Pless Place Camp Introduce
For local outdoor enthusiasts in Florida searching for a more rustic and basic camping experience under the category "camping near me," Pless Place Camp, located in Webster, FL 33597, USA, presents a unique option. Based on recent reviews, it's essential for potential visitors to be aware of significant changes in its operation and intended use. Formerly known for its affordability and simple cash-based system, Pless Place Camp has transitioned to an online reservation system and, according to recent feedback, now primarily caters to licensed hunters.
The provided information does not include a direct phone number or website for Pless Place Camp. Local users interested in camping here will need to rely on online search platforms or camping reservation websites to find the specific booking page for Pless Place Camp. Searching for "Pless Place Camp Webster FL" should provide the necessary links for reservations and potentially additional information.
The environment of Pless Place Camp appears to be quite natural and undeveloped, aligning with the description of a "primitive" campsite. Reviews mention "trees and concrete markers," suggesting a minimally developed area with natural surroundings. The lack of significant amenities indicates that campers should expect a basic outdoor setting. One reviewer noted that during their visit in May, the area seemed quiet and not actively used for camping at that time of year, implying that its primary activity might be seasonal and tied to hunting.
In terms of services and features, Pless Place Camp is described as having "straight up primitive" conditions with "no amenities." The only feature explicitly mentioned is the presence of "one picnic table" and "no fire rings." This lack of facilities underscores the need for campers to be entirely self-sufficient, bringing their own water, cooking equipment, shelter, and waste disposal systems. The concrete markers likely delineate individual campsites within the area.
A significant feature highlighted in the recent reviews is the apparent shift towards primarily accommodating licensed hunters. One review explicitly states that the online reservation system "indicates that it only for licensed hunters." This suggests that general camping outside of hunting season might be restricted or not the intended use of the site under the new management and reservation system. Local users who are not hunters should verify this information through the online reservation platform or by seeking clarification from the managing authority, if contact information can be found.
Another notable change is the transition from a $10 cash drop box system to a "cashless" online reservation system. This indicates a more formalized management approach and likely a different pricing structure, although the current cost is not mentioned in the reviews. The move to online reservations implies that spontaneous, on-site payment is no longer an option, and advance booking through the designated online platform is required.
The reviewer who visited in May outside of what they suspected to be hunting season noted the quietness of the area and the lack of active camping. They expressed an interest in investigating further for camping possibilities outside the hunting season, suggesting that there might be some ambiguity or a need for clarification regarding year-round camping availability for non-hunters. Local users interested in Pless Place Camp should also try to ascertain the specific periods when camping is permitted and whether it is exclusively for hunters.
Given the limited amenities and the potential focus on hunters, promotional information in the traditional sense is unlikely. However, the inherent appeal of Pless Place Camp, if accessible to non-hunters, would be its primitive nature and potentially lower cost (though the former $10 price is no longer applicable under the new system). For local users searching for "camping near me" who prefer a back-to-basics experience without the infrastructure of developed campgrounds, and who are prepared to be fully self-sufficient, Pless Place Camp might be of interest, provided they meet any specific criteria, such as being licensed hunters or if camping is allowed for others outside of hunting season.
In conclusion, Pless Place Camp near Webster, FL, offers a primitive camping experience with minimal amenities, including just trees, concrete markers, and one reported picnic table. Recent reviews indicate a shift towards online reservations only and a potential focus on accommodating licensed hunters. Local users considering Pless Place Camp should be aware of these changes and the lack of traditional campground facilities. It is crucial to check the online reservation platform for current availability, pricing, and any specific requirements, such as being a licensed hunter. For those seeking a truly rustic and self-sufficient camping experience in a natural setting near Webster, and who meet the site's current usage guidelines, Pless Place Camp might provide a basic option. However, thorough investigation of the online reservation system and any available contact information is essential before planning a visit.

This campground used to be $10 and have a cash drop box. Now it has gone "cashless" with online reservations only, and indicates that it only for licensed hunters.
