more comfortable and self-sufficient camping experience. However, it's important to note a key limitation regarding wastewater disposal.
According to camper reviews, the full hookup sites at Owl Campground only accommodate gray water drainage. Black water (sewage) cannot be directly drained at your individual campsite. For black tank disposal, the campground provides a designated dump station. While this amenity is available, it is mentioned as a potential "hassle," especially for longer stays. If you are camping for more than a few days and need to empty your black tank, you will need to hook up your trailer, drive to the dump station, and then return to your site to re-park and set up again. This is a crucial factor to consider when planning your stay, particularly for RVers who rely on these facilities.
The physical layout of the campsites is another aspect highlighted in the reviews. The sites are described as being "a little close for comfort," likened to "2.5-wide parking spots on either side of the main road." While a 5th-wheel trailer with slides out can comfortably fit alongside a pickup truck within a site, there is reportedly "no margin in between your spot and your neighbor’s." This proximity might be a concern for campers seeking more privacy or space between campsites. If you value a more secluded camping experience, the layout at Owl Campground might not fully meet your expectations.
Beyond the campsite specifics, Owl Campground offers recreational opportunities such as hiking trails and access to a "decent beach." These amenities provide avenues for outdoor activities and enjoyment of the natural surroundings. The presence of hiking trails allows campers to explore the scenic landscapes on foot, while the beach offers a space for relaxation and potentially water-based activities on Lake Perris. These features contribute to the overall appeal of the campground for those looking to engage with the outdoors.
However, the reviews also point out a notable issue with litter. It is mentioned that there is "a bit of a problem with litter on the ground and in the water." This suggests a potential need for greater attention to cleanliness and waste management within the campground and by its visitors. For those who prioritize a pristine natural environment, the presence of litter could detract from the overall camping experience.
In terms of pricing, Owl Campground is perceived as "a little high" compared to other campgrounds and RV parks, with the added observation that there are "no weekly discounts" mentioned. The reviewer speculates that this higher pricing might be "to be expected in California." Potential visitors should factor this into their budget and compare it with other options available in the 'Camping Near Me' category to determine if it aligns with their expectations and financial considerations.
One reviewer offers a candid summary of their experience, stating that "If the visitors would not trash the place it would a fair parking lot campground. If the staff would clean up the place it would be a fair parking lot campground. If the facilities were updated or at least well maintained it might help it be a fair place to stay as far as parking lot Campgrounds go." This feedback underscores the potential of the location if issues related to cleanliness and facility maintenance were addressed. It suggests that while the natural setting and some amenities are appreciated, there are areas where improvements could enhance the overall quality of the campground.
In conclusion, Owl Campground, as a listing within the 'Camping Near Me' category, offers a camping experience with notable scenic advantages, particularly the views of Lake Perris, and the convenience of full hookup sites (with the exception of black water drainage). The presence of hiking trails and beach access adds to its appeal for outdoor enthusiasts. However, potential visitors should be aware of the close proximity of campsites, the off-site black water dump station, the reported issue with litter, and the relatively higher pricing without weekly discounts. It is recommended to contact Owl Campground directly at (951) 940-5600 or +1 951-940-5600 for the most current information on rates, availability, and any updates regarding facilities and maintenance, allowing you to make an informed decision for your next camping adventure.

Owl Campground Reviews
Nice campground. The camp sites are a little close for comfort - basically the sites are like 2.5-wide parking spots on either side of the main road. I can comfortably fit my 5th-wheel trailer with the slides out next to my pick up truck in the parking spot, but there’s no margin in between your spot and your neighbor’s.The full hookup sites have 30A and 20A electrical hookups and water, but the big downside is that the drains are only for gray water - you can’t drain your black tank at your site. There’s a designated dump station at the campground, but it’s a hassle if you’re staying for more than a few days and you have to hook up the trailer and drive over to the dump station and then re-park and set everything back up at your site. The views of Lake Perris are really nice and the campground itself is very scenic and well laid out with hiking trails and a decent beach. There is a bit of a problem with litter on the ground and in the water though.Prices are a little high with no weekly discounts, compared to other campgrounds and RV parks, but I guess that’s to be expected in California.

Jul 09, 2024 · James D HawkinsThe spots were super close to each other. Nobody followed the noise ordinance, puerile were playing music loud until 4 am. The tent sites had more room for a motorhome and boat trailer.
May 24, 2021 · Shasta KirkeyWe arrived at Lake Perris at 9:00pm, everything was fine, good service. It's my first night of 2, as a family, my wife and 3 girls and our dog, the night was calm, neighbors were quiet and calm.
