Painted Rocks Campground Introduce
For local outdoor enthusiasts searching within the "camping near me" category, Painted Rocks Campground, located off an unnamed road in Utah, presents a promising destination for both short getaways and extended stays. While the precise address is unnamed, the reviews indicate its convenient location, with one camper noting it's "only an hour from where we live so great getaway." This accessibility makes it an attractive option for those in the surrounding areas looking for a quick escape into nature. The campground is also situated close to Yuba Reservoir and some ATV trails, offering a variety of recreational opportunities for different interests.
The environment at Painted Rocks Campground is described as offering "great views," suggesting a scenic setting that campers can appreciate. The campground caters to a range of camping preferences, accommodating both "big and small campers" with a variety of site types available. Specifically, it offers both "pull-thru" and "back-in" sites, making it suitable for different sizes and types of recreational vehicles, from large RVs to smaller trailers and tents. This versatility ensures that a wide range of local users within the "camping near me" category can find a suitable spot.
In terms of services and features, Painted Rocks Campground appears to be well-equipped for a comfortable camping experience. Each site is equipped with both "30/50 amp electric along with water," which is a significant advantage for RVers needing power for appliances and a convenient water supply. Additionally, the campground has a "dump station close by," further catering to the needs of RV campers for waste disposal. These full hookups make Painted Rocks Campground an excellent choice for those seeking the amenities necessary for a seamless RV camping experience near home.
While the majority of campsites offer essential hookups, one reviewer noted that "There are only a few campsites that have the view of the water." This suggests that if a waterfront view is a priority, it's advisable to inquire about the availability of these specific sites when making a reservation. However, the reviewer also mentioned that it's a "nice clean park" overall, indicating that even without a water view, the campground is well-maintained and pleasant.
Beyond the campground itself, its proximity to Yuba Reservoir opens up a wealth of water-based activities such as boating, fishing, and swimming. One reviewer mentioned that "It is close to Yuba reservoir," making it a convenient base for enjoying the lake. For those interested in off-road adventures, the campground is also located near "some ATV trails," providing opportunities for exciting excursions into the surrounding terrain. This combination of lake access and ATV trails makes Painted Rocks Campground a versatile destination for various outdoor pursuits within a short distance for local residents.
For boating enthusiasts, there is a "boat launch just a bit further down the road past the campground." However, it's important to note the reviewer's caution: "The launch is very steep, and long so make sure the truck you bring is powerful enough to get out in 4WD." This is crucial information for anyone planning to use the boat launch, highlighting the need for a capable vehicle, especially for retrieving a boat. This detail underscores the campground's appeal to those looking to enjoy Yuba Reservoir with their own boats.
The surrounding area also offers opportunities for exploration, with a mention of "a dirt road that connects to the other side." However, the reviewer added a caveat that this road "could be difficult to pass during wet weather," suggesting that caution should be exercised when considering this route, particularly after rain. This indicates that while there might be alternative access points or areas to explore, they could be weather-dependent.
For pet owners looking for "camping near me" options, Painted Rocks Campground is welcoming, as "Dogs are allowed on leash." This is a significant benefit for those who enjoy camping with their canine companions, allowing them to bring their pets along to enjoy the outdoor experience. The requirement of keeping dogs on a leash ensures the safety and comfort of all campers.
While not explicitly mentioned in the reviews, the open nature of the campsites ("The sites are in the open so not much shade") suggests that campers should come prepared for sun exposure, especially during the hotter months. However, the reviewer also noted that "it is a newer campground," which might imply that the landscaping is still developing and shade might increase over time as trees mature. The open sites could also offer excellent opportunities for stargazing, a common benefit of campgrounds away from city lights, although this is not specifically mentioned in the provided reviews for Painted Rocks Campground.
As the phone number provided for Painted Rocks Campground is the same as for Oasis Campground and North Beach Campground, it's possible they are managed by the same entity. To obtain the most accurate and up-to-date information regarding availability, fees, specific campsite details (including those with water views), and any current regulations or promotional offers, it is recommended to contact them directly at (435) 758-2611 or +1 435-758-2611. In conclusion, Painted Rocks Campground offers a convenient and well-equipped "camping near me" option near Yuba Reservoir. With full hookups for RVs, pull-thru and back-in sites, and proximity to both the lake and ATV trails, it caters to a variety of outdoor interests. While shade might be limited due to its newer development, the great views and clean environment make it an appealing choice for local campers. Painted Rocks Campground Reviews
Nice campground full of great views! This campground is for big and small campers and has pull- thru along with back in sites available. 30/50 amp electric along with water at each site with a dump station close by. There are only a few campsites that have the view of the water, but it's a nice clean park

Jul 03, 2024 · Stephen FeatherstoneWater was really low and lots of bugs. The campground is well maintained and nice. Lots of fun ATV trails. Dog friendly but have to be on a leash. Pit toilets, but cleaned daily.
Jun 04, 2023 · Valerie BensonGreat site overlooking the water. We visited in early April and the water was off, so top off your tanks / water carriers before going. Awesome views of the lake, would be fun visit when it was a bit warmer.
Nov 08, 2022 · Salin MoochOnly 4 stars because the wind was atrocious and we had the tent only sites that are on the ledge right next to the lake. Which is a great view but makes the wind 10x worse than the other sites. Beautiful view and we caught a mirror carp which was interesting.
