North Beach Campground Introduce
For local adventurers seeking a lakeside camping experience within the "camping near me" category, North Beach Campground, located off an unnamed road in Levan, UT 84639, offers a unique opportunity for recreation and relaxation. Situated near water, this campground appears to be a popular spot for those looking to enjoy aquatic activities and the natural beauty of the area. While specific details about the surrounding environment are limited, the reviews provide valuable insights into what campers can expect at North Beach Campground.
The mention of an "END OF SUMMER BOATING BLAST" suggests that North Beach Campground is located near a body of water suitable for boating. This implies the potential for launching and enjoying various watercraft, adding an exciting dimension to your camping trip. The presence of water is a significant draw for many seeking "camping near me," and North Beach Campground seems to capitalize on this with opportunities for aquatic adventures.
One reviewer's detailed account of their activities paints a vivid picture of the recreational opportunities available. They mentioned going "tubing 4 times," "kayaking," and even "tubing by myself," indicating that the adjacent water body is suitable for these activities. The fact that they also "played Volleyball" suggests that there might be some open space or even designated areas for recreational sports near the campground. This combination of water and land-based activities makes North Beach Campground an appealing destination for active campers.
Furthermore, the reviewer mentioned having "stuff to make ham and cheese sandwiches, juice chips and cookies," implying that campers typically bring their own food and supplies. This aligns with the expectation of a more self-sufficient camping experience, particularly given some of the other facility descriptions.
North Beach Campground seems to offer a fantastic environment for nature lovers as well. One reviewer raved about the "Great place for stargazing," highlighting the potential for clear, dark skies away from city lights, perfect for observing the celestial wonders. Additionally, they noted that "the sand was amazing," suggesting a beach area that is pleasant for walking, relaxing, and perhaps even building sandcastles. The combination of water access and a sandy beach creates a versatile environment for various outdoor activities and enjoyment.
Regarding services and features, the reviews provide a mixed picture. One reviewer mentioned that "A few of the bathrooms had no toilet paper," and described them as "primitive toilets." This suggests that the restroom facilities are basic and may not offer all the conveniences of more developed campgrounds. Campers planning to visit North Beach Campground should be prepared for potentially rustic bathroom conditions and consider bringing their own toiletries, including toilet paper and hand sanitizer. While the reviewer noted this wasn't a "huge shock" given the primitive nature, it's an important factor for potential visitors to be aware of when considering "camping near me" options.
Another crucial piece of information relates to accessibility. The reviewer recounted, "We tried to drive our car down but couldn't because of the sand so we parked it up top and walked our camping supplies down." This indicates that accessing the campsites might involve navigating sandy terrain, which could be challenging for some vehicles, especially those without all-wheel drive. They further suggested, "I think if we had shown up while it was still light out we might have been able to drive the car down, but if you're planning on coming here know you might not make it all the way to the water if you don't have an awd." This implies that the conditions for driving down to the campsites can vary depending on the time of day and the type of vehicle. Campers should be prepared to potentially park further away and carry their gear to their chosen site, especially if they do not have a four-wheel or all-wheel drive vehicle.
Finally, one reviewer mentioned a disturbance: "Also some family decided to start the party at about 1am down from us a ways which was irritating." This highlights the potential for noise from other campers, which can sometimes occur in more open or less regulated camping environments. While the reviewer still considered it a "perfect camping spot" overall, it's a reminder that the level of quiet and solitude can vary depending on the other visitors present.
Based on the available information, North Beach Campground offers a unique lakeside camping experience with opportunities for boating, tubing, kayaking, volleyball, and exceptional stargazing, complemented by a sandy beach area. However, potential visitors should be aware that the restroom facilities are primitive and may lack certain amenities like toilet paper. Additionally, accessing the campsites with a vehicle can be challenging due to sandy conditions, potentially requiring parking further away and carrying gear. While no specific promotional information is available in the reviews, the emphasis on water activities and natural beauty suggests that the primary appeal of North Beach Campground lies in its recreational opportunities and scenic location.
To obtain more detailed information about the campground, including the specific types of campsites available, any fees associated with camping or launching boats, and the current conditions regarding access and facilities, it is advisable to contact the managing authority. Jul 04, 2021 · Lynda EckersonFrustrating experience! I paid $30 to reserve a spot only to find that I could have driven right in without paying. There was no spot reserved for me at all and since I had been delayed, that meant everything had been taken before I got there. We just squeezed in to an empty area and made due as we could. The bathrooms were really far from the water so we had to drive the little kids up to them. This was fine during the day but after dark it was dangerous. The roads weren't marked and if you inadvertently drove off them, you could end up getting stuck in the deep sand. The beach was fun and the water was lovely. I had a hard time coaxing the kids out of the water. If I hadn't paid for a reservation, I think I would have shrugged off the problems. Next time if I decide to brave the deep sands again I'll drive in for free like I'm sure everyone else did.
Mar 01, 2024 · Meili TarkWe go here every year! We love parking right on the beach and camping out, it usually gets pretty windy so make sure you pitch your tent well if you're in one. As well as making sure if you have any sort of canopy that it is secured well!
Aug 25, 2023 · Brooklyn WilliamsSanding beach’s though you’ll want Sandals as there are sharp weeds on the beach. Wind is a constant occurrence here and your lucky if you get a calm day. There is a small area for off-road riding near by but mostly private land. The lake is refreshing but murky. Great for kids as the water stays shallow for a significant distant from the shoreline. Don’t forget to pay the rangers are active.
