Lake Perris Campground Introduce
For local users in the Moreno Valley area searching under the category "Camping Near Me," Lake Perris Campground, located at Campground Rd, Moreno Valley, CA 92555, USA, offers an expansive and scenic outdoor experience centered around the beautiful Lake Perris State Recreation Area. Based on recent customer reviews, this campground provides a blend of natural beauty, recreational opportunities, and spacious campsites, making it an attractive destination for various types of campers and outdoor enthusiasts.
One visitor who camped during a weekday in December noted the peaceful atmosphere due to the low occupancy, describing the park as "beautiful and clean." This suggests that during less crowded times, visitors can enjoy a serene natural environment. The reviewer also highlighted the abundance of wildlife, mentioning "lots of birds, squirrel and a pair of very friendly racoons" encountered near their picnic table. The lake itself was described as "beautiful" and containing fish, although the reviewer was unsuccessful in catching any, indicating potential for fishing activities.
However, this same reviewer also provided some considerations for potential visitors. They noted that "The camp sites are flat and don't have many trees, so sound traveled." This implies that while the campsites are level and likely easy to set up on, the lack of significant vegetation might lead to less sound buffering between sites. Additionally, while the sites are described as "large," the reviewer cautioned that they "might not feel as private if you went on a busy weekend" due to the open nature of the camping area.
Another visitor offered an overwhelmingly positive review, describing the area as "Beautiful, gorgeous, and expansive" and stating they "Couldn't ask for more!!!" This enthusiastic feedback underscores the overall appeal of Lake Perris and its surroundings. This reviewer specifically highlighted the "huge" lake and the presence of "very nice wide walking trails," suggesting excellent opportunities for hiking and enjoying the scenery. The availability of a "swimmable beach" adds another dimension to the recreational offerings, making it a great place for water activities during warmer months. Furthermore, the inclusion of a "great big park area that is dog friendly" makes Lake Perris Campground a welcoming destination for campers traveling with their canine companions. This reviewer concluded by expressing their love for the area and their intention to return "again and again," indicating a highly positive and memorable experience.

Lake Perris Campground Reviews
I went in December on a weekday, so it was almost empty. The park was beautiful and clean. Lots of birds, squirrel and a pair of very friendly racoons that looked all around my picnic table for food that they thought I might have left out. The lake is beautiful and had some fish, not that I managed to catch any.The camp sites are flat and don't have many trees, so sound traveled. And even though the sites are large, it might not feel as private if you went on a busy weekend.
Dec 21, 2024 · Eric GBeautiful,.gorgeous, and expansive. Couldn't ask for more!!! The lake is huge and there are very nice wide walking trails, a swimmable beach, and a great big park area that is dog friendly. We loved it and will be back again and again😎
Jan 02, 2025 · Crysta MeadorEasy check in and helpful staff. There’s a small convenience store inside called the marina with just about everything you need for camping, seasonings, s’mores kit, drinks, snacks, firewood, ice, coffee and coal. This was definitely a great price for the weekend and the campground was well maintained besides the picnic table which was falling about but we just put a tarp over it. The bathrooms were decent. I mean you are camping outside so flushing toilets are a luxury and showers! They do have quiet time after 10pm but not everyone listens but that sadly going to be everywhere, there’s a number you can call for information and assistance at the campground. There was a fire while we were there and it was taken care of very quickly. Water was great and beaches were pretty clean, there is a lifeguard for the most part of the day. No floaties without a life vest on. There’s also boat and jet ski rentals, as well as vessel storage. Overall I definitely want to come back! (Also bring your own hand soap)
Jul 28, 2024 · aliena sanchezBeginner friendly camping option in SoCal. Easy access to shops and very clean restrooms. Beautiful lake for kids to play during day time. Reservations available thru out the year and I most recommend this place for families and families with kids for adventure camping experience. Most experience.
Nov 23, 2024 · venkat shashankWe were evacuated from Serrano campground at Big Bear Lake and went to Perris Lake.We checked in on a Tuesday. The spaces are like spaces in a paved parking lot. Strange. Not a lot of room for maneuvering. There was trash in our fire pit and pretty much everywhere.Bath houses looked like they were rarely cleaned and my wife said there was a lot of hair on the floor in her shower. Urinals were covered up and not operational in men’s room and sink was stopped up.Beach by the lake had lots of trash. There was a collection of about 8 Modela beer bottles discarded by a lifeguard station. We were wary of broken glass. On Friday and Saturday people came in and filled up the place and were up until 4am partying all around us. We hardly got any sleep and couldn’t wait to leave.I’m posting pictures.
