Quail Campground Introduce
For local users in the Moreno Valley area searching under the category "Camping Near Me," Quail Campground, located in Quail, Moreno Valley, CA 92555, USA, offers a promising option for those seeking spacious campsites and convenient access to both nature and city amenities. Based on recent customer reviews, Quail Campground provides a generally clean environment with desirable features, making it suitable for families, weekend getaways, and those looking for a base to explore the surrounding area, including nearby Lake Perris.
One visitor who stayed at Quail Campground in anticipation of bringing their children for their son's first spring break experienced a relatively empty park during the weekdays leading up to the weekend. While they noted that the campground was "mostly cleaned," they also observed that their fire ring contained "beer boxes," suggesting that cleaning might sometimes be superficial or that some previous campers were not as tidy. This reviewer also mentioned a minor inconvenience, wishing they had been provided with firewood. Unfortunately, the weather took a turn for the worse with overnight drizzle and cold temperatures, preventing them from venturing to the lake during their stay. Despite the weather, the initial experience of having the park almost entirely to themselves might appeal to those seeking a quieter camping experience during off-peak times.
Another reviewer specifically recommended "Site #40" as being "great for the kids," highlighting that it is "mostly flat and away from heavy traffic." This suggests that certain areas within Quail Campground are particularly well-suited for families with young children, offering a safer and more accessible environment for them to play and explore.
A third reviewer provided a detailed account of their stay at "Quail Campground, space 87," emphasizing its spaciousness. They noted that while the site was officially listed as accommodating up to three cars, it comfortably fits "2 cars or a car + trailer perfectly." This is a significant advantage for those traveling with multiple vehicles or towing trailers. The reviewer also appreciated the "lots of green grass," suggesting a pleasant and perhaps softer ground cover around the campsite. The proximity to "trails" and the "lake" (presumably Lake Perris) were also highlighted as positive environmental features. Furthermore, they mentioned the availability of "hookup spots," indicating that at least some campsites offer utility connections, which is a significant convenience for RV campers.
In terms of facilities and services, this reviewer found the campground to be "pretty clean," with the presence of "dumpster bins" for waste disposal. They also noted the availability of "clean restrooms plus a shower," which are essential amenities for a comfortable camping experience. Access to a "water supply" at the campsite was also mentioned. This particular stay was during President's Day weekend, which is typically a busier time, yet the campground was "empty," resulting in "no neighbors or loud noises," suggesting that even on a holiday weekend, some areas might offer a quieter experience or that their timing was fortunate.
The convenience of Quail Campground's location was also a significant point for this reviewer. They noted its proximity to the "city and stores," meaning that "you can get last minute supplies from the local Target and other nearby convenience stores." This accessibility to urban amenities is a definite plus for campers who might forget essential items or wish to resupply during their stay. The reviewer enthusiastically stated, "I would gladly recommend it to anyone trying to get away for an overnight or weekend experience." Finally, they pointed out its relative proximity to "pretty much all LA county," being "just about 60 miles away from most places," making it a potentially convenient getaway destination for residents of the greater Los Angeles area.

Quail Campground Reviews
Mostly cleaned, the fire ring had had beer boxes; they should of left me firewood. I couldn't wait for the weekend to bring the kids on my son's first spring break. We basically had the park for ourselves! Too bad the weather took a turn and drizzled all night - too cold to head to the lake.Site #40 is great for the kids. Mostly flat and away from heavy traffic.
Mar 26, 2025 · Josue BQuail Campground, space 87, SPACIOUS! (Site says up to 3 cars but really fits 2 cars or a car + trailer perfectly) lots of green grass, trails, lake and hookup spots. Pretty clean, dumpster bins, clean restrooms plus a shower, and water supply. Stayed for President’s Day and it was empty so no neighbors or loud noises. Close to city and stores which means you can get last minute supplies from the local Target and other nearby convenience stores. I would gladly recommend it to anyone trying to get away for an overnight or weekend experience. Close to pretty much all LA county just about 60 miles away from most places.
Feb 22, 2024 · Aldahir HernandezI was able to park my SUV and attached 26ft trailer onto the campsite without sticking out into the road and is was angled for easy backing out of the spot. Bathrooms were clean and close. I prefer this campsite over the RV one. You have to back in over there in most the spots. I don't need electric or water hookups. Only complaint was the amount of broken glass around my site but blame that on the idiots there before us
Feb 28, 2021 · Peter RamosPic is from the beach at parking lot 9.On the reservation map, Quail looked like the tent locations were more spaced out.Couldn't tell if anything was going on at either amphitheater, but the museum is only open Friday?Bring your own beach chair and shade in case you don't get a picnic table at the beach. The camp has flush toilets, a shower, a dumpster nearby (don't leave food or trash out at night), running water nearby, a drinking fountain at the bathroom, and friendly employees.Google Maps says this is in Moreno Valley which is technically true, but it's actually in Lake Perris SRA.LoL, someone said that the firewood was cheaper at the Stater Brothers but unless you're already going there it's a 20 minute drive so if you're only getting one or 2 bundles, it's worth getting it at the campground gate (time and gas) but if you need other supplies, the shopping area around the Stater Bros is huge, including a Walmart Supercenter and most fastfood restaurants.
